International Day of Yoga Celebrated at M.S PU College in Manorayana Palya

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Kempegowda Vibhag, R.T. Nagar, organized a successful International Day of Yoga 2026 celebration at M.S. PU College, Manoranayanapalya, on June 20, 2026. The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of 238 participants, including 223 students, 9 faculty members, and 6 dedicated Karyakartas.

The program commenced with prayer, followed by a warm welcome extended by the college management to the Kendra Karyakartas. To ensure focused participation and effective learning, the yoga sessions were meticulously conducted in two separate batches for the 1st PU and 2nd PU students, strictly adhering to the Common Yoga Protocol.

As the sessions concluded, both students and teachers expressed their gratitude and shared deep experiences of inner calm, mental clarity, and physical relaxation, leaving a lasting impact by effectively promoting the timeless importance of yoga and inspiring everyone present to embrace a healthy, balanced, and mindful lifestyle.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and National Youth Day Celebration at Government School in Manorayanapalya

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar Nagarsthan observed Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, commemorated as National Youth Day, on 12th January 2026 at the Government School, Manorayanapalya. The programme was attended by a total of 71 participants, comprising 62 students, 6 teachers, and 3 karyakartas.

The programme commenced with a prayer led by Shri Mahesh, a student of Samskara Varga, setting a solemn and devotional tone. This was followed by Deepa Prajwalan and Pooja to Swami Vivekananda, performed by the karyakartas and teachers. The Headmistress of the school delivered the welcome address, highlighting the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals for students.

Students Shri Siddharth, Kum. Chinmay, Kum. Bipana, and Kum. Ranu Devi presented Vivekavani with enthusiasm and confidence, inspiring the gathering. Smt. Thara Didi addressed the students, speaking about Swami Vivekananda’s childhood and emphasizing the values of discipline, character, and self-confidence that today’s youth need to imbibe. Shri Bharath Ji then led the group singing of the Geet “Jaya Vivekananda Guruvara,” which further elevated the patriotic and inspirational atmosphere.

The Cluster Resource Person (CRP) from the Educational Department also addressed the gathering and encouraged the conduct of more such value-based programmes for students. The celebration concluded with the recitation of the Shanti Mantra, marking a meaningful and inspiring observance of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.

Universal Brotherhood Day Competitions at Government Primary School in Manorayanapalya

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar branch organized Universal Brotherhood Day Competitions on 15 September 2025 at Government Primary School, Manorayanapalya, RT Nagar, with a total of 199 attendees, including students, karyakartas, volunteer, teachers, and judges. 78 students participated in the competitions.

The programme was held to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago on September 11, 1893, and to instill the values of unity, patriotism, and cultural pride among students.

The event commenced with a prayer by Shri Lakshman, a Class 3 student and Samskara Varga participant. The school Principal, Smt. Geetha, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the relevance of Universal Brotherhood Day and commending the efforts of the organizers.

Kendra karyakarta Shri Tarun Anna introduced the competitions, which included:

• Vivekavani Competition
• Patriotic Group Singing Competition
• Drawing Competition

Students participated enthusiastically, displaying talent, devotion, and confidence. The concluding session began with a prayer by Ms. Deekshitha Akka, a Class 2 Samskara Varga participant, followed by the spirited group singing of Matrubhoomi, led by Shri Tarun Anna with active participation from all students.

Prizes were awarded to the winners, and all participants received certificates from the Principal and teachers. Adding inspiration, Ms. Ruchitha Akka (Sahitya Seva Toli Sadasya), Ms. Bhanupriya Akka, and Ms. Shreya Akka (Samskara Varga Saha Pramukhs)—alumnae of the same school—shared their experiences of growing from students to karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra, motivating the children to follow their path of seva and samskara.

The teachers and Principal expressed gratitude to Vivekananda Kendra for organizing such a meaningful programme and highlighted its role in inspiring students to engage in Samskara Varga and Bhajan Sandhya. The programme concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra by Shreya Akka.

The celebration of Universal Brotherhood Day was a grand success, sparking enthusiasm among students to actively participate in the activities of Vivekananda Kendra and imbibe the spirit of selfless service.
