Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Vallioor (VKV-Vallioor), observed Gita Jayanti with devotion and reverence on 11th December 2025 at the Yoga Hall of the school. A total of 257 students from Classes VI to IX participated in the programme, which was organized to highlight the spiritual wisdom and timeless relevance of the Bhagavad Gita.
The celebration commenced with a prayer song rendered by the students, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Smt. S. Esakkiammal @ Devi, marking the formal inauguration of the programme. The welcome address was delivered by Kum. Muthu Sankari of Class XI.
As part of the observance, Smt. Sumitha, a teacher of the school, led the chanting of select Gita shlokas, which were recited by the students with devotion and clarity. Subsequently, Shri. Bharathi Raja, Tamil Teacher, delivered an insightful message on the significance of Gita Jayanti, explaining how the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita emphasize selflessness, courage, and guidance towards spiritual consciousness.
The programme concluded with the Kendra Prarthana, bringing the celebration to a serene and inspiring close.
