International Day of Yoga 2026 at Sree Mookambika Group of Institutions in Kulasekharam

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 on 21 June 2026 at Sree Mookambika Group of Institutions, Kulasekharam, Kanyakumari.

A total of 350 students from Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences, Sree Mookambika College of Nursing, and Sree Mookambika Institute of Allied Health Sciences enthusiastically participated in the programme.

The yoga session was conducted by Dr. Suganthi in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) prescribed by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. The participants actively performed the various yogasanas, pranayama, meditation, and relaxation practices with enthusiasm and discipline.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Suganthi introduced the participants to the ideals and service activities of Vivekananda Kendra and explained Eknathji Ranade's vision of promoting yoga as a holistic way of life rooted in India's cultural heritage. She also encouraged the students and their families to visit Kanyakumari and experience the inspiring atmosphere associated with Swami Vivekananda's meditation, enabling them to better understand the purpose of life and cultivate values essential for leading a meaningful and successful life.

The programme reflected this year's International Day of Yoga theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," inspiring the future healthcare professionals to embrace yoga as a lifelong practice for holistic health and well-being.
