Grand Yoga Session Held on International Day of Yoga at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagarsthan, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 on 21st June 2026 at Coffee Board Layout, Hebbal Kempapura, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., in collaboration with other like-minded organizations. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 500 participants from the locality.

The program commenced serenely with the chanting of three Omkaras and the Sahana Vavatu shloka, followed by the traditional Deepa Prajwalana and a melodious song presented by Smt. Ramya Ji and her group.

The core yoga session was systematically conducted in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), which transitioned into a deeply rejuvenating Pranayama and meditation session led by Shri A.P. Prasad Ji, Karnataka Prant Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra. Adding further value to the gathering, Kendra Karyakartas organized a dedicated book stall for Sahitya Seva, which received an encouraging response from the attendees. Broad publicity was also carried out for the upcoming Yoga Shastra Sangamam.

To sustain the positive momentum of this event, a follow-up Samparka initiative with the participants is planned to further strengthen their association with Kendra activities. The program concluded gracefully with a vote of thanks, having effectively spread the profound message of yoga and holistic well-being.

International Day of Yoga Celebrated with Dhruva Samskaravarga Children at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Kempegowda Vibhag, Hebbal Nagarsthan, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 with the vibrant children of Dhruva Samskaravarga at the Government School, Hebbal Kempapura. Held on Saturday, 20th June, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, the event was coordinated by 2 Kendra Karyakartas and saw enthusiastic participation from 80 students.

The program commenced on a serene note with the chanting of three Omkaras and the Sahana Vavatu prayer. Following this, the children were enlightened on the deep significance of International Yoga Day and the immense benefits of integrating yoga into their daily lives. The session then moved into action with energizing warm-up exercises and the practice of various asanas, to sustain this positive momentum, the Kendra has planned future follow-up activities, including the regular conduct of Anandalaya and Samskara Varga for the students.

The program concluded with gracefully with a collective Sankalpa and Shanti Mantra.

Mantra Abhyas Workshop conducted at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch conducted a 15-day Mantra Abhyas Workshop from May 1 to May 15, 2026. Held daily from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Vivekananda School of Yoga in Coffee Board Layout, Hebbal, the workshop was offered in a hybrid format—both offline and online—to ensure wide accessibility. A dedicated group of 21 participants, encompassing both enthusiastic children and elders, attended the sessions regularly.

The main objective of the workshop was to encourage the practice of chanting, improve pronunciation, develop concentration, nurture devotion and cultural values through regular mantra abhyas.

The workshop concluded successfully with positive feedback from participants and parents, who appreciated the initiative for promoting Sanskrit chanting, discipline, and spiritual learning among all age groups.

Tarunodaya Shivir at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch, organized Tarunodaya Shivir, a ten-day personality development camp for children, from 15th to 25th April 2026. The concluding ceremony of the Shivir was held on 25th April 2026 at Vivekananda School of Yoga, Coffee Board Layout, Hebbal, Karnataka. The event, conducted from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, witnessed a vibrant gathering of 60 attendees, including 20 dedicated Karyakartas and 40 enthusiastic participants comprising children and their parents.

The program commenced with the chanting of three Omkaras and Shanti Mantras. Demonstrating the skills acquired during the camp, the children warmly welcomed the guests by reciting various Shlokas they had learned. The function was graced by distinguished guests Smt. Veena Akka, Karnataka Prant Karyapadhati Pramukh and Shri Chandrasekar Anna Hebbal Nagar Sanchalak.

During the feedback session, the participants expressed immense joy, specifically highlighting the impact of the guest lectures. They found the sessions led by professionals including policemen, doctors, and lawyers to be deeply insightful, particularly those focusing on social media awareness, self-defense, health and hygiene, and the value of friendship.

In her address, Smt. Veena Akka spoke candidly about the contemporary challenges facing today’s youth, emphasizing the necessity of a resilient mindset and the pivotal role parents play in character building. Shri Chandrasekar Anna reinforced these sentiments, advocating for a value-based upbringing in an evolving world. Smt. Rajashree Akka shared her observations of the children’s growth during the Shivir, offering constructive suggestions to parents while introducing the broader mission of Vivekananda Kendra. She extended a heartfelt invitation to the families to join the Kendra’s movement of "Man-making and Nation-building".

The ceremony reached its peak with the distribution of certificates to the proud participants by the chief guests.

The event concluded with the Shanti Path and the distribution of sweets, marking the end of a transformative journey for all involved.

Bala Vikasa Shibir at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch, successfully organized the "Bala Vikasa Shibir", a comprehensive personality development camp for children aged 5 to 9 years from April 1st to 13th, 2026. Held daily from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Vivekananda Kendra Hebbal venue, the camp saw the enthusiastic participation of 21 children.

Each session commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and Shanti Paat, setting a serene and focused tone for the day's activities.

To deeply root the children in Indian values and culture, the curriculum featured a vibrant mix of stories, mantras, shlokas, and bhajans. The participants remained actively engaged through a variety of hands-on activities, including action songs, interactive games, yoga sessions, and "cooking without fire" workshops.

 The Shibir culminated in a concluding program where certificates were distributed to the children in the presence of their parents. During this program, attendees were introduced to the wider mission of the Kendra through a Kendra Parichaya session, and parents were encouraged to contribute to various ongoing Seva activities. To ensure the continuous growth and nurturing of these young minds, the branch will transition these activities into weekly Samskaravarga sessions held every Saturday evening.

Saraswati Puja at Ganesha Anandalaya in Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch, Ganesha Anandalaya organized Saraswati Puja at on 6 March 2026 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Sunrise School, Kempapura, Hebbal, with the participation of 10 students and 7 karyakartas.

The programme commenced with three Omkaras and Shanti Path, followed by the chanting of Saraswati Shlokas. The Saraswati Puja and Stuti were performed by the Anandalaya children with devotion.

As part of the programme, Saraswati bhajans and shlokas were taught to the children, and Dhyana Sankalpa was also undertaken by the students. The programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra and Kendra Prarthana, leaving the participants with a sense of devotion and cultural enrichment.

Mahashivratri Celebration at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagarsthan, celebrated Mahashivratri on 15 February 2026 at VS Yoga Centre, Hebbal Kempapura, from 5.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. The programme witnessed the participation of 80 people, including 20 karyakartas, creating a deeply devotional and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

The programme commenced with the chanting of three Omkaras followed by Shanti Mantras. This was followed by the devotional song “Shambho Purare” rendered by the Sanskar Varga children. Ms. Smitha Ji then explained the spiritual significance of Mahashivratri, recounting inspiring episodes from the Itihasas and Puranas. She also presented a Kendra Parichaya, highlighting the mission, vision, and activities of Vivekananda Kendra.

The central part of the programme was the Shiva Pooja, conducted by Shri Vaidyaji and Shri Chandruji, which included the chanting of mantras and shlokas along with archana, arati, and nivedanam as per the prescribed rituals. Following the pooja, devotional bhajans were sung by Abinnaya Ji and the Amrit Parivar team, along with a musical performance presented by the family of Shri Satya Ji.

After the completion of the pooja arati at around 7.10 p.m., Bhojana / Alpahar was served to the participants. Subsequently, Ms. Abinnaya Ji and the Amrit Parivar team led the chanting of various Ashtakams, followed by a meditation session. The programme concluded with the Maha Mangala Arati.

The event provided a deeply devotional experience for all the participants and strengthened the spirit of collective prayer and cultural observance.

Inauguration of Veda Classes at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal branch inaugurated Free Veda classes on 1st February 2026 at the Vivekananda School of Yoga, Hebbal, Kempapura, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. A total of 65 participants and 10 Kendra karyakartas, attended the inaugural session. 

The program was graced by Pujyaniya Bhakti Priya Mataji, a revered saint from Gangotri Himalayas; Aadaraniya Lalita Didi, Karnataka Prant Sanghatak, Vivekananda Kendra; and Smt. Remya Ajith, Vedic Instructor, under the guidance of renowned Vedic scholar Acharyasri M. R. Rajesh ji of Kashyapa Veda Research Foundation. Pujyaniya Bhakti Priya Mataji and Aadaraniya Lalita Didi emphasized the importance of learning the Vedas, inspiring participants before the lessons commenced.

The session began with three Omkaras, Prayer, lighting of the lamp, and the Rashtriya Geet, setting a spiritual tone for the gathering.

The session concluded with Shanti Manra. The classes will continue every Sunday under the guidance of Acharyasri M. R. Rajesh ji.

Sahitya Seva and Samparka Activities during Republic Day Celebration at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch, participated in the Republic Day celebration organized at Godrej Woodsman Apartments, Hebbal, on 26 January 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

On this occasion, the Kendra set up a book stall as part of its Sahitya Seva and Samparka activities. The karyakartas introduced the residents to the literature and activities of Vivekananda Kendra, encouraging them to learn about the inspiring teachings of Swami Vivekananda and the Kendra’s service initiatives. Through the book stall, various Kendra publications were displayed and made available to the participants.

The programme witnessed the participation of over 200 residents of the apartment complex. A total of 7 karyakartas from the Hebbal Branch actively engaged in the Sahitya Seva and Samparka activities. The initiative provided a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community and spread awareness about the ideals and activities of Vivekananda Kendra.

Ratha Saptami Celebration at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch, in collaboration with Vivekananda Yoga Ayur Prashikshana Kendra (VYAPAK), celebrated Ratha Saptami with great spiritual fervor at Sunrise School, Hebbal Kempapura on January 25, 2026, held between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., the event drew an enthusiastic gathering of 250 participants and 10 dedicated Karyakartas.

The program featured a session of 108 Surya Namaskaras to honor Surya Deva, followed by a traditional Homa and Puja dedicated to Surya Narayana.

The morning concluded with Prasadam and Alpahar served to all attendees.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti - National Youth Day celebration at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch organized the Swami Vivekananda Jayanti & National Youth Day celebration on 11th January 2026, from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m., at Sunrise School, Hebbal Kempapura. The program was conducted with the active involvement of 25 karyakartas and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 600 participants, making it a large-scale and impactful celebration.

Extensive planning was undertaken over several weeks to ensure smooth execution of the event. Karyakartas reached the venue a day in advance and again on the morning of the program to finalize arrangements and ensure readiness in all aspects.

The program was graced by eminent chief guests Mananeeya Kum. Nivedita Bhide Didi, Padma Shri awardee and All India Vice President of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra; Dr. Vijayalakshmi Deshamane Ji, Padma Shri awardee and eminent oncologist; and Smt. Shakunthala Bhandarkar Ji, Co-Founder and Director of the Metamorphes Foundation. The event commenced with the Shanti Pat, followed by Vande Mataram song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Shri A. P. Prasad Ji, Karnataka Prant Pramukh, delivered the welcome address.

The cultural segment featured a series of performances including an invocation song by students of Nachiketa Samskaravarga, Bharatanatyam by Anjali Nrithyalaya, a Yoga Dance, the song Amrit Parivar, and a skit depicting the life of Swami Vivekananda. Shri Chandrasekhar Tejaswi Anna, Hebbal Nagar Pramukh, introduced Vivekananda Kendra and presented the annual report of VK Hebbal activities, followed by a Kathak dance performance.

The keynote address was delivered by Smt. Shakunthala Bhandarkar Ji, who shared an inspiring video on the life of her husband, Late Lt. Col. Ajit V. Bhandarkar, Shaurya Chakra awardee. She spoke about her personal journey, the challenges she faced, and her efforts to support and inspire others through the Metamorphes Foundation.

The program continued with a yoga dance by Nachiketa Samskara Varga students, the song Bharata Nariyara Thanda, and a skit titled Andu Indu, effectively portraying cultural transitions between earlier and present generations. This was followed by Kolkali by the Samanvaya team and Bharatanatyam by students of Gowri Nrithyalaya.

In her address, Mananeeya Nivedita Didi reflected on the lives and ideals of Swami Vivekananda and Eknathji, emphasizing their relevance in contemporary times and highlighting the crucial role of youth power in nation-building.

The cultural segment continued with Yoga Formations, Kolatta dance, the song Murtha Maheshwara, a Yoga Dance, and Thiruvathira Dance by the Samanvaya team, with a challenging yoga formation drawing special appreciation from the audience.

The concluding address was delivered by Dr. Vijayalakshmi Deshamane Ji, who shared insights from her life journey and emphasized the practical relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s message in daily life. Scholarships were distributed to deserving and needy students, adding a meaningful dimension to the celebration.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Sitalakshmi Ji, followed by the Shanti Mantra. Dinner prasad was arranged for all participants, and the event concluded successfully with the participation of nearly 600 attendees, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

10-Day Yoga Satra at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Nagarsthan organizing a 10-day Yoga Satra, which was inaugurated on 5 January 2026 at the Vivekananda Youth Movement Campus, Hebbal, and is scheduled to conclude on 15 January 2026. A total of 78 participants are attending the Satra.

The Yoga Satra was designed to introduce participants to the holistic concept of yoga and its practical relevance in daily life. Each session began with a prayer, setting a disciplined and serene atmosphere for learning and practice.

The programme included theoretical sessions explaining the meaning of yoga and its benefits for physical, mental, and emotional well-being, along with practical sessions comprising loosening exercises, asanas, guided breathing practices and Pranayama. Interactive games were also incorporated to encourage participation.

The Yoga Satra is being conducted systematically, with active participation from the attendees, and is contributing positively towards promoting a healthy and disciplined lifestyle rooted in yogic values.

 

Gita Jayanti Celebration at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch organized the Gita Jayanti celebration on 1st December 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the VK Hebbal Kendra Karyalaya, Maruthi Nagar, Dasarahalli. A total of 17 participants took part in the programme.

The celebration commenced with three Omkaras and the Shanti Mantra, followed by the collective chanting of all 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita. Between each chapter, the karyakartas shared their favourite Gita shlokas and reflected on how these teachings had influenced and guided them in their personal lives.

The programme concluded with Aarati and Shanti Path, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere and reinforcing the relevance of the Bhagavad Gita in daily life.

Sadhana Diwas Celebration at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch organized the Sadhana Diwas programme during Kendra Varga on 15th November 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Kendra Karyalaya in Hebbal. A total of 18 participants attended the event.

The programme began with three Omkaras, followed by the Panchanga reading by Shri Vaidya ji. Shri Prasad ji presented the Subhashita “Mukta Saṅgo’nahaṁ vādi” from the Bhagavad Gita, a favourite śloka of Mananeeya Shri Eknathji. This was followed by the song “Vandana Abhinandana” rendered by Smt. Rajashree ji. Ms. Smitha ji spoke on the significance of Sadhana Diwas, highlighting the qualities exemplified by Eknathji—service-mindedness, unwavering willpower, determination, and hard work. Reading from the book Spiritualizing Life was conducted by Ms. Sitalakshmi ji and followed by an insightful group discussion.

The programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra and Kendra Prarthana, after which the karyakartas did pushparpan to Mananeeya Shri Eknathji. The event reaffirmed the collective responsibility and the spirit of selfless service among all karyakartas.

Lalita Sahasranama Parayana Programme at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch organized the Lalita Sahasranama Parayana Programme on 11th October 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Vivekananda Kendra Hebbal karyalaya, marking the concluding session of the Lalita Sahasranama workshop conducted by the Amrit Parivar team. A total of 66 people took part in the programme.

The programme commenced with three Omkaras, Shanti Mantra, and Deepa Prajwalana, followed by Panchanga by Sitalakshmi Ji and Subhashita by Vaidya Ji. Abinnaya Ji and her team rendered the devotional song Sri Chakra Raja, creating a deeply devotional ambience. This was followed by Kendra Parichaya by Smitha Ji.

The chief guest of the evening, All India Sahitya Seva Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra, Adv. Jyoti Didi, addressed the gathering. She spoke about the significance of Devi Shakti and the spiritual benefits of chanting the Lalita Sahasranama—to awaken the divine energy within and realize the path to inner peace and self-realization. She also emphasized that the work of Vivekananda Kendra itself is a means to manifest this divine power and urged all to participate in Kendra activities.

The chanting of Lalita Sahasranama was then conducted with devotion, followed by a soothing meditation session led by Shri Prasad Ji, helping participants experience serenity and inner stillness. The programme concluded with Mangala Arati, Shanti Mantras, and Prasadam distribution, leaving everyone inspired and spiritually elevated.

Universal Brotherhood Day : Competitions for Students at Hebbal

 

In connection with Universal Brotherhood Day, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch organized Cultural Competitions at Vinayaka Sunrise School, Coffee Board Layout, Hebbal, on September 6, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A total of 156 students from 8 schools in and around Kempapura participated enthusiastically in the event.

The competitions were held in the categories of Swamiji’s Chicago Speech, Swamiji’s Quotations, Essay on the Life of Swamiji, and Patriotic Group Songs. The participants showcased their talents with dedication and devotion. Certificates were awarded to all participants, which further encouraged their spirit.

The program was well organized and served as an inspiring prelude to the Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations.

Ganesha Puja Celebrations with Sahasranama Chanting at Hebbal

On August 31, 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Branch, organized the chanting of Lalita Sahasranama and Vishnu Sahasranama at Sai Kalyan Winst, Hebbal Kempapura, Bengaluru, as part of the Ganesha Puja celebrations in the apartment. The program was held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the participation of 25 devotees.

The chanting created a spiritual and devotional atmosphere, bringing the community together in prayer and celebration. The event reflected the joy of collective worship and the uplifting spirit of Ganesha Puja, leaving participants inspired and enriched

Ganesh Chaturthi Bhajan Sandhya at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagar Branch organized a Bhajan Sandhya on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on 27th August 2025 from 6:00 to 6:50 pm at the Indian Institute of Science. A total of 50 participants took part in the program, singing various devotional songs in a festive and celebratory atmosphere. The program concluded successfully with the divine grace of Lord Shri Ganesha, leaving participants deeply inspired and spiritually uplifted.

Ganesha Idol-Making Workshop at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagar Branch organized a Ganesha Idol-Making Workshop on 23rd August 2025 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at Vivekananda Kendra Karyalaya, Coffee Board Layout, Hebbal. A total of 26 participants, including the Dhruva and Nachiketa Samskara Vargas, attended the workshop.

The session was held in preparation for Ganesh Chaturthi, where the children learnt to make eco-friendly Ganesha idols for worship at their homes. This creative and engaging activity not only promoted environmental awareness but also helped the children develop a deeper spiritual connection with Lord Ganesha.
