One needs to update oneself and climb steadily the ladder of excellence. Unearthing one’s potentiality and becoming the best in one’s area of interest is the greatest achievement for any human being. We the teachers of VKV should be the best in our profession. Some of the ways to update oneself are to attend training session whole heartedly, observing the classes of colleagues, reading good literature on methodology and content.
Whenever we stand at the entrance of a new session, the first thing that should come to us is to be very good at our profession. Almost all schools have had Varsharambha and classes have started in full swing. Please be noted that the First Term will have only 96 working days and we need to utilize each day for the excellent academic result.
Though the schools were on the Annual Vacation, there were many activities and much information is there to share. Let me jot down some of them:-
Acharya Prashikshan Shibir 2014:
15th Acharya Prashikshan Shibir was conducted in Kanyakumari from 6th April to 30th April 2014. There were 172 Teachers from the VKVs of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, and Andaman. It was a wonderful thing to see that the teachers from different VKVs located in different regions congregated under the one roof to get inputs on Indian Culture, Kendra ideology, teaching skills and various other topics and activities to enrich and equip themselves as Acharyas in the true sense.
It was overwhelming to see the enthusiasm of the participants. Each and every activity from morning 5 am to 10 pm witnessed the full participation. We could arrange number dignitaries like Dr. N. Gopalakrishnan, Director, IISH, Prof. Jayaraman, English Teaching Expert, and Shri. K. N. Reghu, former Lecturer of RIMSE to enlighten the participants in addition to the series of lecture by Mananeeya Nivedita Didi on Indian Culture and Teaching Skills by Unnikrishnan P.M., Mananeeya Balakrishnanji on Mananeeya Eknathji—Mission Personified, Bhanudasji on ‘Team Work’, Pravinji, on ‘Vivekananda Rock Memorial’ and Hanumanta Raoji on ‘Karma Yoga’, Life History of Mananeeya Eknathji by Sri Deepak Khaire, our Pancha Prerana Srot & VKV Teachers by Radha Devi, Karya Paddhati theory and practical by Sri Kamalakant, CCE by Sri Ravi Savadeykar were few other sessions of the APS. Su Revati Didi, Joint Secretary VKSPV, Sri.Krishna Kumarji CIC, VKVAPT were also present for a short duration to guide the participants in various fields.
The 15th APS saw the presence of the highest number of teachers in the history of APS. The organizing Team comprising of Sri Kamalakant, Regional Administrative Officer, VKSPV; Sri Ravi Savadeykar, Principal, VKV Dibrugarh, Sri Ananda Dutta, VKVAPT Dibrugarh , Smt. Jutika Devi, VKV Ziro and Sri Gurudev, VKV Tinsukia have done a commendable job for the smooth conduct of the APS.
Vivek Utkarsh Winner’s Trip to Kanyakumari:
The District toppers of the Vivek Utkarsh Quiz Competition conducted on 7th December, 2014 in all the districts of Arunachal Pradesh on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroh were taken to a trip to Kanyakumari. The trip for the Vivek Utkarsh winners started from Dibrugarh on 19th of April. A total number of 42 students (20 boys and 22 girls) and 6 parents from different districts of Arunachal Pradesh took part in the trip. Sri Shyamal Chakraborty, Principal, VKV Kharsang volunteered to be the overall In-Charge of the trip; Shri Bhaskar Chetia and two other members from ‘School Trip of India’, Su. Deepa Didi, VKVTC Seijosa and Rominso Mam from Arun Jyoti also volunteered the trip and helped it to be a memorable journey for the participants.
A Personality Development Camp for the participants was organized at Kanyakumari on 25 and 26 April. Mananeeya Balakrishnanji, Nivedita Didi, Sri P.M. Unnikrishnanji and Dr. N. Gopalakrishnanji and self could address the students in the camp. The students participated enthusiastically in all the activities like Prayers, Bhajan Sandhya, Yoga session, Group Discussion and presentation. They expressed their gratitude to Vivekananda Kendra for organizing such an educational tour and camp for them. Many were in tears while expressing the same.
The participants were also taken to many sights at Kanyakumari, Trivandrum and Chennai. All the participants returned home safely cherishing a treasure of unforgettable memories on 5th May.
Results of Class X and XII, 2014 declared: CBSE declared the results of Class X and XII on 20th and 29th May respectively for the NE region. The VKVs of Arunachal Pradesh could exhibit a good result in both the levels.

Recruitment Drive:
A massive recruitment drive was conducted in the months of March, April and May in 19 venues in 10 states. In all the venues more than 280 candidates were interviewed. In addition to the VKVAPT officials, Sri. S.B.Dixitji former Education Officer in Maharashtra, Sri Panchan Tripathy, Principal VKV Nirjuli, Sri Anand Mohan Mishra, Principal, VKV Ziro, Sri Vibhuti Bhushan Bal, Principal, VKV Sunpura, who were in vacation volunteered to organize and conduct the interviews in various venues. Team of VKVs Itanagar and Nirjuli also put their effort in conducting the interview in their respective schools.
Commerce Stream in VKV- Nirjuli:
VKV Nirjuli would be starting Commence Stream from the current Academic Session 2014-15 onwards. Now our schools have all the three streams to offer to students.
New Principals have taken charges:
Sri K. Jaisankar who was a Senior Teacher in VKV-Itanagar has taken the charge as the Principal VKV-Jairampur, Smt K.K. Reena, has taken the charge as the principal of VKV- Tafrogam, Su. Bhima Konwar has taken the charge of VKV- Liromoba, Smt. Mitarani Gantayat as the in charge of KGBV- Wessang and Sri Jiten Das has taken charge of VKV- Koloriang. We are sure they would discharge the responsibility of leading the team effectively and bring laurels to VKVs.
