International Day of Yoga Programme at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pattom

As part of the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Keralam Prant, Thiruvananthapuram Branch, organized two Yoga sessions on 20th June 2026 at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom. A total of 1,856 participants attended the programme.

The programme commenced with the chanting of the Aikya Mantra, followed by Deep Prajjwalan.

Adarneeya Priyamvada Didi addressed the gathering and explained the true essence of yoga. She emphasized that yoga is not confined to asanas and pranayama alone but is a holistic way of life based on the vision of oneness. She highlighted that yoga helps cultivate noble qualities, builds character, and inspires individuals to lead meaningful and purposeful lives dedicated to the service of society.

The participants enthusiastically performed the International Day of Yoga (IDY) Common Yoga Protocol, which included loosening exercises, standing, sitting, prone and supine postures, along with Anuloma Viloma, Shitali, and Bhramari Pranayama.

The yoga sessions were ably supported by Aadaraneeya Kalyani Didi and Ms. Monika Didi, who actively assisted in coordinating and guiding the participants throughout the programme.

The programme concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, leaving the participants inspired to incorporate yoga into their daily lives.
