Free Multi Specialty Medical Camp by VK Arun Jyoti

A Free Multi Specialty Medical Camp was organized by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti Arunachal Pradesh on 28th May 2023 at Govt. Secondary School, Yealiang, Sunpura, Dist- Lohit in association with Rotary Club Tinsukia, The Mishmi Takin Riders and VKV Alumni Association Lohit and Anjaw Chapter. Dr. Rashmita Upadhayay(Medicine Specialists), Dr. Neena Dey Das(Child Specialist), Dr. Swaraj Bhattacharya(Eye Specialist) ,Dr. Harshit Bakulsaria(Dental Surgeon) and Dr. Snehil Bakulsaria(Skin specialist) from Rotary Club Tinsukia and the mobile medical unit of VK Arun Jyoti rendered their valuable services to 242 patients of greater Sunpura area. Free medicines were given to all the patients.

Few pairs of reading glasses were provided to some elderly eye patients. The volunteers of Rotary Club, The Mishmi Takin Riders and VKV Alumni Association Lohit and Anjaw Chapter assisted the whole day camp to make it a successful one.

The local administration had given wide publicity for the program.The ZPM of Sunpura, Smt. Angen Chaitom arranged the lunch and refreshment for the medical and volunteer team.

VKV Dbr secured 2nd on World Earth Day

The Arun jyoti project of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari has been running eight Poshan Kendra (Nutritional Centre) in some remote villages of Tirap and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh since 2018. The undernourished and malnourished children of these villages get nutritional food with some additional supplements in these centers. India Development and Relief Fund, USA is funding the program.  Since the lockdown because of Covid 19 outbreak, all the centers are closed. We were worried about the children and about their food supplements as all the children are poor. As it was not possible to call them to the centers as per protocol, we decided to distribute nutritious biscuits to the children. As it was not possible for us to reach to them because of lock down, we contacted all our Poshan Karyakartas and Local Karyakartas. We sent the biscuits to the villages and they collected and distributed to the children properly.

As the lock down got prolonged, we started getting news that there is scarcity of food grains and biscuits won’t be sufficient to feed those children. We then planned to send Rice and Musur Dal to the houses of every child enrolled in our Poshan Kendra, so that Khicidi can be prepared to feed them. We again contacted all our Karyakartas residing in the respective villages and have given them the responsibility to receive the food items sent by us and distribute them. We made two teams of Karyakartas for Tirap and Longding and they very dedicatedly distributed the items. We sent 1550 Kg Rice and 330 Kg Musur Dal to eight villages and each child got 5 kg of Rice and 1 Kg of Musur Dal. A total 310 enrolled children were benefitted. The detail report is as follows.

Because of lock down, it was really difficult to send the items to these remote villages, but the local transporters extended their help. Our Karyakartas informed the Chiefs of villages and other elders and involved them also in the program. In Khanu village the distribution program was arranged at the house of Sri Chingseng Wangham, The Chief of Khanu village. In all the villages, the distribution was very smooth. We instructed all our Karyakartas to avoid gatherings and to maintain physical distancing during the distribution of materials.

We would like to share one inspiring incident. Khanu village is 21 K.M. away from Wakka town. Our Karyakartas walked all the way to Wakka to collect the biscuits and returned carrying the heavy packets. Such was the level of dedication.

Free Operation Camp by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh conducted a free operation camp from 19th to 21st September 2018 at Marwari Arogya Bhawan Hospital, Dibrugarh. Dr. Raju Wilkinson (General Surgeon ,Nagpur), Dr. Surajit Hazra(General Surgeon ,Nagpur), Dr. Sunil Agarwal(CMC, Vellore), Dr. Raja Phanindra Kumar(General Surgeon ,Amalapuram Medical College, Andhra Pradesh) and Samir Saikia(VKNRL Hospital, Numaligarh) voluntarily participated in the camp. 20 poor and needy patients from Tirap, Changlang, Namsai and East Siang districts of Arunachal Pradesh were operated free of cost during the camp for various ailments like Gall Bladder stones, Appendicitis, Branchial Cyst and Lipomas. 

The mobile medical team of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti conducted three screening camps to identify patients for operations. 52 patients were examined during the screening camps and 25 patients were selected for surgeries. Out of them 20 were operated and rest 5 were medically treated. 

The camp was inaugurated in the evening of 18th September by Sri Jyoti Kanoi, President, Executive committee, Marwari Arogya Bhawan Hospital, Dibrugarh. He lauded the efforts of Vivekananda Kendra in primary health care in the remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh and assured all possible help for such camps in future also. The inaugural meeting was attended by Executive committee members of Marwari Arogya Bhawan Hospital, Dibrugarh and Nagar Samiti members of Vivekananda Kendra, Dibrugarh.

Medical and Health Awareness Camp

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti recently conducted free medical camps in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh. On 19th July the team organized camp at Niaunu village in collaboration with All Niaunu Student Association (ANSA). 435 patients were examined and free medicines were distributed. District Health Society (National Vector Borne Disease Control Program), Longding district distributed 150 Long Lasting Medicated Mosquito nets at the same venue. DVBDC Program Officer, Dr. W.Wangsu was present during the camp. On 20th July the medical team of Arun Jyoti conducted the camp at Govt.Middle School, Niausa. 144 patients were examined and medicines were distributed accordingly. 

Samartha Workshop by Vivekananda Kendra Arunjyoti

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti organized Samartha Prashikshan Karyasala (Trainer’s Training Workshop) at VKV,Tinsukia for the teachers of Arunachal Pradesh. 15 teachers and other professionals from Tirap,Changlang and Lohit districts of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam participated in this three days workshop. A total 8 karyakartas from Vivekananda Kendra also participated in this workshop. The workshop was inaugurated on 24th August and concluded on 27th August. Ma.Nidevita Bhide, All India Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari addressed the participants and guided to overcome challenges face by teachers through the concept of oneness. Su.Alkagauri Joshi, Prant Sangathak of Punjab and Haryana was the resource person. As it was a trainer’s workshop, the participants plan to organize the same workshop in various places of Arunachal Pradesh in near future. 

CHALE GAON KI AUR PROGRAMME AT MECHUKA

Vivekananda Kendra Project Arun Jyoti, (VKAJ) Aalo Branch successfully organized ‘Chale Gaon ki Aur’ programe braving against the cold waves at Mechuka from January 12 to 19. The programme was led by Romin Rava, a full time worker of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti of Aalo branch with the assistance of 10 more karyakartas of VKAJ from various colleges like Donyi Polo Govt. College Kamki, Jawaharlal Nehru College Pasighat and Dera Natung Govt. College Itanagar.

The main objective of this programme was to understand the value and conditions of the remote villages of our state and make feel that they are also an integral part of the country. The karyakartas have conducted several programmes in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Govt. Town Primary School Mechuka and Govt. Primary school Dichangtang on education and health related programmes like class room teaching, creative activities for skill development and confident building measures, Yoga for physical fitness, games for developing memory and concentration power, drama for general awareness and social services etc.

Addressing the concluding programme Mechuka ADC Ravi Dhawan appreciated the team of VKAJ who have come all the way from different parts to serve the people of the remote place. Such activities are very much necessary in the present day context for the students who are almost cut off from rest to gap the sense of alienation from the mainstream and.

Apart from class room teaching and learning other co-curricular activities are utmost important for the student, he said. Kamlera Moshing, ASM, Mechuka, also expressed his gratitude to the VKAJ team for their excellent job in their endeavor to imbibe such confidence building measures among the students to bring about optimistic changes in their life. Participants from various schools also shared their experiences and expressed their gratefulness to the karyakartas for spending some days with them for good cause. 

MULTISPECIALTY MEDICAL CAMP AT VKV KHARSANG

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti organized a Multispecialty Medical Camp at VKV (Vivekananda Kendra Vidhyalaya) Kharsang on 19th Jan 2014. Specialists from Rotary Club TINSUKIA voluntarily supported this noble venture. Dr.G.S. Gogoi(Eye Srgeon), Dr. (Mrs.)M.Dey(Child Specialist), Dr. K.Dey(Gyenocologist) and Dr.P.Sharma(Dental Srgeon) examined 296 patients and after examination free medicines were distributed to the patients. Patients from all the nearby villages of Kharsang township took the opportunity to be examined by the experienced Doctors of TINSUKIA. 10 patients were diagnosed for cataract and in the next phase operations will be conducted for them. 11 patients were screened for various surgeries.  It is to be mentioned that VKAJ is going to organize one Free Operation Camp in the month of February 2014 for the poor and needy patients of  Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with RAM, a voluntary Doctors association from America.

TEJAS - STUDENT TRAINING PROGRAM

Vivekananda Kendra is a thought movement, a spiritually oriented service mission. Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti has organized “TEJAS” A PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP” for the Students of class VIII to X of Sec. School, Rajiv Gandhi University Campus, Doimukh on 3rd August 2013. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Lobsang Tashi Thungon, VKAJ Yuva Manch Pramukh, Shergon. He has briefed the students  to enhance the over-all personality of the students, which will consist of lecture sessions on various important issues like values in life, patriotism in practice, True passion of life and team work etc.  Yoga for stress management, games for body fitness and mental alertness and more activities relating to all round development of the personality and effectively helpful to their studies.

Shri Phuntso Gombu, Karyakarta VKAJ, has briefed about the work activity of Vivekananda Kendra in AP and its work activities.

The first, second, third, fourth, and fifth sessions had been taken by Miss  Tana Yapu, Tok Thomas, Duyu Tailyang, Ribom Lendo and Suresh Lama on the topic of “ The true passion of life, Values of life, Teamwork, Patriotism and Self Responsibility. The sole objectives of the workshop were to guides and motivate them towards right path. And showed them theirs Responsibility towards society respectively. 170 students and teachers were present in the said workshop. The Programme was conducted on the eve of yearlong celebration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Shri Koj Tajang, Head Master of Govt. Sec. School RGU campus were also encouraging to student to participate in this programme.

Shri Tadam Ruti, VKAJ Karyakarta while informing about the five aayam of Swami Vivekananda Sardh Shati Samaroh 2013-14 appealed all the audience to join this year long Programme.

GURU PURNIMA CELEBRATED BY VKAJ, BRANCH : DAPORIJO

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti felicitated Prabhu Baja, priest of Donyi Polo Nyedar Namlo, Ligu and Kampu Kadu, priest of Donyi Polo Namlo, Daporijo at the Donyi Polo Nyedar Namlo, Ligu yesterday in connection with Guru Purnima celebration and 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Jumni Ligu, Pramukh, V K Arunjyoti and chairman, Nyishi Elite Society, Upper Subansiri highlighted the importance of Guru in the society. The felicitation function was attended by 300 participants. (DIPRO)

Patriotism in Action - Personality development camp

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Branch Itanagar was organized a five days Personality Development Camp for the Youth between the Class 6th to 10th from 17th to 22nd April at Chimpu VKV Itanagar. To give future leaders a positive direction and to inculcate patriotism, Cultural value, self discipline and the attitude of Social Service, with the twine ideal of Vivekananda Kendra “Man Making - Nation Building” through the various sessions on yoga, lecture, concentration, memory development games & group discussion.

The Camp was introduced by Shri. Pai Dawe, SVSSS Yuva Shakti Aayam Saha Pramukh A.P. He spoke about how we should build personality through education and set an example for others to follow. Shri H.A. Ranganatha, Senior teacher VKV Chimpu took a session on “Great Personality”. In his session he mentioned how great personality faced trouble in his early life but whatever the problem they faced they became mentally, spiritually, morally, emotionally and physically strong.  Shri W. Lowang, took session about “Arunachal Ki Visheshtayein”. He stated that Arunachal is a most important state in India for geographical situation. Arunachal Pradesh is a “ Land of Rising Sun “.

Shri Chaphung Wangsupa, Secretary of TIPS gave a lecture on the topic “Vivekananda Kendra in Arunachal Pradesh”. In his lecture he informed that Shri. Eknathji Ranade done a tremendous work in education through VKV. Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man. Education is not the amount of information that is put into your brain and runs riot there, undigested all your life. Vivekananda Kendra give education life-building, man- making, character-making, assimilation of ideas.

Shri. Gyati Rana, Head assistant in PWD and Publicity Secretary IFCSAP took a session about “Our Culture! Our Pride! Our Life! ”.  He advised that it is our duty to preserve our culture in our day to day life. A culture is a way of life of a group of people. Dr. V.N. Sharma, State Liaison Officer NSS took session about “Daily Routine”. He stated that how time is important for student’s life. Maintaining regular daily routine is one of the best way to work toward living a more organized and fulfilling life. Dr. Lala Wage took a session on the topic of “Health and Hygiene”. In his session he spoke without health, life is not life, it is only a state of languor and suffering.

Shri Kalyan Dutta Nagar Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra, Branch Itanagar spoke about “Patriotism in Action”. “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”. “Ahuti Satra” was taken by Shri Ashok Atale, Nagar Sangathak of Itanagar Vivekananda Kendra briefly explain what our country now wants are muscles of irons and nerves of steel, gigantic wills which nothing can resist, which can penetrate into the mysterious and secrets of the universe and will accomplish their purpose in any fashion, even if it meant going down to the ocean, meeting death face to face. It is man-making religion that we want and urge the camp participant at least to practice one or two activity that was taught in the five day camp to improve oneself, and for the development of the Nation.

Bal Sevikas Prashikshan Shibir

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti recently concluded Prashikshan Shibirs for Bal Sevikas, Anandalaya Acharyas and Swasthya Rakshaks at Vivekananda Kendra Pratisthan, Laipuli,Tinsukia. On 30th March 2013, Sri Rupesh Mathur,Prant Sangathak, Vivekananda Kendra Arunachal Prant inaugurated the camp.

The Bal Sevika Prashikhan Shibir was started on 30th March and concluded on 5th April 2013. 123 sisters from Tirap,Longding, Changlang, Lohit and East Kameng districts of Arunachal Pradesh participated in this camp. Through many lectures and interactive sessions they were taught to prepare themselves to be effective Bal Sevikas to serve their villages.

The reporting for Anandalaya Acharya Prashikshan Shibir was on 30th March and it concluded on 4th April 2013. 19 brothers and sisters from Tirap,Changlang and Lohit districts participated. Four subjects i.e. English, Hindi, Maths and EVS were taught by some experienced teachers in these four days. It is to be mentioned that Anandalaya is a system of supporting education for primary students of villages and very effective to pass on Sanskaras to school going children.
 

The Swasthya Rakshak(Health Worker) Prashikshan Shibir started on 30th March and concluded on 4th April. 12 Youths from Tirap and Changlang participated in this camp. Most of the participants are from very remote places, where road communication is not there. Some participants had two walk to full days to catch the bus. The main sessions were taken by Kendra’s own Doctor. Some special health sessions were taken by Dr.P.R.Paul, Dr.P.Dey and Dr.S.D.Singh, well-wishers of Kendra.

All the participants were trained to take active part in ongoing 150th birth centenary celebration of Swami Vivekananda.

Personality Development Camp

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti (VKAJ), Itanagar has organized five days Personality Development camp specially designed for the students of age12 to 18 from 24th to 28th March 2013 in VKV Chimpu for the students of Papum Pare district. In this camp various types of sessions conducted like Yogabhyas, Creativity session, Workshop and Tejas for School students. To develop the quality of life, Time management, Confidence, Leadership, Stress Management, Body fitness, mental alertness, etc. which gives an individual, good moral character, ethics to lead a successful life & develop leadership quality to be an Ideal human being, keeping these views a residential camp was arranged by VKAJ. Total of 64 students participated in Personality Development camp.
The Camp was introduced by Shri Taba Tatup, Prant Karyalaya Pramukh, SV-SSS. He spoke about how we should build personality through education and set an example for others to follow. Smti Toku Natung gave a lecture on “Patriotism in practical”. Shri K. Jaishankar, Teacher VKV Chimpu, took session about “Daily Routine”. He stated that how time is important for student’s life.
Shri Tara Dajam gave a lecture on the topic “Vivekananda Kendra in Arunachal Pradesh”. In his lecture he informed that Shri Eknathji Ranade established 07 VKV’S in Arunachal Pradesh in 1977 and at present this has reached 34 VKV’s spread all over Arunachal Pradesh. Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti has working in Arunachal Pradesh since 1993. Smt. Ganga Jerang, Teacher Govt. Middle School Niti Vihar, took a session about “Our Culture! Our Pride! Our Life! ”. She advised, it is our duty to preserve our culture in our day to day life.
Shri W. Lowang took a session on the topic of “Speciality of Arunachal Pradesh”.  Shri Ashok Atale, Nagar Sangathak of Vivekananda Kendra, Branch Itanagar spoke about “Karyakarata as a Leader”. “Ahuti Satra” was taken by Shri Rupesh Mathur, Pranta Sangathak of Vivekananda Kendra Arunachal Pradesh briefly explain constructive and meaningful life with the thought “THEY ALONE LIVE, WHO LIVES FOR OTHER, REST ARE MORE DEAD THAN ALIVE” and urge the camp participant at least to practice one or two activity that was taught in the five day camp to improve oneself, and for the development of the Nation.

Special Workshop for Students, Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar : 5 March 2013 :Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti has organized workshop entitled “Pariksha De Hastein Hastein” (PDHH) for the students of D. N .G. College on 01 to 05 March at D.N.G. College Auditorium. In order to prepare them mentally, physically and psychologically fit for writing their coming exams confidently. The workshop is of five days which deals on various elements relating to exams.

Shri Rupesh Mathur, State Organizer of  Vivekananda Kendra Arunachal  Pradesh explained the Concept of exam, confidence building, memory development, techniques for concentration, importance of sleep, technique for gaining energy and enjoying the study with intelligently using of the technique of focusing and defocusing.  

In practical session Students benefitted with the practice of loosing and breathing exercises, Yogaasana, Pranaayama and Trataka. It keeps body and mind healthy. 

It is worth mentioning here that the games for development of Concentration & Memory were also taken by the karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra. The workshop was attended by the students of D. N. G. Collage.
