युथ आयकॉन - स्वामी विवेकानंदांवरील परिसंवादात रमली मुंबईची तरुणाई

Childrens at GHS Gangaस्वामी विवेकानंद यांना युथ आयकॉन समजले जाते. विवेकानंद जयंती देशभर युवा दिवस म्हणून साजरा होतो. दि. २५ आणि २६ ऑगस्ट रोजी मुंबईतील रुईया आणि जोशी बेडेकर महाविद्यालात स्वामी विवेकानंदांच्या तत्त्वज्ञावर राष्ट्रीय परिसंवाद पार पडले. या परिसंवादात युवक युवतींनी मोठ्या प्रमाणात सहभाग नोंदविला.

भारत जसा आहे तसा त्यावर प्रेम करा. भारतातल्या गरीब, दुखी-पिडीतांवर प्रेम करा. प्रत्येक जीव ईश्वराचेच रूप आहे त्यामुळे माणसातल्या ईश्वराची पूजा करणे सर्वश्रेष्ठ पूजा आहे, असा संदेश स्वामी विवेकानंदांनी दिला. तो विचार आज कृतीत आणण्याची गरज आहे असे प्रतिपादन विवेकानंद केंद्राच्या राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष बी. निवेदिता यांनी केले. येथील मुंबई विद्यापीठ, राम नारायण रुईया महाविद्यालय आणि जोशी बेडेकर महाविद्यालयाच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने स्वामी विवेकानंदांच्या तत्त्वज्ञानाच्या विविध पैलूंवर दोन दिवशीय राष्ट्रीय परिसंवादाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. परिसंवादाच्या समारोपप्रसंगी निवेदिता बोलत होत्या.

यावेळी व्यासपीठावर मुंबई विद्यापीठातील तत्त्वज्ञान विभागाच्या प्रमुख डॉ. शुभदा जोशी, जोशी बेडेकर महाविद्यालाच्या प्राचार्य डॉ. शकुंतला सिंग, डॉ. वत्सला पै आदी मान्यवर उपस्थित होते.

विख्यात अर्थतज्ञ आणि विचारवंत एस. गुरुमुर्ती यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाने राम नारायण रुईया महाविद्यालयात परिसंवादाला प्रारंभ झाला. यावेळी महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. सुहास पेडणेकर आणि अन्य मान्यवर उपस्थित होते. भारताच्या अंगभूत सामर्थ्याची उदाहरणे देत गुरुमूर्ती यांनी स्वामी विवेकानंदांच्या तत्त्वज्ञानाचे अनेक पैलू उलगडून दाखविले. स्वामीजींनी भारतीयांना त्यांची हरवलेली ओळख पुन्हा मिळवून दिल्याचे सांगून गुरुमूर्ती म्हणाले की विवेकानंदांनी आपल्याला महानतेशी जोडले. भारताला जगद्गुरू बनण्यासाठीचे दिशादर्शन केले.

स्वामी विवेकानंदांच्या तत्त्वज्ञानावरील परिसंवादाला विद्यापीठातील तरुण- तरुणींनी मोठ्या प्रमाणात हजेरी लावली. युवा प्राध्यापकांनी परिसंवादात अनेक संशोधनपर प्रबंधांचे वाचन केले. विश्वधर्माची संकल्पना, सामाजिक आणि आर्थिक दृष्टीकोनातून विवेकानंदांचे विचार, अध्यात्म आणि विज्ञान, वेदांताचे विविध पैलू, वैश्विक दृष्टी आणि उच्च जीवनमूल्ये, व्यवस्थापन : स्वताचे आणि समाजाचे या विषयांवरील परिसंवादात संशोधक - अभ्यासकांनी आपले प्रबंध वाचले आणि त्यावर चर्चा झाली. प्रबंध सादर केलेल्यांमध्ये डॉ. त्रेवोर अल्लीस, डॉ. तबस्सुम शेख, डॉ. अमिता वाल्मिकी, डॉ. राधाकृष्ण पिल्लई, डॉ. वत्सला पै, प्रा. पूर्णिमा दबे, डॉ. गीता रमणा, प्रा. हर्ष बाडकर, प्रा. सिम्मीन राय, डॉ. शोभा दोशी, डॉ. अर्चना मलिक, प्रा. कमला श्रीनिवास, डॉ. मीनल कातार्निकर, डॉ. शर्मिला वीरकर, डॉ. प्रिया वैद्य, राजेश कामत, रणजीत शेट्टी, डॉ. गीता मोहन यांचा समावेश होता. या चर्चासत्रात अध्यक्ष आणि चर्चा प्रवर्तक म्हणून डॉ. राजेश अरोरा, डॉ. शुभदा जोशी, डॉ. शकुंतला सिंग, डॉ. रमेश दबे, प्रीती मल्होत्रा, प्रा. सुचित्रा नाईक, डॉ. ललिता नामजोशी, अनुपमा मुजुमदार, डॉ. कांचन महादेवन, डॉ. उमा शंकर, प्रा. शेहेर्नाझ नाल्वाल्ला आदी मान्यवरांचा सहभाग राहिला.

VKV BALIJAN STUDENT EXCEL IN STATE LEVEL SCIENCE SEMINAR

VKV Balijan Student excel in State Level Science Seminarvkv-balijan-state-level-science-seminar Department of School Education in collaboration with BITM National Council of Science Museums-Kolkata, organized a State level seminar on the theme ‘Chemistry for human welfare-promises and concerns’ at Itanagar today.

Altogether, 14 participants from various schools of the state participated the seminar.

Osunam Pangam of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Balijan was adjudged winner of the State level Science seminar-2011, while, Jamlar Kojam Tungi of Eklavya Model Residential School (VKV), Bana and Sangeeta Das of Intaya Public School, Roing bagged second and third prizes respectively.

Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, professor H S Yadav, Department of Chemistry, NERIST said: “The topic of Chemistry is universal in nature and is closely linked with every life form and its origin in universe” while highlighting on the importance of chemistry in human life. Giving detailed information on the topic ‘Chemistry for human welfare-promises and concerns’, Professor Yadav wholeheartedly lauded the participants for inculcating scientific temperament. However, he regretted over the lack of Power Point Presentation system during the seminar, which would have added more live to the presentation.

Yadav appealed the education department to impart knowledge on Power Point system to the students so as to make them ready for various national level competitions too. He also expressed concerned over less participations of students of govt school and urged the DSE to make it mandatory for every govt schools to send their representatives.

Director of School Education T Taloh emphasized on judicious use of Science knowledge for the greater interest of the humanity. He also called upon the students to develop scientific temperament to excel in life besides bringing laurels to the State.

Earlier, the participants presented their papers on the topic and highlighted on contributions of chemistry in human lives such as health care, agriculture productions, industries and social activities and also its ill effects because of its over exploitation as well as people’s negligence.

Science Laboratory On Wheels in VKV, Arunachal Pradesh

Childrens at GHS GangaVivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas (VKV) Arunachal Pradesh Trust with an initiative of bringing an exposure to science, and to create a scientific bend of mind for the School Children started its voyage in the Schools of capital complex. The project targets the government schools of the state where science lab facilities are not available or meager. The Mobile Science lab is equipped with almost all the advanced facilities of a science and technology lab upto Higher Secondary Level.

Mobile Science LabThe routine of the science lab includes demonstration of prescribed experiments of middle and high school in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and IT. The Lab is equipped with advanced communication facilities like Multimedia Computers, High Resolution LCD Projector and internet.

The schedule of the session 2011-2012 was flagged off on 19th August 2011. The Science lab has already covered seven schools in the capital complex. The venture was well received by the students and teachers of the schools covered, specially the Government schools of Banderdewa, Ganga and Vivek Vihar. The students and teachers of VKV Itanagar & Nirjuli have extended their expertise and experience.

The service of the Science Lab will be extended to the schools outside the capital complex including remote areas.

Gokulashtami & Rakshabandhan Celebration at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari

Gokulashtami & Rakshabandhan Man. KrishnamoorthyJi Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari celebrates the twin festivals Rakshabandhan & Gokulashtami on 20th Aug 2011 at 2.30 P.M. Sethulakshmi of class XI welcome the gathering. Man. Krishnamoorthy, Secretary, RDP, Vivekananda Kendra was the Chief Guest. While he was speaking, he explained the Guru Bhakthi of Lord Krishna. Also Krishna asked his mother Devaki a Boon, that His life fully he wants eat food from his mother’s hand. So many Krishna songs were sung by our Vidyalaya Children (Gopikas). Uriyadi was also performed. Krishna & Gopika dance was given a feast to all our eyes. At the end of the program rakhi was tied to our chief guest and all our students. After getting the divine blessing from Krishna, prasadam was given to all our students.

64th Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Inaugurated

"Education is not the amount of information that is put into your brain and runs riots there, undigested all your life. We must have life-building, man-making, character-making, assimilation of ideas."

Based on Swami Vivekananda's thought, Vivekananda Kendra imparting Man-Making education through Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas for tribal and rural children across the country.

The 64th Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya located in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh is on the move. On 8 August the hopes and aspirations of Tawang district populace got fulfilled when 112 tiny tots in a tidy VKV uniforms with cheerful faces attended Varsharambha. It was quite a pious and jubilant ceremony graced by Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Director of School Education and SP of Tawang.Parents in their traditional attire made the function vibrant. When Vedic and Buddhist chants echoed at Kitpi which is surrounded by the snow clad mountains, it was a blissful experience for one and all. The active participation by Govt. staff, local people, Lamas from Tawang Monastry and ex VKV students made the Varsharambha unique. The school has enough infrastructures and well trained and experienced staff is posted there.

Independence day celebration at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari


Independence Day Celebration Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari celebrated the Independence day on 15th Aug-2011. Our National flag was hoisted by Man.Bhanudasji, General secretary, Vivekananda Rock Memorial & Vivekananda Kendra. The program is started by an invocation song “VANDEMADHARAM” which was sung by VKV, Children. To highlight the National Integration, children performed mass drill. Man.Bhanudasji, General secretary, VRM & VK and Dr. N. Azhagesan, Principal, Cape Institute of Technology, are our guests for the Independence day celebration.

Man.BhanudasJi addressing children S. Nisha of class – IX welcome the gathering. Importance of this day is recalled by English, Hindi speeches and by drama. Patriotic feeling is inculcated among children by various cultural events like, atriotic songs, bharathanattiyam, Pinnal kolattam, pyramid formation, Band display, etc. While Man. Bhanudhasji general secretary speaking, he said that this is the day of motivation and dedication.Also he explained that this is the time to remember ,those who have sacrifice their life for our nation. Dr. N.Azhagesan, Principal explained that,this patriotic function moulding you all.Due to that we are forced to follow the way of freedom fighters. Finally last academic year toppers were appreciated by giving prizes by our guests.K. Spiritual Retreat at Kanyakumari August 2011 Report

All India Spiritual Retreat was organized at Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari from 8-14 August 2011. In all 162 participants - Sisters-94, Brothers-68 - from 13 states : Assam, West Bengal, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Uttaranchal, Haryana and Punjab participated in this 7 day event.

Spiritual Retreat - August 2011

During the Camp, lectures were delivered on Spirituality, Kendra Prarthana, Upanishads, Happiness Analysis, Bhakti Yoga, Story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Vivekananda Kendra movement and activities, Purposeful life and Swami Vivekananda’s Sardh Shati Samaroh.

Daily thought provoking “Manthan” was conducted on thoughts of Swami Vivekananda wherein the participants exhibited their team coordination, analytical and communicating skills.

In all, the Camp was conducted in moderate discipline wherein most of the participants participated with the spirit of learning, sharing and experiencing. Many expressed their desire to contribute in the Vivekananda thought movement and the coming Vivekananda Sardh-Shati Samaroh to best of their present capacities.

Fun with meaning

Vivekananda Kendra is organizing various programmes for various classes of society like teachers, students, corporate people, families etc.

In this chain, recently on 6th and 7th August, 2011, Vivekananda Kendra’s Rajkot Vibhag organized Gujarat’s first
“Saha-Yoga” workshop for couples under the shelter of mother nature in Shomeshwar Ashram, Munjka Village, Rajkot, wherein 11 couples participated.

On 6th, all participants were welcomed with “Kum-Kum Tilak” by little dolls Kavya (6 years) and Veer (5 years). Sharp at 4.30, workshop started with "Deep Prajvan" by Rajkot Nagar Sanchalak Shri Gajendrabhai Joshi and Susri Vinodiniben Joshi along with chanting of 3 Omkars and Shanti Paath. Thereafter, participants enjoyed games in “Prerana se Punarutthan” and understood the secret of life through lighter moments.

Thereafter, participants again gathered for first Interaction Session “Realizing Oneness” by Shri Jagdish Mehta, Rajkot Vibhag sangathk, wherein participants understood the concept of Oneness and expansion of self-I to whole Universe (Yashti to Samasthti). Thereafter they experienced physical and mental relaxation in Yogic Exercise and Pranayam Satra conducted by Smitaben Vyas and Chandniben Parsania.

First day’s programme concluded with light supper and as a result of first session, all participants were busy with topic of “Oneness” even on dinning table also.

All Vyavastha Karyakartas preferred to take night stay at Ashram.

Next day, Karkartas gathered for morning prayer, Gita Pathan, Yoga and Shramanubhav.

Again, programme started at 9.30 with Yoga session wherein Participants practiced Stitching exercise and Asans followed by lighter moments related to second interaction session “Parenting with Joy” by Divyeshbhai Mehta.

Next session started after lunch in form of lighter moments and thereafter, session III – “ Towards purposeful family” conducted by Shri Jagdish Mehta.

After tea break, meditation session “Bhav-Dhyan” conducted by Riddhiben Mehta wherein all participants traveled in another world. It was amazing experience for them.

Last and 4th session of the workshop – “Kriti Sankalpa” conducted by Susri Shitalben Joshi. She loudly appealed to start new journey of life together and to think about our responsibilities towards the nation.

In their feedback session, all participants express their experiences and they express their will to join future activities of Kendra. It is pertinent to note that Vivekananda Kendra had kept special arrangment for small children of participants in which, Shri Milapbhai played with them and taught them songs, games and all the fun. Participants were really could feel very free due to this unique arrangement. Children enjoyed the company of Shri Milapbhai to that extend that no child was ready to home with his parents.

Free Ayurvedic Medical Camp at Shimla

Vivekananda Kendra, Shimla branch organised a free Ayurvedic medical camp in its premises on 24/7/11 Sunday in collaboration with Arogya Bhrarati, Himachal Pradesh. It was inaugurated by Sri Suresh Bharadwaj, Honorable M.L.A., Shimla (Urban). About 120 persons were present during the inauguration. Sri Bharadwaj told that the ancient systems of medicine are curing many diseases which cannot be cured by modern medicine. After the inauguration, Sri Rajesh Kapoor, a renowned Ayurveda doctor and well known speaker from Solan, Himachal Pradesh, gave a speech on Pancha Gavya.

Dr. Rakesh Pandit, Sanyojak, Arogya Bharati and a team of 10 renowned Ayurveda specialists from Himachal Pradesh treated the patients. The different fields of specialisation are Orthopedics, Surgery, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Nadi Vaidya, Accupressure etc. 258 patients got benefit from this camp. All the patients were given free medicine also.

Medical Camp by VKAJ at Laju


Medical Camp at Laju

Swasthya Seva Manch (Health Service Forum) of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti recently conducted a few medical camps in Laju circle of Tirap district. Camps were conducted at Thinsa, Barap, Laju village and Pongkong where 325 patients were treated for various ailments and medicines were distributed. 12 pregnant women were examined during the camps and Iron Folic Acid capsules were given to them and advised them for regular ANC. 6 patients were advised for Sputum test (AFB). The Medical team organized meetings with the youths and asked them to take precautions for any sort of out-breaks during the rainy season.

Medical Camp at Upper Subansiri

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti recently organized six Medical Camps in some villages of Upper Subansiri district. The mobile medical team with two Doctors and paramedical staffs conducted camps at Sippi, Menga, Lilydong, Maro, Kodak and Bararupuk villages. A total 350 patients were examined for various ailments and medicines were distributed accordingly. Discussions with villagers regarding various water-borne diseases and Malaria etc.was an integral part of the campaign. The team introduced various schemes of health departments to the villagers and urged them to avail those. Rotary International of Dibrugarh, Assam supported Kendra’s medical activities in Upper Subansiri district by providing medicines and financing a vehicle. For this month’s camp Dr.Reddy’s Pharmaceutical, Guwahati, Assam provided some basic medicines.

Vijay Hi Vijay!! A state Level Youth Leadership Development Programme was launched in Odisha. The programmes were held in two Vibhags of Odisha Prant, Vani Vibhag and Bhanja Vibhag.

In Vani Vibhag, Utkal University Vice Chancellor Prof. Prasant Kr. Sahu released the book ‘Vijay Hi Vijay Ra Sankalpa’(Odiaya) in a programme held at Utkal University Campus on 26th July 2011. Pujaneeya Srimat Swami Priyarupananda ji Maharaj was present as Chief speaker and Prof. Pradip Kumar Sarkar was the Guest of Honour for the occasion.

Swami Priyarupananda ji highlighted the role of teachers in National Regeneration, he said, it is the sacred duty of the teacher to mould and inspire students. The spiritual and moral awakening of students should be transformed into National Awakening. Solution of all problems lies in Swami Vivekananda’s message.

Vice Chancellor Prof. P.K. Sahu said there are many types of leaders and Swami Vivekananda was one of the most influencing world spiritual leaders. He guided the world with the message of his Guru Sri. RamaKrishna.
Prof. P.K. Sarkar added, Swami Vivekananda influenced many important persons in the west. Students empowered with his message will be able to make India a world leader. For this student has to build character with family, social and national character.

Similar Programme was held at Brahmapur University on 2nd August 2011 for Bhanja Vibhag. Vice Chancellor Prof. Jayant Kumar Mahapatra was present as Chief Guest and Prof. N.K. Tripathy, Chairman P.G. Council was Guest of honour. Odisha Prant Sangathak Shri. Ravi Naidu ji told about aims and objectives of Vijay Hi Vijay!!.

Porf. J.K. Mahapatra, told about Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring life and his message of national awakening. He also told about that Swami Vivekananda’s dream of making Bharat Jagadguru will be possible by organised efforts, for that organisations like R.K. Mission, Vivekananda Kendra are working. Prof. N.K. Tripathy also emphasised on the need of such programme at this hour to motivate students towards positive and constructive work.

Anna Puja1.“Sri Rama Jaya Rama” Mantra was chanted during Deepa Pooja, Shivalinga Pooja and also daily by our balwadi school children, cultural class students and during monthly meetings by our balwadi teachers and Social Workers. Every month nearly 5, 12,121 times mantras were chanted in 84 localities.

2.Through 74 Balwadis, 1,804 rural Children were nurtured. In all the Balwadis, Malt along with hygienically prepared highly nutritive lunch with vegetables was served during the day. And in the evening vitamin-rich cereals were provided to the children.

3.In our Medicare Program, 1,958 patients were examined and treated for various common ailments, through 20 Rural Medical Centers.

4.Eye camps were conducted at 5 places in which 749 were treated for their eye ailments and 206 were operated for cataract.

5.In 212 Samskara Vargas, 6,635 students participated. The students were taught about the values of Indian Culture, through games, lectures & lessons. The feelings of oneness were strengthened among participants, through patriotic songs and games.

6.Under Adopt A Grannie Parent Programme, 26 destitutes and old people were provided with monthly solatiums, in the form of rice, dhal, oil, etc., for their livelihood and 45 persons provided rice only, in five Southern districts of Tamilnadu

7.Monthly deepa poojas were organized in 243 village temples in five districts of Southern Tamilnadu, in which 8,631 ladies participated and offered prayers for the welfare of self, family and the society.

8.Under Amrita Surabhi Scheme, our Kendra workers collected 588 Kgs of rice from Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Ramnad districts.

9.Through various branch centers and book stalls, literature books were sold for Rs. 22,435/-

10.Subscriptions for 74 Vivekavani, 2 years one, 3 years one, life one and 4 Patrons were collected.

11.80 women are being benefited in 4 Self Help Groups in Kanyakumari district.

12.Swadhyaya Varga was organised, one at Ramnad and one at Aruppukottai, in which 50 persons participated.

13.Yoga Varga has being conducted at three places, one each at Ramnad Thoothukudi, and Aruppukottai in which 73 persons attended.

14.5 tailoring units are functioning well, 4 in Tirunelveli district and 1 in Kanyakumari district with the total attendance of 94.

15.Shivalinga Poojas were conducted at two places in Kanyakumari District and 105 members participated.

16.Durga Pooja was conducted at two places, in Kanyakumari District in which 116 women participated.

17.1008 Deepa Poojas were conducted in Palavanatham on June 12 where 887 participated, at Ambai, on June 19 where 891 participated from more than 75 villages and at Thirupullani on June 26 where 807 participated. On June 12th and 26th ‘Maathar Maanadu’ and procession took place. On June 12th Secretary, RDP, Sri Ayyappan, Sri Sekar from Sankarankoil, Sri Nagasami of Kovilpatti and the Executive Officer of the temple participated. Bhajans and cultural programmes were performed by the local students. On 26th Sri Krishnamoorthiji, Secretary RDP, local well wishers participated in the ‘Maathar Maanadu’. On 19th at Agastheeswarar temple, Ambai, Kendra Vice President Ma, Nivedita didi, full time worker’s who were attending training, there and Sri Krishnamoorthiji, participated. 18.Anna Pooja was celebrated on June 26 at Aruppukottai in which 1300 kgs of rice was collected.

19.Personality development camps were conducted at Vallankumaranvilai of Kanyakumari district on June 10 & 11 in which 37 participated,

20.Sri Vivekananda’s 150th Birth anniversary committee meeting was held at Valliyoor, Kovilpatti and Aruppukottai in which 74 participated.

21.Educational aid was given on June 11 to the students of Sri Jeyendrar Matriculation School, Surandai. The donor was Sri Murugesabharathi. The students benefitted were Ms Ganeshya (Rs. 4000/-), Mast Muthu Subramaniam (Rs. 4000/-) of Tenkasi and Ms Vasanthi (Rs. 3000/-). Similarly on June 17, educational aid was given to the students at Ambasamudram. The beneficiaries were Ms.Nellai Nayaki and Ms. Sankara Gomathi of Ambai. The donor for this is Sri Sriganesh Nanagopal. Apart from this, through Swami Vivekananda Trust, high schools and college students of Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi were benefitted by the Educational Aid - students benefitted were Ms Pitchammal Rs 1000/-, Ms Muthu Selvi Rs. 1000/- and Sudalai Esakki Rs. 1500. Also Educational Aid was distributed from Kovilpatti (Rs. 9,000/-) and Virudhunagar (Rs. 8,000/-)

22.Cultural class Teacher’s Training were held on June 25, at Sankarankoil, where 14 participated.
23.This month, we have distributed the rice which was collected through Amrit Surabhi and Anna Pooja to Balwadi children, old poor people and also through the following institutions, educational institutions etc., as follows:

GURUPURNIMA CELEBRATION REPORT - RAJKOT VIBHAG

As we all know, Gurupurnima is one of the celebration occassion in Vivekananda Kendra. This year, Kendra's Rajkot Nagar and Vibhag celebrated this pious occassion with Karyakartas, their family members, well wishers etc.

In Rajkot Nagar, day was celebrated with Bhajan Sandhya, Power point presentation on Omkar-Sadhana. After both, another power point presentation about Kendra Parichay was displayed and along with it, a brief details about upcoming "Swami Vivekananda's 150th Birth Anniversary" was given to the present persons. About 80 persons attended this programme. Invitees were disbursed after taking "Prasad" of Laddus.

Similarly, Gurupurnima Celebrated in Morbi branch, where the programme was conducted in 4 different colleges, where total 750+ studetns attended the programme. Programmes were comprised with Ma.Niveditadidi's letter, 150th Anniversary details and Sinhnaad project.

In Chotila town also a programme was celebrated wherein 700+ students were present. After completion of the programme, School management requested to Kendra Karyakartas to arrange such and other types of programme in their school regularly.

In Veraval branch, Kendra Karyakartas gathered for celebration of Gurupurnima and Bhajan Sandhya was enchanted by the karyakartas.Shri Vinubhai Trivedi, Gujarat Prant
Sanchalak inspired the Karyakartas with his lecture. Total presence 19.

Vankaner (Sampark Sthan) also celebrated Gurupurnima Programme with Bhajan Sandhya at Gayatri Temple campus. After it, a lecture based on Ma.Niveditadidi's letter was delivered by Shri Naishadbhai Patel (Vibhag Vyavastha Pramukh) and details of further programme was also given. Total 12 persons were present in the programme. After completion of the programme, Temple management requested us to held some programme for the school run by them in the same campus.

Odisha Prant : Training Camp for Alpakalin Sevavrati Karyakartas


Alpakalin Training Camp

16 Alpakalin Sevavrati Karyakartas worked from 9th May 2011 to 19th June 2011 in different parts of Odisha Prant. These karyakartas were those who came in contact through Uttishthata! Jagrata! Yuva Pratiyogita 2010. A 6 days camp training was conducted from 8th May to 14th May 2011 at Gadavarish Mahavidyalaya, Banapur. 18 karyakartas attended the camp. Man. Bhanudasji, Man. Kishorji, Aa. Laxmi Narayanji Aa. Raviji and other Karyakartas guided the participants on the topics like Veera Vrat Dhari Bane!, Story of VRM, Vivekananda Kendra, Vijay Hi Vijay!!, Bharat! Vijayee Rashtra, Ama Odisha Baithak, Sampark, Anushasana aur Dinacharya.

These Karyakartas were in field from 15th May to 15th June 2011. They contacted degree and PG students at 8 nagar sthans like Bhubaneswar, Baripada, Baleswar, Kendujhar, Sambalpur, Banapur, Kusupur, Brahmapur and motivated youth to participate in the Yuva Netrutva Shibir. The students were contacted door to door, tuition centers, computer classes, hostels etc. Baithaks, Personality Development camps were conducted for them.

63 participants and 12 Alpakalin Sevavrati Karyakartas participated in a 3 day Yuva Netrutva Shibir from 16th June to 19th June 2011. The topics like Vande Bharat Mataram, Jadu Sangathit Karya ka, Vijay Hi Vijay!!, Vishva ko jo Chahiye Kya Bharat De sakta hai?, Mahavidyalayeen Samparka were discussed. These Karyakartas took sankalpa to work for Motherland through in Vijay Hi Vijay! Prakalpa.

"Samarth" Shikshak Shibir at Surat for B.Ed Teacher

“Samarth” Shikshak Shibir was conducted from 9th and 10th July 2011 by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari Surat Branch. The camp venue is Survoday B.ed College, Ghod Dod Road, Surat.

History of Vivekananda Rock Memorial, concept, activities of Vivekananda Kendra were highlighted by Sri.Jagdishbhai Mehta, Rajkot Vibhah Sangathak. In First lecture conducted by Man. Shitaldidi, Gujarat Prant Vyavstha Pramukh. And second lecture conducted by Jagdishbhai and Last lecture conducted by Shitaldidi.

There are 27 B.Ed student participated in this camp. There are 8 karyakartas are present in this camp. There are three section of yoga , three section of prerna se punrusthan and three section of lecture.

“Swananda” at Kanyakumari for IFFCO Senior Executives


Group Photo IFFCO Retreat“Swananda”the Yoga Pratiman designed for Executives and professionals – was successfully organized as Executive Retreat at Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari for the Senior Executives of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO). The 26 Key officials from the IFFCO’s five Production units at Gujarat (Kalol and Kandla), Uttar Pradesh ( Phulpur and Aonla) and Orissa (Paradeep) participated in the three day program which was conducted at Gramodaya Park, Viveknandapuram. The Program was inaugurated by Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Ma. Niveditadidi with Sri A.K. Singh, Senior Executive Director (Tech) IFFCO and Sri Krishnan, State Marketing Manager IFFCO.

Interactive Sessions were held on “Understanding happiness”, "Recognizing Stress”, “Know Thyself” and “Discovering Joy and fulfillment in life” by Ma. Niveditadidi and Ma. Hanumanthraoji - Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendra. Yoga Sessions, Lighter Moments, visit to Vivekananda Rock Memorial were other ingredients of the program. At concluding, the participants resolved to selflessly serve the family, organization, society and the Nation and experience “Oneness” with the Creation wherein lies the Joy and fulfillment of one’s life.

अनावासीय व्यक्तित्व विकास शिविर, हरदा

आत्मविश्वास के बल पर ही मिलती मंजिल


विवेकानन्द केन्द्र कन्याकुमारी, शाखा हरदा द्वारा बच्चों के लिए 24 से 26 जून; 2011 तक तीन दिवसीय अनावासीय व्यक्तित्व विकास शिविर का आयोजन किया गया. जिसमें बच्चों को सूर्यनमस्कार, खेल, गीत, बौद्धिक सत्र, मंथन एवं संस्कृत श्लोकों के माध्यम से भारतीय संस्कृति और स्वामी विवेकानन्द के तेजस्वी विचरों से रूबरू कराया गया.

बौद्धिक सत्र के अंतर्गत शिविर के पहले दिन वक्ता के रूप में श्री हेमंत जी टाले (अध्यक्ष, नगरपालिका हरदा) ने बच्चों को ‘मैं से हम’ विषय पर उदबोधन देते हुए कहा कि शारीरिक, मानसिक और बौद्धिक रूप से परिपक्व जागरूक नागरिक ही बेहतर समाज एवं देश की उन्नति में अपनी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा सकता हैं वहीँ शिविर के दूसरे दिन पुलिस विभाग से श्री संतोष कुमार मिश्रा जी ने बच्चों को बताया की आत्मविश्वास, एकाग्रता और समर्पण भाव से लबरेज बालक शून्य से शिखर तक पहुंच जाते हैं. इसलिए हर परिस्थिति में खुद पर विश्वास रखना चाहिए. आत्मविश्वास के बल पर ही कठिन से कठिन मंजिल को प्राप्त किया जा सकती हैं.

शिविर के अंतिम दिन श्री मयंक जी येवलेकर ने विवेकानन्द केन्द्र कन्याकुमारी द्वारा समाज और राष्ट्र के लिए किए जा रहे हैं मनुष्य निर्माण से राष्ट्र पुनरुथान के कार्य से बच्चों को अवगत कराया और विवेकानन्द केन्द्र द्वारा बच्चों के लिए चलाये संस्कार वर्ग में नियमित रूप से शामिल होकर अपने व्यक्तित्व विकास कर देश का अच्छा नागरिक बनने का आव्हान किया. शिविर के समापन पर शिविर में आए सभी अभिभावकों ने ख़ुशी के साथ अपने बच्चों के साथ विदाई लेते हुए विवेकानन्द केन्द्र हरदा का आभार व्यक्त किया.

Wandering Monk Exhibition Renovated

Wandering Monk Exhibition at Kanyakumari is now renovated with appealing elevation, alluring landscape, elegant interior andsuperb night lighting. The original art work and photographs have been enhanced with modern treatment for easy viewing. The renovated Exhibition at the heart of Kanyakumari was reopened on 28 April 2011 by Sri Rajendran, Revenue Development Officer, Kanyakumari District in the presence of Sri A.Balakrishnan, Vice President Vivekananda Kendra and Sri Hanumantharao, Treasurer Vivekananda Kendra.


आवासीय व्यक्तित्व विकास शिविर : भोपाल

आवासीय व्यक्तित्व विकास शिविर

विवेकानन्द केन्द्र कन्याकुमारी शाखा भोपाल द्वारा दिनांक 9 जून से 16 जून तक आवासीय व्यक्त्वि विकास शिविर नवीन कन्या उमा विद्यालय में आयोजित किया गया। इस शिविर में 23 बहनें तथा 46 भाई कुल 69 षिवीरार्थी एवं 25 कार्यकर्ता संचालन में कार्यरत थे।

इस शिविर में 8 से 17 वर्ष आयु के शिविरार्थीं ने उत्साह पूर्वक भाग लिया। शिविर का मुख्य विषय ”राष्ट्र गौरव” था। इस विषय को ध्यान में रखते हुऐ प्रतिदिन अलग - अलग विषय जैसे - देशभक्ति, चरित्र निर्माण, समर्पण, हमारे आदर्श, एवं त्याग। इन विशयों को खेल, गीत, कहानी, नाटक आदि के माध्यम से शिविरार्थीं को महत्व बताया। इस के अलावा प्रतिदिन एक घण्टा कौशल्य वर्ग के अंतर्गत - मिट्टी की मुर्ति, पेपर मेषी, संगीत, रायफल शुटिंग का भी शिविरार्थीं ने प्रशिक्षण लिया।

समापन के अवसर पर शालैय शिक्षा मंत्री अर्चनाजी चिटनिस व शिविरार्थीं के अभिभावक उपस्थित थे। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता श्री सुरेन्द्र जी मीत्तल ने की। अर्चनाजी ने स्वामी विवेकानन्द के जीवन की घटनाओं के बारे में शिविरार्थीं से बातचीत की तथा उनको देश-सेवा व समाज-सेवा हेतु प्रेरित किया।

With the motto of "Siva Bhave Jiva Seva" Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development program taking various activities. Here are the highlights of Activities in the Month of April.

In 230 Samskara Vargas, 6,912 students participated. The students were taught about the values of Indian Culture, through games, lectures & lessons. The feelings of oneness were strengthened among participants, through patriotic songs and games.

Deepa Poojas at were organized in 270 village temples in five districts of Southern Tamilnadu, in which 11,366 ladies participated and offered prayers for the welfare of self, family and the society.

Under Amrita Surabhi Scheme, our Kendra workers collected 1,401 Kgs of rice from Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram and Virudhunagar Districts.

80 women are being benefited in 4 Self Help Groups in Kanyakumari district.

Swadhyaya Varga was organised, one each in Arupukkottai and Ramnad, in which 50 persons participated.

Yoga Varga has being conducted at three places in Thoothukudi, Ramnad and Aruppukottai in which 62 persons attended.

3 tailoring units are functioning well in Valliyoor district and 1 in Kanyakumari district with the total attendance is 93.

Shivalinga Poojas were conducted at two places in Kanyakumari District and 104 members participated.

Durga Pooja was conducted at one place, in Kanyakumari District in which 102 women participated.

Chanting of Sri Rama Jaya Rama Mantra was held during Deepa Pooja, Shivalinga Pooja and also daily by our balwadi school children, cultural class students and during monthly meetings by our balwadi teachers and Social Workers. Every month nearly 5, 01,870 times mantras were chanted in 84 localities.

Swami Vivekanandar pictures were pasted in 80 houses in villages of Aruppukottai District.

Swami Vivekanandar Vizha was celebrated at three places during this month in which 420 people participated.

Gita Jayanthi was celebrated in 7 places & 955 persons attended the function.

Saraswathi didi Memorial Day was observed on the 15th of this month at our Kanyakumari, Valliyoor, Kovilpatti, Ramnad Kendra’s 71 Balwadi schools. PAYASAM & bananas were distributed to the student s of 71 Balawadi schools.

On April 14, 2011, Anna Pooja was conducted at two places in Thoothukudi namely, Sri Kaliamman koil, Karapettai and Ganapathy temple, Chidambaram Nagar. About 4,800 kgs of rice was collected and over 200 devotees graced the occasion. The rice was put as a heap and the idol of Annapoorni was placed on top of it for the puja, where Annapoorni Ashtothram and 11th Chapter of Bhagavath Gita were recited. Smt. Gowri Rajasekar – Kendra well wisher graced the occasion by her presence and also gave a lecture on Pancha Maha Yagnam. She briefed about the family and the importance of its welfare. She also quoted the importance of empathy and benefits that could be reaped.
These two months we have distributed the rice which is collected through Amrit Surabhi and Anna Pooja to Balwadi children, old poor people and also the following institutions, educational institutions etc., as follows:

2. Mouna Gurusamy Madam, Thottiyodu - 200 Kg.
3. Avvai Ashram, Sivasailam - 200 Kg.

6. Jothi Primary School, Kumbikulam - 100 Kg.
7. Balwadi child and Grannies - 5,175 Kg.

Personality development camps were conducted one each in the districts of Valliyoor & Ramnad where 25 and 58 participated, respectively, whereas, a total of seven camps were conducted in the district of Aruppukottai and 313 participated.

खंडवा मंडल के बुरहानपुर जिले में दिनांक १२,१३,१४ मई २०११ को शिक्षकों के मोटिवेशन के लिए २ "समर्थ-शिक्षक उन्मुखीकरण कार्यशालाओं " का आयोजन किया गया|

Samartha camp for teachers - 2प्रथम दिवस उद्घाटन सत्र में विवेकानंद केंद्र खंडवा के नगर संयोजक श्री सुधाकर जोशी,ब्लाक ऑफिसर श्री बालकर जी एवं बी.जी.सी.श्री सुधाकर माकुंडे उपस्थित रहे और शिक्षकों का स्वागत किया|

पहले दिन का पॉवर पॉइंट प्रेजेंटेशन का सञ्चालन श्री श्यामकांत देशपांडे ने किया -इन्होने ''शिक्षक -कभी न झुकने वाला " सत्र में कहा कि सभी समस्यायों के बावजूद भी जब शिक्षक स्वयं को पहचानते हुए ,परिस्थिति का रचनात्मक प्रत्युत्तर देगा तभी सकारात्मक परिवर्तन आएगा|

दुसरे पॉवर पॉइंट प्रेजेंटेशन- "सारा दायित्व अपने ऊपर लो " का सञ्चालन श्री विनोद यादव ने किया,उन्होंने बताया कि शिक्षक यदि अपने प्रभाव क्षेत्र- कक्षा,विद्यार्थी,अभिभावक एवं सहकर्मियों पर कार्य करे तो उसकी चिंता का क्षेत्र धीरे-धीरे कम होकर प्रभाव क्षेत्र बढ़ने लगेगा और वह परिस्थितियों का निर्माणकर्ता होकर राष्ट्र निर्माता शिक्षक बन सकेगा|

तीनों दिनों की समर्थ कार्यशाला स्वामी विवेकानंद के प्रसिद्ध उद्धरण -"उठो ! जागो !! और लक्ष्य प्राप्ति तक रुको नहीं " पर आधारित रही ,तीसरे दिन के सत्र का सञ्चालन श्री रवि वर्मा ने किया और बताया कि हम शिक्षको ने एकत्व का अनुभव किया है और उसे अपने जीवन में ढालने को तत्पर है,अब इसे परम्परा के रूप में प्रस्थापित करे ताकि इसका लम्बे समय तक परिणाम प्राप्त हो|

इसके अतिरिक्त कार्यशाला में शिक्षको के लिए विशेष यौगिक और सूक्ष्म व्यायाम -प्राणायाम के साथ ही कई सृजनात्मक खेल ,चर्चाएँ,देशभक्ति गीतों का गायन इत्यादि गतिविधियाँ भी कि गई|

कार्यशालाओं के दौरान जिला परियोजना समन्वयक श्री पी.सी.शर्मा एवं क्षेत्रीय परियोजना समन्वयक श्री शिवाजी राव पाटिल का भी शुभ आगमन हुआ|

प्रथम कार्यशाला में ४२ और द्वितीय में ९८ शिक्षक सहभागी रहे,कार्यक्रम के समापन में खंडवा से सीनियर एडवोकेट श्री पद्माकर गजान्कुश पधारे और उन्होंने शिक्षकों को धन्यवाद् ज्ञापित किया|

V.K. Vidyalayas – Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Re-Orientation Camp - 2011

Teachers Re-Orientation Camp – 2011 was conducted from 25th to 29th May 2011. It was the collective venture of VKV, Kanyakumari, VKV, Vallioor & VKV, Thiruppoor. Among the five days first three days it was held in VKV, Kanyakumari and last two days in VKV, Vallioor.

The camp was inaugurated by Man. Niveditadidi, Vice President VRM & VK. All the five days the teachers were enlightened by Sri. Veluswamyji, by his lecture on Communicative approach – Reading, writing, techniques of teaching, brain storming & role play, class room management, etc.

History of rock memorial, concept, activities of Vivekananda Kendra were high lighted by Sri.G. Krishna Swamyji, Vibhah Sangathak, VK, Tamil Nadu&Kerala. Patriotic spirit was induced by among all the participants by Sarita Didi, by teaching many patriotic songs. All the participants, presented different topics on Incidents of Swami Vivekananda.

During the concluding ceremony Sri. S.K. Subramoniam, Correspondent, VKV, Vallioor, Prof.Balamurugan, T.D.M.N.S. College, Kallikulam & Man. Aparna Didi,All India Vyavastha Pramukh, gave thought provoking speeches and blessed all the participants.

GUJARAT PRANT KARYAKARTA PRASHIKSHAN SHIBIR

Prant KPS - 2After completion of Vibhas Level Karyakarta Prashikshan Shibirs in respective Vibhag of Gujarat, a State Level Karyakarta Prashikshan Shibir concluded recently at Morbi, Dist : Rajkot.

All the Karyakartas and 17 Participants made reporting at Shibir Venue on 14th May, 2011 and after registration procedure, Shibir commenced with Bhajan Sandhya. Thereafter, Vivekananda Kendra’s Gujarat Prant Pramukh Shri Narendrabhai Trivedi inspired the participants for further huge task of 150th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in his “Bij-Vyakhyan”. After Bhojan, “Prerana se Punarutthan” session brought all the participants closer. After it, Gana-saha Baithaks of participants’ team were conducted.

Next morning, all the Karyakartas and Participants heard a very very powerful sound of “Shankh-Dhwani” as an “Jagaran” (wake up) call at 4.30 am. It was really an amazing experience to wake up with “Shankh-Dhwani” on all 7 days. At sharp 5.15 am, Pratah Smaran (Morning Prayer) held followed by Yoga-Abhyas, Karma Yoga Shloka Bhavarth and Kendra Prarthana Bhavarth. It is important to note that entire Shibir was themed with “Yoga Satra se Yoga Varga tak” (From Yoga Satra to Yoga Varga) and accordingly, all 7 days, participants were trained with all aspects of Yoga like Loosening exercise, Surya Namaskar, Asanas, Pranayam, Sessions on Yoga, Agya Abhyas, Khel Satra, Mantra Chanting Abhyas etc.

Over and above regular Baudhik Satras, participants made well-equipped with informative & interactive sessions under the head of “Naipunya Satra” contaning the subjects like Publication, Projects, Programme (Purva Niyojan-Purna Niyojan-Anuvartan), Patrons, Baithak, Samparka, Nidhi Sankalan, Utsavas etc.

Manthan Satra has its own importance in Vivekananda Kendra’s Shibir. In this Shibir, all the Manthan Satras conducted based on the book “Seva hi Sadhana”.

On the concluding day of the Shibir, all Karyakartas and Participants performed non-stop 108 Surya Namaskar on the bank of River “Machchhu” (2 Km away from Shibir Venue). It was really an extra ordinary scene.

We all know that Morbi city is world famous for manufacturing of Quartz Clocks and one Shri Odhavjibhai Ramjibhai Patel (“ORPAT” in short) is the pioneer in this industries. Today, Shri O.R.Patel (ORPAT)himself is a brand name at world level. This miracle person is a founder person of Vivekananda Kendra’s activities in the city of Morbi since 1989. With this deep bondage, Shri O.R.Patel, inspite of his illness, remained present during whole “Ahuti Satra”. After completion of Shibir, he rewind his golden memories with Kendra.

On 21st May, 2011, Shibir concluded with “Maha-Prasad” and all participants (now transformed into Kendra Karyakartas) departed to their respective home town to join the Maha-Yajna of Man Making-Nation Building with echoes of Shibir geet “Charaiveti…Charaiveti…."

Vyaktitva Vikas Shivir at Gaya

N.R.P.D.C.of Gaya.Kendra - 2A non residential Vyaktitva Vikas Shivir was conducted by Vivekananda Kendra,Kanyakumari Branch- Gaya at 22nd May to 29th May 2011. The Shivir was inaugurate by Ma. Balmukund Agamya, a famous poet of Gaya, Dr. Nandan Sinha,Director, Gaya Public High School, Shree Virendra Pathak Ex. President, Rashtra Seva Dal, Bihar Prant & Shree Ramavatar Prasad,Varishtha Karyakarta of Gaya Kendra. 30 Children’s from different places attended the Shivir.

National Yoga Shiksha Shibir 5-19 May, 2011 at Kanyakumari

Since 1976, Vivekananda Kendra is organizing “Yoga Shiksha Shibirs” at Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari for the propagation of Yoga way of life and to help the participants in their spiritual growth. It is also to make the participants aware of the current social situations and the responsibility of every citizen for the constructive contribution for the betterment of the society. .

Yoga Shiksha Shibir

This year’s first Yoga Shiksha Shibir was organized from 5-19 May and today is its concluding day.

The reporting date of the Shibir was 4th May 2011 wherein most of the participants reported. The Shibir was formally Inaugurated by Adarniya Mamaji on the morning of 5th May 2011.


In all 55 participants, 45 Brothers and 10 sisters, participated from the 13 states of India, namely Assam, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, New Delhi and Bihar. One participant was from Prague, Czechoslovakia.


The Shibir was conducted in Hindi as well as English Languages and some of the sessions were common.


The Participants were organized into 6 groups named after the historical cities of India : Ayodhya, Mathura, Awantia, Haridwar, Kashi and Kanchi.


During the Shibir, Practical Yogabhyas was conducted in the morning and evening where in Asanas, Pranayama, Suryanamaskar, relaxation techniques were taught. Also amongst the shat-kriyas, Jal-neti and Waman Dhauti was practiced.


Lectures were deliverd on Yoga Concept, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnan Yoga, Bhagavad Gita, Happiness Analysis, Indian Culture, Challenges before Indian Culture, Story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Vivekananda Kendra its activities and prayer.


Manthan was done on many a lecture topics and on the book :”Rousing call to the Hindu Nation”.


During the Shibir, Participants visited Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari Temple and Suchindram Temple. Also all went for trekking to Marut Malai mountain. Campus visit was organized for familiarizing the participants with exhibitions in the Campus.


Shram Samskar, Geet Abhyas, Bhajan Sandhya were the other Highlights. Participants unwinded themselves at the Happy Assembly at night wherein participants shared their talents with songs games and thought presentations. The highlight of the Camp was the Drama presentation by the participants on VRM. Films on VRM, VKV and Chanakya were also shown.


In all, the whole camp was held with moderate discipline in a congenial and lively atmosphere.

Health Worker camp at Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh

Medical Camp KhonsaITANAGAR, May 16: Three days Health Worker Training Camp organized at Khonsa, Tirap by Vivekananda Kendra, Arun Jyoti successfully concluded on May 15.

14 youths from Tirap, Changlang and East Siang participated in the residential camp held at Vivekananda Kendra’s Bank Colony centre. Dr.K.Matey (M.O.), Dr.P.Rakshit (S.M.O.), Dr.S.Roy(S.M.O.) Dr.D.Adhikari(M.O. VKAJ)and other paramedical staffs of District Hospital ,Khonsa took the technical sessions and practical sessions.

It is to be mentioned that the mobile medical van of Arun Jyoti with their own Doctor covers 12 villages of Tirap district and conduct regular medical camps and awareness activities.
