Guru Purnima Celebration at VKV Kallubalu

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Kallubalu (Karnataka Prant) celebrated Guru Poornima the first Kendra Utsava with immense devotion, joy, and reverence at the school, on Saturday, 1st August 2026. The occasion brought together 400 attendees, including 324 students, 34 staff members, parents, and esteemed guests. 

The programme opened with a starting prayer by Shri Yuvraj Class 4 and a warm welcome address by Kum. Kavita K Class 10. Chief Guests Adaraneeya Nalini Didi and Ms. Medha Akka performed the traditional Aarati to Maharshi Vyasa, setting a sacred tone for the event.

The celebration featured an array of vibrant cultural and spiritual performances. Kum. Bhargavi Class 9 chanted the Gurustotra, followed by a captivating dance performance by Kum. Santana and Kum. Nandini Class 6. Kindergarten students delighted the audience with a colorful fancy dress show, after which Ms. Bhavana ji delivered an insightful speech on the vital role of a Guru in a student's life. The ABL students performed an energetic action dance to the song "Kalisi Guruve Kalisi", followed by a soul-stirring bhajan by team Maa Sharadha. 

Demonstrating traditional heritage, Shri Sharath Class 3 showcased Kattivarase, an ancient martial art form, while Shri Aravind and his team presented an inspiring drama on the life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, encouraging students to cultivate deep respect for their teachers.

The event also featured prize distributions presented by Ms. Medha Akka for the KG students and Ms. Mitra Didi for the winners of the Gurustotra and Guru Bhajan competitions. 

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Adarneeya Nalini Didi commended the school community and urged students to adopt five essential qualities: active enthusiasm, focused patience, alertness, non-attachment to food, and an open mind toward learning. 

The memorable celebration concluded with a thoughtful vote of thanks by Shri Samhith Class 10 and an ending prayer led by Shri Naveen Class 9, leaving a lasting, inspiring impression on all present.
