Vivekananda Kendra is a thought movement, a spiritually oriented service mission. Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti has organized “TEJAS” A PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP” for the Students of class VIII to X of Sec. School, Rajiv Gandhi University Campus, Doimukh on 3rd August 2013. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Lobsang Tashi Thungon, VKAJ Yuva Manch Pramukh, Shergon. He has briefed the students  to enhance the over-all personality of the students, which will consist of lecture sessions on various important issues like values in life, patriotism in practice, True passion of life and team work etc.  Yoga for stress management, games for body fitness and mental alertness and more activities relating to all round development of the personality and effectively helpful to their studies.

Shri Phuntso Gombu, Karyakarta VKAJ, has briefed about the work activity of Vivekananda Kendra in AP and its work activities.

The first, second, third, fourth, and fifth sessions had been taken by Miss  Tana Yapu, Tok Thomas, Duyu Tailyang, Ribom Lendo and Suresh Lama on the topic of “ The true passion of life, Values of life, Teamwork, Patriotism and Self Responsibility. The sole objectives of the workshop were to guides and motivate them towards right path. And showed them theirs Responsibility towards society respectively. 170 students and teachers were present in the said workshop. The Programme was conducted on the eve of yearlong celebration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Shri Koj Tajang, Head Master of Govt. Sec. School RGU campus were also encouraging to student to participate in this programme.
Shri Tadam Ruti, VKAJ Karyakarta while informing about the five aayam of Swami Vivekananda Sardh Shati Samaroh 2013-14 appealed all the audience to join this year long Programme.


20130721_173411Maharshi Veda Vyasa’s jayanti which is celebrated as Gurupornima, falls on Ashadh Pornima according to Hindu calendar. This year it was on 22nd July. Swami Vivekananda envisaged the temples of ‘OM’ all over, where all will come together and work for the betterment of the humanity. Vivekananda Kendra is an instrument to translate Swamiji’s message in reality.

Various programmes were arranged by Vivekananda Kendra’s Nagpur branch to pay reverence to the Guru. In a programme at Kendra’s premises at Atre layout, Pratap Nagar, Smt. Savita Ogiral, a noted orator and writer talked on the Guru. She focused on the great relationship of Shri Ramamkrishna and Swami Vivekananda as Master and disciple. The programme began with chanting of Omkar and Bhajans explaining the importance of Guru in human life. All who were present felt the serenity of the atmosphere, while they chanted the Guru stotra and offered flowers to the Guru. The programme ended with Shanti Mantra and Kendra Prarthana.

Similar programmes took place at four more places. Those were arranged by the samskar vargas of Trimoorti nagar,  Narendra nagar, Ram nagar and Sakkardara vistars. The children of seven samskar vargas were involved. 260 people witnessed beautiful presentetions including skits, songs and dances by samskar varga children. Shri Ashutosh Pathak, CEO, Shriram Urban Co-op Bank, Sau. Sathe, teacher, Dr. Madhuru Wagh, Ku. Supriya Laturkar and Ku. Asavari Joshi talked to the audience.


daporojogurupurnimaVivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti felicitated Prabhu Baja, priest of Donyi Polo Nyedar Namlo, Ligu and Kampu Kadu, priest of Donyi Polo Namlo, Daporijo at the Donyi Polo Nyedar Namlo, Ligu yesterday in connection with Guru Purnima celebration and 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Jumni Ligu, Pramukh, V K Arunjyoti and chairman, Nyishi Elite Society, Upper Subansiri highlighted the importance of Guru in the society. The felicitation function was attended by 300 participants. (DIPRO)



A 10 day duration Yoga Shiksha Shibir was organized of All India Level from 15-24 July 2013 at Vivekananda Kendra Nagdandi- Kashmir. 

Total 16 participants (9 sisters & 7 Brothers) from Arunachal, Andhra Pradesh, Gujrat, Himachal, J&K, Maharashtra & Rajasthan participated very enthusiastically. They followed the Yoga Way of Life as taught by Vivekananda Kendra.

All realized that the the Yoga is not only Asanas & Pranayam and also not one of the pathy  to cure the physical ailments but it is the holistic approach to look at the life.

As usual the lectures were conducted on the subjected like - Ashtanga Yoga of Maharshi Patanjali, Bhagawadgita, Bhakti Yoga, Jyanna Yoga, Life and Message of Swami Vivekananda & Mananiya Eknathji, Bharatiya Sanskriti, important aspects of Kashmir,The Story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial etc. The Karma Yoga was explained through the selected Shlokas (Karmayoga Shlok Sangrah) from Bhagavadgita on Kanrma Yoga.

The teaching of Yogic Kriyas, the Bhajan Sandhya, visit of important places in Kashmir Vally etc. was the part of the shibir.

The deepening of the subject was done through the group discussions on the subjects. Md G.R. Shah, the Asst. General Manager of State Bank of India (Acchabal) Anantanag Dist paid a visit on 23rd and spoke on the holistic spiritual aspects.
