International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations in Bihar-Jharkhand Prant

As part of the nationwide observance of International Day of Yoga 2026, all the branch centres of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm. The celebrations reflected Vivekananda Kendra's commitment to promoting the true spirit of Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

In Bihar-Jharkhand Prant, International Day of Yoga programmes were organized at 30 locations, bringing together 2,944 participants from different sections of society. A total of 73 karyakarthas were involved in coordinating the events. The branch-wise/Karyasthan-wise/Prakalpa-wise details are as follows:

  • Patna: 4 locations, 254 participants
  • Arrah: 1 location, 47 participants
  • Bhagalpur: 1 location, 20 participants
  • Gaya: 1 location, 90 participants
  • Bodh Gaya: 1 location, 22 participants
  • Ranchi: 4 locations, 434 participants
  • Chandil: 10 locations, 1,650 participants
  • Hazaribah: 1 location, 26 participants

The programmes were held at educational institutions, community centres, and public venues, making Yoga accessible to people of all age groups. Participants enthusiastically performed Yogasanas, Pranayama, and meditation in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH. The celebrations not only encouraged the practice of Yoga but also inspired participants to embrace a healthy, disciplined, and harmonious way of life.

International Day of Yoga Celebration at Jigani

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Kempegowda Vibhag, Jigani Nagarsthan, celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2026 at Nisarga Ground from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 65 participants, including 20 karyakartas

The program commenced with the chanting of three Omkars followed by the Sahana Vavatu mantra, establishing a deeply spiritual ambiance. The Chief Guest, Shri Nagesh Venkataram ji, delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the global significance of the International Day of Yoga and emphasizing the crucial role a disciplined, regular yoga practice plays in modern life.

Following his motivating words, the attendees participated in structured warm-up exercises and practiced various yoga asanas under expert guidance.

The event concluded gracefully with a vote of thanks and Shanti Mantra, achieving its objective of spreading profound awareness about yoga and propagating Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of oneness.

World Environment Day Celebration at RT Nagar

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Kempegowda Vibhag, R.T. Nagar Branch, observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2026 by organizing a sapling distribution and environmental awareness programme. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 93 participants, including 83 students, 8 teachers, and 2 karyakartas.

The highlight of the celebration was the gracious contribution from honorable Padma Shri Awardee Dr. Susheelamma of Sumangali Seva Ashrama, who presented 50 saplings to Kempegowda Vibhag Pramukh, Dr. Bharath Ji. These saplings were subsequently distributed to the Government School in Manorayanapalya, where the teachers and children expressed overwhelming joy and gratitude. Underscoring their continuous commitment to the environment, R.T. Nagar Karyakartas also actively maintain the school's terrace garden.


uring the event, Dr. Bharath Ji delivered an inspiring address, enlightening the students on proper plant care and motivating them to extend this green initiative by planting saplings at their own homes.

VKV Tinsukia Honoured as 'Best School of Assam' for Excellence in NCC Activities

With great joy, we are pleased to inform that Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tinsukia (from the Dibrugarh Group), has been awarded the prestigious "Best School of Assam" award for its outstanding NCC activities during the North Eastern Region (NER) Annual Award Ceremony 2025–26, held at the NER Directorate Headquarters, Shillong, on May 5, 2026.

This year, the accolade was conferred upon Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tinsukia, in recognition of its outstanding contribution to National Cadet Corps (NCC) activities. International Day of Yoga 2026 Observed at Sree Sankara Vidyapeedom, Manikandeswaram

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Keralam Prant, Thiruvananthapuram Branch, observed the International Day of Yoga 2026 on 21st June 2026 at Sree Sankara Vidyapeedom, Manikandeswaram. The programme was conducted from 3:45 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. with the participation of 12 participants.

The program began on a serene note with a traditional prayer, paving the way for a systematic and holistic practice session. Since most of the attendees had previously completed Yoga Satras, they were able to engage deeply and seamlessly in the practices. Under careful guidance, the participants diligently performed a sequence of loosening exercises, various Asanas, Pranayama, and Meditation, showcasing great focus and spiritual enthusiasm.

The entire program was smoothly coordinated by Priyamvada Didi, Kalyani Didi, and Monika Didi, whose constant guidance and support ensured a deeply enriching experience for everyone involved.

The rejuvenating session concluded beautifully with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.

International Day of Yoga 2026 Celebration at VKV Kanyakumari

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu Prant) observed the International Day of Yoga on 22nd June 2026 at Swami Vivekananda Sabhagriham from 8.00 a.m. The programme was presided over by Mananeeya Nivedita Didi, Vice President, Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra, with Sri L. Nalla Perumal ji, Professor, Diploma Yoga SKY, as the Chief Guest. The celebration was organized to promote awareness of the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga and inspire students to adopt yoga as a way of life. A total of 580 students and staff members participated in the celebration.

The programme commenced with a soulful invocation song by the school choir, followed by a welcome address by Kum. Siva Abirami (Class IX). Master Deepak (Class IX) spoke on the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life. In her presidential address, Mananeeya Nivedita Didi highlighted that the ultimate purpose of yoga is spiritual realization and the union of the individual soul with the Divine. She urged students to practice the principles of Yama in their daily lives and suggested a practical 30-minute daily yoga routine comprising 15 minutes of Asanas, 10 minutes of Pranayama, and 5 minutes of Meditation. She also emphasized that yoga is India's timeless gift to the world and should be practiced as a 24-hour way of life rather than merely a physical exercise.

A 35-minute Common Yoga Protocol was then conducted by Smt. Uma Selvi, during which participants enthusiastically practiced warm-up exercises, various asanas including Tadasana, Bhadrasana, Bhujangasana, and Setubandhasana, followed by Pranayama and guided meditation. Addressing the gathering, Sri L. Nalla Perumal ji explained the global significance of International Yoga Day and emphasized that regular yoga practice enhances concentration, memory, discipline, and overall well-being. He encouraged students to embrace yoga as a lifelong practice for the harmonious development of the body, mind, and soul.


The programme concluded with the presentation of a memento to the Chief Guest, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Kum. Ashwini (Class IX) and the Kendra Prarthana. The celebration inspired students to incorporate yoga into their daily lives and reaffirmed its importance in building healthy, disciplined, and value-based individuals.

International Day of Yoga 2026 Celebration at VKV Vallioor

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matric Hr. Sec. School, Vallioor (Tamil Nadu Prant) celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 22nd June 2026 with great enthusiasm and discipline. The programme was presided over by Sri S. K. Subramanian ji, Correspondent of the school, and Smt. Padmavathi, M.Sc. (Yoga), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A total of 512 students and staff members participated in the celebration.

The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by the students, followed by a warm welcome address and an introduction to the significance of Yoga by Smt. Saravana Usha. The proceedings were compered by Smt. Subbulakshmi. The celebration featured a series of impressive performances by the students, including Bharatanatyam, Silambam, Karate, and other cultural presentations that reflected discipline, strength, and coordination.

The highlight of the programme was the mass Yoga demonstration conducted under the guidance of the Chief Guest, during which all the students performed various Yogasanas with remarkable precision, focus, and synchronization. Addressing the gathering, Smt. Padmavathi emphasized the importance of incorporating Yoga into daily life for physical well-being, mental balance, and holistic development.

As a token of gratitude, a memento was presented to the Chief Guest by the Correspondent, Sri S. K. Subramanian ji. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Muthumari, followed by the Kendra Prarthana, leaving the participants inspired to adopt Yoga as a way of life.

Yoga Workshop on the Occasion of International Day of Yoga at Delhi

Grand Yoga Session Held on International Day of Yoga at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagarsthan, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 on 21st June 2026 at Coffee Board Layout, Hebbal Kempapura, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., in collaboration with other like-minded organizations. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 500 participants from the locality.

The program commenced serenely with the chanting of three Omkaras and the Sahana Vavatu shloka, followed by the traditional Deepa Prajwalana and a melodious song presented by Smt. Ramya Ji and her group.

The core yoga session was systematically conducted in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), which transitioned into a deeply rejuvenating Pranayama and meditation session led by Shri A.P. Prasad Ji, Karnataka Prant Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra. Adding further value to the gathering, Kendra Karyakartas organized a dedicated book stall for Sahitya Seva, which received an encouraging response from the attendees. Broad publicity was also carried out for the upcoming Yoga Shastra Sangamam.

To sustain the positive momentum of this event, a follow-up Samparka initiative with the participants is planned to further strengthen their association with Kendra activities. The program concluded gracefully with a vote of thanks, having effectively spread the profound message of yoga and holistic well-being.

International Day of Yoga Celebration at Shree Sharada Vidyalaya in Amruthahalli

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Kempegowda Vibhag, Hebbal Nagarsthan successfully organized an International Day of Yoga 2026 celebration at Shree Sharada Vidyalaya, Amruthahalli, on Saturday, 20 June 2026, held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 300 students and 5 Karyakartas, bringing together a total of 305 participants for a rejuvenating yoga session.

Following the program, the Karyakartas engaged in a highly positive interaction with the school's Principal, Correspondent, and senior management. The school leadership expressed immense appreciation for the event and showed a keen interest in integrating Vivekananda Kendra’s values-based initiatives into their curriculum.

As a result of this successful collaboration, the school has decided to initiate Kishora–Kishori / Tarunodaya youth programs and regular Yoga Varga activities on campus. Additionally, the management eagerly agreed to host student competitions in the lead-up to the upcoming Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations.

The entire program was exceptionally well received and concluded on a resonant note of health and harmony.

International Day of Yoga Celebrated with Dhruva Samskaravarga Children at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Kempegowda Vibhag, Hebbal Nagarsthan, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 with the vibrant children of Dhruva Samskaravarga at the Government School, Hebbal Kempapura. Held on Saturday, 20th June, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, the event was coordinated by 2 Kendra Karyakartas and saw enthusiastic participation from 80 students.

The program commenced on a serene note with the chanting of three Omkaras and the Sahana Vavatu prayer. Following this, the children were enlightened on the deep significance of International Yoga Day and the immense benefits of integrating yoga into their daily lives. The session then moved into action with energizing warm-up exercises and the practice of various asanas, to sustain this positive momentum, the Kendra has planned future follow-up activities, including the regular conduct of Anandalaya and Samskara Varga for the students.

The program concluded with gracefully with a collective Sankalpa and Shanti Mantra.

सप्तदिवसीय योग सत्र का दिल्ली द्वारा आयोजन

विवेकानंद केंद्र दिल्ली विभाग के अयोध्यापूरी कार्यस्थान में 14 मई से 20 मई, 2026 तक एक अत्यंत सफल सप्तदिवसीय योग सत्र का आयोजन किया गया। जिसमें कुल 14 प्रतिभागी उपस्थित हुए।

इस योग सत्र का समापन दिवस भी विशेष रहा, समापन के इस विशेष अवसर पर श्री निखिल भैया की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति ने सभी उपस्थित प्रतिभागियों के उत्साह को दोगुना कर दिया। उनके प्रेरणादायक मार्गदर्शन, ऊर्जावान उपस्थिति एवं आत्मीय सहभागिता ने इस सात दिवसीय योग सत्र को न केवल सफल बनाया, बल्कि सभी साधकों के लिए इसे और भी अधिक विशेष, सार्थक एवं स्मरणीय बना दिया।

पूरे सात दिनों तक चलने वाले इस सत्र में सभी प्रतिभागियों ने प्रतिदिन बड़े ही उत्साह, समर्पण एवं कड़े अनुशासन के साथ अपनी सहभागिता दर्ज कराई। इस दौरान पूरा वातावरण सकारात्मक, ऊर्जावान एवं प्रेरणादायक ऊर्जा से सराबोर रहा, जहां सभी सहभागियों ने योग, प्राणायाम तथा ध्यान के नियमित अभ्यास के माध्यम से अमूल्य शारीरिक, मानसिक एवं आध्यात्मिक लाभ प्राप्त किए।

Inauguration of Two New Anandalaya Centres at Shigli

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamumdeshwari Devi Vibhag, Anandalaya Prakalp, marked a significant milestone by inaugurating two new Anandalaya centers at Shigli in the Gadag District, on 15 June 2026. The inaugural program was a vibrant event, drawing a total of 52 enthusiastic students and 12 supportive parents. 

The programme included the Aanandalaya prayer, bhajans, patriotic songs, and games for the children. The two Aanandalayas were named Rani Chennamma Aanandalaya and Akkamahadevi Aanandalaya.

To ensure the smooth functioning and nurturing environment of the new centers, Smt. Saroja Patil and Smt. Vidya stepped forward to take responsibility as Acharyas, while Smt. Parvati Akka graciously assumed the role of Poshak.

The event was a joyful occasion, fostering cultural values and creating a vibrant learning environment for the children.
