The celebration was marked by a soulful Rama Bhajan and a traditional Pooja, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion. The morning session began at 9:00 AM with an invocation and welcome address in the presence of the Principal Smt. G. Sariga, Vice Principal Sri Sanjeev Rajan, and the Chief Guest Dr. Radhika, Professor of Rohini College of Engineering. The programme was coordinated by the Physical Education teachers Smt. V. Vijaya Nirmala and Sri K. Esai Reshwanth, and compered by T. N. Rithu of Class XI A.
The Olympic lamp was ceremonially lit symbolizing unity and the spirit of sports. Sports achievers Shri Mathan (X Std), Kum. Akshaya Lakshmi (VIII Std), Kum. Akshaya (VIII Std), and Kum. Lucy Monica (XII A) carried the Olympic torch around the playground before it was lit by the Chief Guest along with the Principal and Vice Principal. This was followed by the flag hoisting ceremony marking the formal inauguration of the Sports Day. In her address, Dr. Radhika emphasized that sports help develop discipline, character, perseverance, and equality. She also highlighted the inspiring example of Paralympic high jumper Shri Mariyappan who overcame physical challenges through determination and continuous practice. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest by the Principal.
The sports events began with the symbolic release of doves representing peace and unity. Various athletic competitions were conducted for students of different classes, and the finals for classes VIII to XII were held in front of the entire school. Students participated actively and displayed enthusiasm, discipline, and team spirit throughout the events.
The evening session began with an invocation by the students of Std VII, followed by a welcome address by Kum. R. Tharshini of Class XI and a speech on the importance of the day by Kum. Vanisha of Class VIII B. The Chief Guest for the evening session, Shri C. M. Chellathurai, Traffic Inspector, appreciated the students for their participation and emphasized the importance of road safety. He encouraged students to follow traffic rules and create awareness among their family members regarding the use of helmets, seat belts, and responsible driving.
Prizes, certificates, and medals were distributed to the winners by the Chief Guest. The prize list was read by Smt. Abinaya Lakshmi, teacher. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Shri Akshanth of Class XI C. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest by the Principal. The programme concluded with Kendra Prarthana, marking the successful completion of the Annual Sports Day celebration.

The programme commenced with the chanting of three Omkaras followed by Shanti Mantras. This was followed by the devotional song “Shambho Purare” rendered by the Sanskar Varga children. Ms. Smitha Ji then explained the spiritual significance of Mahashivratri, recounting inspiring episodes from the Itihasas and Puranas. She also presented a Kendra Parichaya, highlighting the mission, vision, and activities of Vivekananda Kendra.
The central part of the programme was the Shiva Pooja, conducted by Shri Vaidyaji and Shri Chandruji, which included the chanting of mantras and shlokas along with archana, arati, and nivedanam as per the prescribed rituals. Following the pooja, devotional bhajans were sung by Abinnaya Ji and the Amrit Parivar team, along with a musical performance presented by the family of Shri Satya Ji.
After the completion of the pooja arati at around 7.10 p.m., Bhojana / Alpahar was served to the participants. Subsequently, Ms. Abinnaya Ji and the Amrit Parivar team led the chanting of various Ashtakams, followed by a meditation session. The programme concluded with the Maha Mangala Arati.
The event provided a deeply devotional experience for all the participants and strengthened the spirit of collective prayer and cultural observance.
The festivities commenced on a spiritual note with a prayer by Kum. Hanumantha, followed by a melodious group song performed by the school students. To deepen the cultural understanding of the day, Ms. Dharani Akka, a Senior Karyakarta, delivered an insightful session on the spiritual and seasonal importance of the Makara Sankranti festival.
The atmosphere turned energetic as students engaged in various interactive games. A major highlight of the celebration was the Suggi Kunitha, performed under the guidance of Shri Bharath ji, where students, teachers, and Karyakartas joined together in a display of traditional folk dance and communal joy.
The program concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra by Shri Mahesh Bhupathi ji, followed by the distribution of Prasada to all attendees, marking a successful and culturally enriching celebration of the harvest festival.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Kallubalu Nagarasthan celebrated Samartha Bharat Parva on 09th January 2026 at the Anandalaya in Kallubalu, from 6:10 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A total of 39 participants, comprising 34 students, 2 parents, and 3 Acharyas, were present for the programme.
Kalpataru Diwas is observed on 1 January to commemorate the sacred occasion in 1886 when Takur Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, at the Cossipore Garden House (Udyanbati), bestowed his special blessings upon devotees—an event remembered as his divine self-revelation and an outpouring of grace.
The programme commenced with a prayer and the chanting of Guru Stavan, creating a devotional atmosphere. Smt. Thara Didi then spoke on the spiritual significance of Kalpataru Diwas and narrated inspiring incidents from the life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, helping the children understand the deeper meaning of the observance.
Following the address, all the children reverently sought blessings and performed Aarati, marking the occasion with devotion and gratitude. The programme concluded in a serene and spiritually uplifting manner, leaving a lasting impression on the participants.

This was followed by the collective singing of Vande Mataram by all the participants, creating a solemn and patriotic atmosphere. Smt. Shantha Kumari, Balwadi Teacher, spoke on the importance of Samartha Bharat Parva and highlighted its relevance in nurturing a sense of responsibility towards the nation.
As part of the programme, Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring thoughts were shared in both Tamil and English by Smt. Subbulekshmi and Smt. Jeyalekshmi respectively, enabling students to connect with his message across languages. Bharat Mata Aarati was then performed, followed by the offering of pooja to Bharat Mata, reinforcing the spiritual and nationalistic spirit of the occasion.
The programme concluded with the Kendra Prarthana and Prasadam was distributed to all the participants. As a continuation of the Samartha Bharat Parva observance, Vande Mataram will be sung daily during the school assembly from 5 January to 12 January 2026 after the reopening of the school.

The programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra and Kendra Prarthana, after which the karyakartas did pushparpan to Mananeeya Shri Eknathji. The event reaffirmed the collective responsibility and the spirit of selfless service among all karyakartas.

As part of the outreach initiative, VKV Bokuloni students visited neighbouring schools to teach their peers the national song, fostering a sense of unity and shared cultural pride. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation across three institutions. At Chichia M.V. School, 197 students and 25 teachers joined the chorus, while Chichia Girls School saw the participation of 259 students and 26 teachers. VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni contributed the largest group with 496 students and 30 teaching and non-teaching staff. In total, 1,033 participants came together in a collective celebration of the legacy and message of Vande Mataram, making the occasion memorable and deeply inspiring for all.
