Swami Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration at Mysore


Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Nagarsthan, celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 18 January 2026 at the Kendra Karyalaya. The programme witnessed the participation of 53 students, 26 elders, and 14 karyakartas, reflecting enthusiastic community involvement.

The celebration commenced with Omkar chanting and the recitation of Sahanavavatu, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere. This was followed by the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ song by the students of Vijaya Vittala School and a patriotic song presented by Kumari Lakshana.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. A. S. Chandrashekhar Ji, Nagar Sanchalak, Mysore, who spoke about the life, values, and timeless message of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing character building, self-confidence, and service to the nation.

A brief Kendra Parichaya was presented, highlighting the various service activities of Vivekananda Kendra and inviting participants to associate actively with its mission. Participation certificates were distributed to students who had taken part in the Vande Mataram Song Competition held on 10 January.

The programme concluded on a positive and inspiring note, strengthening awareness about Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and encouraging greater involvement in Kendra activities.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and School’s Annual Day Celebration at VKV Kanyakumari

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu Prant), organized the celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, observed nationally as National Youth Day, along with the Annual Day of the school, on Monday, 12th January 2026 at 2.00 p.m. The programme was held at Swami Vivekananda Sabhagruham, Vivekanandapuram, with great reverence, patriotic fervour, and a deep sense of inspiration. The celebration aimed to honour the life, ideals, and vision of Swami Vivekananda and to motivate students to cultivate courage, discipline, self-confidence, and a spirit of selfless service to the nation. A total of 1,500 students, parents, and teachers participated in the celebration.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the invocation, ‘Vande Mataram.’ The event was efficiently compered by Smt. P. Jeya, Teacher.

The welcome address was delivered by Smt. K. G. Sariga, Principal of the school who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest Shri G. Senthil KumarSuperintendent of Post Offices, Kanyakumari Division, Nagercoil; the Special Guest Shri P. PalvannanDeputy General Manager (Retd.), ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri; and Mananeeya Shri HanumantharaojiAll-India Vice President of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra. She also extended her welcome to the dignitaries, parents, teachers, and students, emphasizing the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary as a perennial source of inspiration for the youth.

The Annual Report of the school was then presented by Smt. K. G. Sariga, highlighting the academic achievements of students, co-curricular and cultural activities, sports accomplishments, value-based education initiatives, and community service activities undertaken during the year. The report reflected the institution’s unwavering commitment to holistic education rooted in the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

Following this, students of the school rendered a melodious and inspiring group song, conveying the message of patriotism, unity, and devotion to the nation.

The special address was delivered by Shri P. Palvannan, Deputy General Manager (Retd.), ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri. In his insightful and motivating speech, he emphasized the importance of scientific temper, discipline, and moral courage in students’ lives. He highlighted the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, underscoring the need for respect towards elders and teachers, self-reliance, humility, simplicity, and disciplined living. Referring to the celebration of National Youth Day since 1985 and Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the Chicago Parliament of Religions, he urged students to perform their duties with purity, sincerity, and dedication, serving both home and nation.

The prize distribution ceremony followed, during which students were honoured for their outstanding achievements in academics and co-curricular activitie. The prize list was read by Smt. Maheswari, Teacher. Vasista House won the trophy for excellence in Extra Curricular Activities, which was received by the House in-charges and student toppers.

The Chief Guest, Shri G. Senthil Kumar, addressed the gathering and appreciated the profound philosophy and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. He highlighted the importance of education, character building, and selfless service in shaping the younger generation. He also advised students to avoid unnecessary technological distractions and to use advancements in technology and artificial intelligence wisely for personal and national growth.

In his presidential address, Mananeeya Shri Hanumantaraoji spoke about the nationwide significance of Youth Day celebrations and reflected on the life of Swami Vivekananda, born as Narendra Datta, and his spiritual transformation. He urged students to absorb the ideas imparted by their teachers and to focus equally on academic excellence, spiritual growth, and character development. Emphasizing fearlessness, self-confidence, love for the nation, and respect for culture and tradition, he called upon students to become responsible and tolerant citizens. He reminded them that tolerance does not imply accepting wrong actions and encouraged them to stay away from negative influences, quoting the teachings of Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Holy Mother Shri Sarada Devi.

As a token of gratitude, mementos were presented to the dignitaries by Mananeeya Shri Hanumantaraoji. The vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Sanjeev Rajan, Vice Principal of the school, who expressed heartfelt thanks to all dignitaries, guests, parents, teachers, students, and organizers for their valuable contributions to the success of the programme.

The celebration concluded with a vibrant cultural programme presented by the students, featuring Bharatanatyam, dramas, and dances performed with enthusiasm and confidence, followed by the Shanti Mantra. The celebration of the Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and the school’s Annual Day was a grand success, reinforcing the harmonious integration of education, culture, and spirituality.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti celebration at Sandeepani Shishuvihar

Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungallur (Kerala Prant), organized the Swami Vivekananda Jayanti celebration at Sandeepani Shishuvihar on 12 January 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon. The programme witnessed the participation of 35 people, including students, teachers, and parents.

The programme was graced by Shri Harishankar Ji as the Chief Guest, who shared the inspiring message of Swami Vivekananda with the children in a simple and motivating manner. Mananeeya Lakshmi Kumari Didi, Director of VK-VVF, Adaraneeya Shri Sudhakar Ji, and Kum. Bindu Chechi were also present on the occasion and blessed the children.

As part of the celebration, the students of Sandeepani Shishuvihar dressed up as Swami Vivekananda and presented some of his famous quotes, beautifully conveying his inspiring thoughts to the gathering. The programme created a joyful and inspiring atmosphere for the children and participants.

The celebration concluded with the Kendra Prarthana, marking the programme as a meaningful and memorable observance of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration at Sangli

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Maharashtra Prant, Pashchim-Maharashtra-Vibhag, Sangli Karyasthan, organized a programme to celebrate Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 12 January 2026 at 11.00 a.m. at V.P. Institute of Management studies & research, Sangli. The programme was conducted with the objective of spreading the inspiring thoughts of Swami Vivekananda and motivating youth to recognize their responsibility towards the nation. 60 students attended the programme.

The event was graced by Shri Shreekant Walvadkar ji, Retired Group Captain, Indian Air Force; Dr.R.M.Yallatti ji, Principal of the Institute; and Shri Sunil Kulkarni ji, Nagar Sangathak, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Sangli Branch.

The programme commenced with floral tributes to the portraits of Swami Vivekananda and Rajmata Jijau. Principal Dr.R.M.Yallatti ji welcomed the dignitaries and delivered the introductory address. Ms. Madhura Pujari spoke about the transformative journey of Narendra into Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing the importance of self-development, character building, and dedication to a higher purpose.

A patriotic song titled “Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyon” further elevated the spirit of nationalism among the participants. In his address, Shri Shreekant Walvadkar ji inspired the youth to serve the nation, particularly by considering careers in the Armed Forces. He emphasized that sincere effort and disciplined hard work in the present would ensure a fulfilling and regret-free future.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Shri Govande ji, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, organizers, and participants for making the celebration meaningful and inspiring.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration by VKAJ Wakro

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti (Arunachal Prant), Wakro, organized the celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 12 January 2026 at the Kendra Karyalaya premises, commencing at 11.00 a.m. 

The programme was graced by Sri M. C. Mitra, PTI Teacher, who attended as the resource person. In his address, he highlighted the life, ideals, and inspiring message of Swami Vivekananda, motivating the participants to cultivate discipline, self-confidence, and dedication towards society and the nation.

Volunteers from different places actively participated in the celebration. The programme witnessed a total participation of 54 people, including 16 karyakartas, making the event meaningful and inspiring for all present.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and National Youth Day Celebration at RT Nagar

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar Nagarsthan observed Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, commemorated as National Youth Day, on 12th January 2026 at Samhita School of Performing Arts. The programme witnessed the participation of 54 attendees, including 51 students and 3 teachers.

The celebration commenced with Deepa Prajwalan, performed by the students of Samskara Varga, setting an inspiring tone for the programme. The students then presented Vivekavani, narrating and explaining its meaning with clarity and confidence. Smt. Thara Didi addressed the gathering, elaborating on Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and the qualities to be imbibed in daily life, and also briefly spoke about the life and contribution of Rajamata Jijabai.

Shri Tarun Anna led the Geeth “Bane Hum Rashtra ke Yogi,” which infused enthusiasm and patriotic fervour among the participants. This was followed by an interactive quiz on the life and message of Swami Vivekananda, conducted by Shri Bharath Ji, in which all students participated with keen interest.

As a mark of reverence, all students and karyakartas offered pushpanjali to Swami Vivekananda, seeking his blessings. The programme concluded with the recitation of the Shanti Mantra and Kendra Prarthana, leaving the participants inspired by the life and message of Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and National Youth Day Celebration at Government School in Manorayanapalya

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar Nagarsthan observed Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, commemorated as National Youth Day, on 12th January 2026 at the Government School, Manorayanapalya. The programme was attended by a total of 71 participants, comprising 62 students, 6 teachers, and 3 karyakartas.

The programme commenced with a prayer led by Shri Mahesh, a student of Samskara Varga, setting a solemn and devotional tone. This was followed by Deepa Prajwalan and Pooja to Swami Vivekananda, performed by the karyakartas and teachers. The Headmistress of the school delivered the welcome address, highlighting the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals for students.

Students Shri Siddharth, Kum. Chinmay, Kum. Bipana, and Kum. Ranu Devi presented Vivekavani with enthusiasm and confidence, inspiring the gathering. Smt. Thara Didi addressed the students, speaking about Swami Vivekananda’s childhood and emphasizing the values of discipline, character, and self-confidence that today’s youth need to imbibe. Shri Bharath Ji then led the group singing of the Geet “Jaya Vivekananda Guruvara,” which further elevated the patriotic and inspirational atmosphere.

The Cluster Resource Person (CRP) from the Educational Department also addressed the gathering and encouraged the conduct of more such value-based programmes for students. The celebration concluded with the recitation of the Shanti Mantra, marking a meaningful and inspiring observance of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration at Siang

National Youth Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, was observed on 12 January 2026 at Donyi Polo Gangging in Kerant Village, Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh. The programme was organized by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Siang Vibhag, with the objective of spreading the inspiring message of Swami Vivekananda and motivating participants to imbibe the values of character building, discipline, and dedicated seva to society.

The programme was led by Shri Tate Pabin Ji and Shri Okir Nyising Ji, who spoke about the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda and highlighted the relevance of his ideals for the youth of today.

The programme witnessed the participation of 20 people, who actively took part in the observance and reflected upon the inspiring message of Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration in Raipur

Yoga Varga participants organized programm of Samkuhik Suryanamaskar in the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Birth Day. 120 participant including children performed 12 suryanamaskar together with mantra. After suryanamaskar there was special on swami Vivekananda life and works.
