Samartha Bharat Parva Celebration at VKV Kanyakumari

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Kanyakumari (VKV Kanyakumari) started the Samartha Bharat Parva Celebrations on 25th December 2025 at 9.30 a.m., with the participation of 120 students and staff members. The programme was organized with the objective of instilling desh bhakti and spreading the message of national strength and cultural pride inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

The celebration commenced with a warm welcome address by teacher Smt. P. Umaselvi who explained the significance and purpose of observing Samartha Bharat Parva. This was followed by the collective singing of Vande Mataram by all the participants, creating a solemn and patriotic atmosphere. Smt. Shantha Kumari, Balwadi Teacher, spoke on the importance of Samartha Bharat Parva and highlighted its relevance in nurturing a sense of responsibility towards the nation.

As part of the programme, Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring thoughts were shared in both Tamil and English by Smt. Subbulekshmi and Smt. Jeyalekshmi respectively, enabling students to connect with his message across languages. Bharat Mata Aarati was then performed, followed by the offering of pooja to Bharat Mata, reinforcing the spiritual and nationalistic spirit of the occasion.

The programme concluded with the Kendra Prarthana and Prasadam was distributed to all the participants. As a continuation of the Samartha Bharat Parva observance, Vande Mataram will be sung daily during the school assembly from 5 January to 12 January 2026 after the reopening of the school.
