Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag, Mysore Nagarsthan organized an Amrita Parivar Milan on 29th June 2026 at the residence of Smt. Shyla Didi, Shakti Nagar. The programme witnessed the participation of 18 members.

The programme commenced with prayer, followed by self-introductions. Shri Aravinda ji, Karnataka Prant Pravasi Karyakarta, Vivekananda Kendra introduced the participants to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Vivekananda Kendra, and its various seva activities. The participants collectively chanted the Lingashtakam and actively participated in a discussion on Swadharma, Swabhasha, Swadeshi, and Swabhimana, highlighting their relevance in daily life.

The programme concluded with the patriotic songs "Chandan Hai Desh Ki Mati" and "Namma Mane," fostering a spirit of unity, cultural pride, and national consciousness among the participants.

Vimarsha Programme on Hindu Samrajyotsava Diwas organized at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag, Mysore Branch organized a Vimarsha programme on 20 June 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The event, centered on the topic "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj-Hindu Samrajyotsava Diwas," drew a total of 35 participants, with 27 joining online and 8 attending offline.

The keynote speaker, Sri Nagesh Prabhu Ji, Vyavastha Pramukh, Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag, delivered an insightful address tracing the glory of ancient India and its global influence. He highlighted the severe challenges external invasions posed to the nation's culture, dharma, and values, and explained how Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj envisioned and established Hindavi Swarajya to restore freedom, self-respect, and national pride.

Furthermore, Sri Nagesh Prabhu Ji emphasized the deep significance of Hindu Samrajyotsava, which commemorates Shivaji Maharaj’s historic coronation and the dawn of a kingdom built entirely on justice, courage, and self-rule. The inspiring discourse left the attendees motivated to emulate Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals of protecting dharma, respecting all communities, and serving society with unwavering dedication and integrity.

"Plan 10" Seminar at Mysore Inspires 10th Standard Students

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag, Mysore Nagar, Hanumanalu karyasthan successfully organized a seminar titled "Plan 10" on June 6, 2026, at the Shree Sharada Shikshana Samsthe, Hanumanalu. The workshop saw an enthusiastic turnout of 52 students who have just commenced their crucial 10th-standard academic year.

The insightful session was conducted by Sri Rishikesh anna, Yuva Pramukh of Chamundeshwari Vibhag. With the academic term just getting underway, he provided the students with invaluable, actionable strategies to navigate their board year effectively. Sri Rishikesh anna strongly emphasized the importance of maintaining unwavering attentiveness during classroom lectures, establishing a disciplined routine for daily self-study at home, and creating personalized notes alongside regular revisions to solidify understanding.

By providing these foundational planning tips right at the beginning of the academic cycle, the seminar equipped the students with the tools and mindset needed to structure their entire year for academic excellence and personal growth.

World Environment Day Observed with Sapling Plantation at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Vibhag, Mysore Nagar organized a meaningful initiative to celebrate World Environment Day on June 5, 2026. The event saw the active participation of 8 Karyakartas from the Mysore Karyalaya.

In alignment with the environmental vision of the Kendra, each participant took a Sankalpa to contribute towards a greener planet, translating their pledge into direct action by planting saplings along the roadside. This initiative marked a small step towards strengthening their commitment to community welfare, environmental sustainability, and fostering a shared responsibility for nurturing nature.

Amrit Parivar Milan organized at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag, Mysore Branch organized an Amrit Parivar Milan on May 20, 2026, at the residence of Sri Krishna ji Vistar Pramukh in Vidyashankar Nagar.

The program commenced with a soulful prayer and the Amrit Parivar song, followed by an introductory address by Smt. Gayatri Akka, Vibhag Amrit Parivar Pramukh, who welcomed Mananeeya Shri Bhanudasji, All India General Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra. After a warm interactive session where all participants introduced themselves, Mananeeya Bhanudas ji briefed the gathering on the history of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, the core activities of Vivekananda Kendra, and the vital role families play in nation-building. The event also featured an insightful discussion on the modern challenges faced by families, which was elegantly concluded by Smt. Parvati Didiand Smt. Gayatri Didi.

Marking a significant step forward for the local branch, two new Sankulas were formed during the program, with two dedicated karyakartas stepping up to take sankul pramukh responsibilities, while Sri Krishna ji was formally appointed as the Vistar Pramukh.

Parivar Milan organized at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeswari Devi Vibhag, Mysore Branch organzied a Pariwar Milan on April 29, 2026. The gathering brought together 19 participants for a meaningful evening of spiritual and communal bonding.

The program started with prayer, followed by a song and an insightful Kendra Parichaya conducted by Aadaraneeya Aravinda Bhaiya, who introduced the core values and activities of Vivekananda Kendra.

A significant portion of the event was dedicated to an enlightening talk by Smt. Gayatri Akka on the concept of Amrita Parivar, drawing wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita. This was followed by a soul-stirring Bhajan and an engaging group discussion centered on Dharma, with a specific focus on the principles and responsibilities of Grusta Dharma. The session successfully fostered deep reflection on maintaining a value-based family life.

The program concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra and the distribution of Prasada. Moving forward, the group reached a collective decision to strengthen these ties by meeting once every 15 days for continued follow-up and learning.

Soft Skill Training session organized at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Vibhag, Mysore Branch organized an impactful Soft Skill Training session at the Kendra Karyalaya on March 29, 2026, attended by 13 participants.

The programme commenced with a spiritual invocation consisting of three Omkaras and the Sahana Vavatu prayer, followed by a stirring patriotic song rendered by Kum. Supriya Didi. The session officially opened with Sri Aravinda Bhaiya, who warmly introduced and welcomed the resource person for the day, Sri Vishwanathan Ji.

The core of the programme was an introductory session on soft skills led by Sri Vishwanathan Ji. He emphasized the importance of a positive attitude as the foundation for personal and professional growth. Through simple examples and interactive discussions, he explained how confidence shapes communication, decision-making, and overall personality. Participants were encouraged to overcome self-doubt and develop a growth mindset. The session also highlighted practical ways to build confidence, such as self-awareness, consistent practice, and clear expression of thoughts.

The training concluded on a motivating note, inspiring everyone to work on their inner strengths and present themselves more effectively in real-life situations.

Sri Rama Navami Celebration at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag, Mysore Branch, celebrated Sri Rama Navami on March 27, 2026, with great spiritual fervor and devotion. The festivities were organized across two primary locations Jayanagar and Vijayanagar, bringing together devotees to honor the birth of Lord Rama. A total of 800 people attend the festivities.

The celebration was marked by a soulful Rama Bhajan and a traditional Pooja, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion. A highlight of the event was the insightful narration of the Balkand from the Ramayana by Kum. Dharmik, which captivated the audience with the timeless virtues of the Maryada Purushottama. In the spirit of selfless service, a grand Annadanam was organized at both venues.

Anandalaya Utsava at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag, Mysore Branch, was successfully organized the Anandalaya Utsava, a vibrant inter-Anandalaya cultural meet, held on February 22, 2026. This grand gathering saw a total attendance of 494 people including, 246 Students, and18 Anandalaya Shishaks from 16 Anandalaya, 48 Senior Children, 8 Vibhaga Karyakartas, 26 Nagar Karyakartas, 126 College Students and 17 Parents.

The program commenced with the auspicious Deepa Prajwalana by the chief guest, Sri Anandamurti Ji, followed by a warm welcome from Sri Siddegowda ji and a stirring rendition of “Vande Mataram” by Sri Rishikesh ji.

A significant highlight of the event was the release of the Kannada translation of the “Kishori Vikasa” book by Smt. Shruti Didi, complemented by Sri Anandamurti Ji’s insightful address on the role of Samskaras in youth development. Under the efficient coordination of Kum. Kavana Didi and the thematic introduction by Sri Aravinda ji, the day transitioned into a series of spirited cultural competitions.

Students showcased their devotion and talent through the recitation of Bhagavad Gita verses, Hanuman Chalisa, Shlokas, and Viveka Vani, as well as participating in Quiz rounds, Folk Dance, and a disciplined display of Surya Namaskar.

Dr. A. S. Chandrashekhar Ji, Vibhaga Sanchalak, further inspired the audience by sharing stories of Swami Vivekananda ji and emphasizing the importance of values and Rashtra Seva (national service).

The Utsava concluded with the Shanti Mantra, leaving every participant with a sense of pride as children and teachers were honored with gifts and the Vyavastha Dinadarshini as tokens of appreciation for their dedication.

The Kishori Vikas Workshop at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch, organized the Kishori Vikas workshop on February 21, 2026, at Sri Sharada Shikshana Samsthe in Hanumanaalu, Mysore. The event brought together 60 Kishoris, 6 teachers, and 5 Kendra Karyakartas.

The program began with the release and distribution of the Kishori Vikasa book to all participating Kishoris. Smt. Tanuja didi introduced the Kendra karyakartas – Ms. Gayatri Didi, Ms.Vasumathi Didi, Ms. Supriya, and Ms. Sowmya Didi. Ms. Supriya served as the anchor for the event.

Ms. Vasumathi Didi rendered two soulful bhajans and presented a patriotic song. Ms. Sowmya Didi sang the Kishori Vikas Geet, then introduced Vivekananda Kendra and elaborated on the objectives of Kishori Vikas workshop, emphasizing mental empowerment, safety, and emotional protection within the family. Ms. Sowmya Didi demonstrated useful hand mudras for the Kishoris. This was followed by a speech on becoming the architect of one’s own life, highlighting the vital role of mothers in the family and drawing inspiration from the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda on women.

Ms. Gayatri Didi spoke about social protection for women and highlighted various ways to achieve it. She provided detailed guidance on adolescent health, spoke about nurturing “Ojas,” and emphasized fostering self-reliance among women. She then conducted three interactive activities, including identifying Shreyas and Preyas.

Ms. Supriya Didi conducted a 20-minute practical session on Yogasanas and Surya Namaskar. She also addressed important topics such as friendship, love, social media, and beauty, stressing that inner beauty surpasses external appearance. She cited the inspiring example of Dr. Droupadi Murmu, the Honourable President of India, followed by slogans.

The workshop also included a short question-and-answer session, followed by three simple and enjoyable games organized by Ms. Supriya didi. The program concluded with the Kendra Prayer.

Health Camp at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch, Hanumanalu Karyasthan successfully organized a comprehensive Health Camp on January 23rd, 2026, in the premises of Sree Sharada Shikshana Samsthe. 189 people benefitted from the health camp.

The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the Deepa and a soulful prayer. Sri Aravinda ji welcomed a dedicated team of 14 doctors arriving from the Government Nature Cure and Yoga Hospital. During the inaugural session, Dr. Sandeep Ji and Dr. Bharat Ji addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of holistic health and the specific goals of the camp.

The medical team employed a diverse range of natural and traditional treatments. Therapies: Sooji Chikitsa (Acupuncture), Water therapy, Heat therapy, and Physiotherapy. Wellness: Guided Yoga and Meditation sessions. General Screening: Routine blood pressure checkups and consultations.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Nagarsthan, celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 18 January 2026 at the Kendra Karyalaya. The programme witnessed the participation of 53 students, 26 elders, and 14 karyakartas, reflecting enthusiastic community involvement.

The celebration commenced with Omkar chanting and the recitation of Sahanavavatu, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere. This was followed by the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ song by the students of Vijaya Vittala School and a patriotic song presented by Kumari Lakshana.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. A. S. Chandrashekhar Ji, Nagar Sanchalak, Mysore, who spoke about the life, values, and timeless message of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing character building, self-confidence, and service to the nation.

A brief Kendra Parichaya was presented, highlighting the various service activities of Vivekananda Kendra and inviting participants to associate actively with its mission. Participation certificates were distributed to students who had taken part in the Vande Mataram Song Competition held on 10 January.

The programme concluded on a positive and inspiring note, strengthening awareness about Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and encouraging greater involvement in Kendra activities.

Bhagavad Gita Recitation Competition at Mysore

On the occasion of Gita Jayanti, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch organized a Bhagavad Gita Recitation Competition on 29 November 2025 at the Kendra Karyalaya, Jayanagar. The programme witnessed the participation of 76 students from 12 different schools. In addition, 73 parents were present, and 13 karyakartas were actively involved in organizing and conducting the event.

The competition focused on the recitation of the 12th Chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, encouraging students to engage deeply with the teachings of Bhakti Yoga. The students participated with devotion and discipline, reflecting a sincere effort to understand and internalize the message of the Gita.

As a follow-up to the programme, it was decided to initiate Sankula formation at four places, thereby extending the impact of Gita Jayanti celebrations into regular value-based family activities.

Vidhya Nidhi Samarpana programme at Mysore

On the auspicious occasion of Sadhana Diwas, 19th November 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch, organized a meaningful service initiative titled Vidhya Nidhi Samarpana. The program focused on supporting education and self-reliance among economically underprivileged sections of society.

As part of this initiative, scholarships and educational assistance amounting to ₹1,85,000 were distributed. A total of 28 needy students benefited from the scholarship support, including children from the Karyasthan at Hanumanalu village and three college-going students. To facilitate higher education and digital learning, two laptops were provided to deserving students. In addition, one sewing machine was gifted to a needy mother to support her livelihood and promote self-reliance.

North East Calling programme at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant organized the Northeast Calling Programme on 16 November 2025 at the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysore, to celebrate the vibrant spirit, cultural richness, and developmental journey of Bharat’s Northeast region. The programme highlighted the unique heritage of the eight Northeastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura—and showcased Vivekananda Kendra’s sustained seva activities in the region since the 1970s, guided by the vision of Development through Culture. A total of 150 participants, including invitees, Karyakartas, and CIIL staff members, attended the programme.

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Dr. R. Balasubramaniam Ji, Member, Human Resource – Capacity Building Commission, Government of India, and Founder, Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement; Mananeeya Kum. Nivedita Bhide Didi, Vice President, Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari; and Prof. Shailendra Mohan Ji, Director, CIIL, Mysore.

Shri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar Ji, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Mysuru–Kodagu, conveyed his good wishes through a video message.

The programme commenced with three Omkaras and the chanting of Sahanavavatu, followed by the traditional Deepa Prajwalana. Shri Ramesh Bhat Ji presented Kendra Parichaya, highlighting the wide-ranging seva activities of Vivekananda Kendra in the Northeastern states as well as in Karnataka.

Cultural performances formed a vibrant part of the programme, reflecting the spirit of unity in diversity. Students of Sharada Shikshana Samsthe, Hanumanalu presented a patriotic Kannada song, while students of Vijaya Vittala School rendered a Northeastern song in the Khasi language. A traditional Northeastern dance performed by students of Sharada Shikshana Samsthe added colour and energy to the celebrations.

As a mark of gratitude, Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy Ji was felicitated for his valuable contribution during the construction of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial.

In his address, Prof. Shailendra Mohan Ji warmly welcomed the dignitaries and participants. In his video message, Shri Yaduveer Wadiyar Ji expressed his appreciation for the programme and extended his best wishes for Vivekananda Kendra’s continued work in the Northeast. Dr. R. Balasubramaniam Ji emphasized the strategic, cultural, economic, and ecological significance of Northeast India and underlined the importance of its integration into the national mainstream for preserving India’s unity and sovereignty.

Mananeeya Nivedita Bhide Didi spoke on Vivekananda Kendra’s four-decade-long engagement in the Northeast, stating that the region is not merely welcomed but deeply cherished by the people, and that its many success stories stand as testimony to the Kendra’s commitment to holistic development through culture.

An exhibition featuring publications of Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture and Vivekananda Kendra Prakashan was also organized. Handcrafted shawls, bags, and traditional gamchas produced by the Khatkhati branch were prominently displayed, reflecting the rich craftsmanship and cultural heritage of the Northeastern region.

The programme concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, followed by lunch and informal interaction, bringing the meaningful and memorable celebration to a graceful conclusion.
