Vijayadasami and Vidyarambham Celebration 2025 at VKV Vallioor

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Vallioor (VKV-Vallioor), celebrated Vijayadasami and Vidyarambham with devotion and enthusiasm on 2nd October 2025 at the Yoga Hall of the school. The event, attended by 25 parents, children and teachers, was graced by Smt. Janaki Pushpam, VK-RDP Coordinator, Tirunelveli District, and Smt. M. Natchiyar Sundarraj, Vice President, Nanguneri Town Panchayat, as Chief Guests.

The celebration began with a soulful prayer song rendered by the teachers, setting a serene spiritual tone for the day. Smt. T. Saravana Usha delivered the welcome address and spoke about the significance of Vijayadasami, highlighting its importance as an auspicious occasion for new beginnings in learning.

In her address, Smt. Janaki Pushpam from Vivekananda Kendra shared an inspiring message, emphasizing the role of cultural and spiritual values in education. Sri S. K. Subramanian ji, Correspondent of the school, guided the Vidyarambham ceremony with motivating words that left a lasting impression on the participants.

As part of the traditional ritual, newly admitted students wrote the sacred symbol ‘OM’ in turmeric rice, symbolizing the start of their lifelong journey of learning under the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.

The program concluded with the Kendra Prarthana, filling the atmosphere with devotion, gratitude, and inspiration to pursue knowledge with purity and dedication.

79th Independence Day Celebration at VKV Vallioor

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Vallioor (VKV-Vallioor), celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the school premises with the participation of 725 students and staff. The programme was presided over by Shri S.K. Subramanianji, Correspondent of the school, with Rtn. Dr. T. Selvendiran, President of Rotary Club of Vallioor Central, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Ayyappanji, Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme & Tamil Nadu Prant Sah Sangathak, as the Special Guest.

The celebration commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a prayer song. Dr. Selvendiran unfurled the National Flag, after which the students rendered a flag song. A welcome address was delivered by Kum. Sebika of Class IX. Students then presented a mass drill and a graceful Bharatanatyam performance. Inspiring speeches on the significance of Independence Day were delivered by Dr. Selvendiran and Shri Ayyappanji.

The programme also included a speech on freedom fighters by Kum. Mushkan Kumari of Class VII, as well as vibrant cultural displays such as patriotic dance, Tamil drama, pyramid formation, special property dance, hoops, and martial arts demonstrations like silambam and karate.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Zonal Level Sports conducted by the Tamil Nadu Sports Association.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Kum. Baby Varshini of Class XI, followed by the National Anthem and sweet distribution. The celebration was conducted in a grand and inspiring manner.

Vidyarambam Celebration at VKV Vallioor

“May Goddess saraswathi fills our life with eternal light of Knowledge.”
In our school we celebrated Vijayadasami & Vidhyarambam in a grand manner on 08.10.2019. The ceremony commenced with prayer song by our teacher Mrs.N.Lalitha  Parameshwari. Next lightning the lamp by our parents. Next our teacher Mrs. S.Esakkiammal @ Devi proposed the welcome address and delivered a speech on Vidyarambam
Regarding the Vidyarambam  celebration we have arranged Kolu in a grand manner with the support and team work of our teachers and students. On this auspicious day we have conducted pooja by chanting mantras and all of us participated in the pooja. Next  our honourable chief guest Shri.Ayappanji  delivered an eloquent speech on Swamiji and also about the importance of Vidyarambam celebration. Next our correspondent Shri.S.K.Subramanian  and our Principal Mrs.Maheshwari continued the Vidyarambam with great inspiration. our Chief guest Shri.Ayappanji wrote the great matra “Ohm” in the turmeric rice to our new kids. nearly 20 parents with their children participated in the function and graced the function. The celebration came to an end with Kendra Prayer.

GOKULASHTAMI & RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATIONS VALLIOOR

We celebrated Krishna Jayanthi and Raksha Bandhan together in our school on 22.08.2019. We   started the program by Lighting the lamp Mrs.Gomathi, proprietor of MAG Gas Agency was the Chief guest of this program. She presided over the function, with her we have our correspondent  Shri.S.K.Subramanian and the Principal Mrs.Maheshwari accompanied with the chief guest on the dais,  following the lighting lamp, prayer song was sung by our school choir group.

We had a beautiful dance from our students predicting the naughtiness of Lord Krishna and we had a conversation about the speciality of the day. One of our faculty Mrs.Suba Maharasi  gave an oratious speech about the Krishna Jayanthi and Raksha Bandhan in tamil. In addition to that another faculty  Mrs. Thangam recited a poem in Hindi.

There were many  Little Krishnas and  Gopikas. A student disguised as Krishna and broke the pot which is called as “Uriyadi” and drank the butter milk. The Chief guest gave an auspicious speech about the function and  the pride of our institution and also she said some safety tips about usage of Gas in  our home.

Some of the  parents spoke their opinion about our school. Prizes were distributed to the students by the Chief guest and at last we concluded the function with Kendra Prayer.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION VALLIOOR - 2019

“This Independence day reminds us the struggle of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our country “
  Independence day was celebrated in a grand manner on 15th August in our school campus. Around 800 students, 60 parents and 62 teachers were gathered. The Chief Guest “Mr. Dhamodhar Ex-President, Rotary club of vallioor central” hoisted the National flag Mr. Arumugam Tahsildar retired rotary club of vallioor Central, Sir Chellappa, Dr. Selvandran were the special guests.

    Students made the celebration in a grand one by presenting different programmes yoga, karate, hoops, conversation, pyramid and speeches about freedom in Tamil and English were delivered by the students. Inspiring speeches were given by our honorable guests and they awarded prizes to the students who scored more than 95% marks during the last academic year.

    After the celebration, sweets were distributed to students and parents. The celebration came to end with Kendra prayer. Our school Principal Mrs. Maheshwari  and Correspondent “Shri. S.K.Subramanian” arranged the function in a grand one.

VINAYAGA CHATURTHI CELEBRATION VALLIOOR

Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated in a grand way in our school. Every year we celebrate the festival by preparing the idol of Lord  Ganesha with the help of our IX Std  students. The Vinayagar chaturthi celebration was celebrated from 03.09.2019  to 07.09.2019. Each students worship Lord Ganesha by offering flowers and Prasadham.  The Festival started with devotional followed by manthras and Arathi ceremony.
The ceremony was ended with great joy, happiness and devotion towards Lord Ganesha. After completing the pooja the prasadham was distributed to the students and the staff. After the celebration the idol of  Lord Ganesha was taken by our students for Immersion. With the blessing of Lord Ganesha the ceremony was conducted very auspiciously.  Our correspondent Sri. S.K. Subramanian and Principal Mrs.N.Maheshwari arranged the function in a grand manner.

Teacher’s Day Celebration Vallioor

“Teachers shape the minds of our children and our future. There are really no words to express gratitude for all they do. Many of them are role models and make a huge difference in the lives of children.”

The Birthday of Dr.Radhakrishnan, the former president of our country is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in order to highlight the speciality and greatness of the teachers and their works. As per gratitude, our school encourages the students  to celebrate Teacher’s Day in a special attachment and attention.Students are motivated and encouraged to act as a teacher with the teacher’s  costume. After preparing the lesson plan, they are allowed to teach lesson in the allotted classes. By celebrating Teacher’s Day students understand the value of teachers and start  to give reverence to the teacher.
Students participated interestingly  in our school and acted as the teachers by teaching and handling the classes. Thus we have been celebrating the teachers day every year meaningfully. Our beloved correspondent Shri.S.K.Subramanian and Our beloved principal Mrs.Maheshwari distributed the sweets  to the teacher as a token of love and conveyed their heartiest wishes.
They distributed the prizes to the best performed  student teacher, who disguised as the teacher with this we concluded our teachers day celebration which is an unforgettable day for us.

School Annual Day Celebration at VKV Vallioor

“ We build on Children’s strengths and celebrate their achievements helping children recognize the accomplishments and experience the joy of learning”. Annual day forms an integral part of our school activities.  It is an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast and festivity when students present not only their wonderful performance but also receive honours for their curricular and co- curricular achievements. The annual day function of our school was organized on 12th January 2019. The combinations of three celebrations (Vivekananda Jayanthi, school Annual day, National Youth Day) were celebrated together. The function began around at 4 p.m. Sri. Mayakrishnan BBA.,B.L., Subordinate Judge, Vallioor was the chief guest. Sri. Venkatesan, Senior Advocate, Panagudi was the special guest. Man. Ayyappanji, secretary of R.D.P, Vivekananda Kendra , Kanyakumari graced the function with his presence and blessings. Our correspondent  Sri. S.K. Subramanian presided over the function. The honourable chief guest appreciated the school for its all round success and wished a better future for the students. Speeches on the greatness of Mother Bharat, views of swami Vivekananda, aim of Vivekananda schools and duties of us to be the good citizens of our nation etc.. were presented by the dignitaries. Our Principal Mrs. Andal read out the school Annual report. Prize distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the school.  Rs. 10,000/- was awarded to the top scorer in XII std (K.Sudalaikalathi) by Dr. Muthukrishnan, Eswari Nurshing home, Vallioor in the memory of Dr. Lakshmanan.  Varieties of programme like Drama, Dances, Patriotic song, Dance on Kendra activities, Hanuman dance were performed by the students exposed their efficiency. Dance on Functions (Kendra activities) performance  by students was made more colourful in the cultural programme and got a big round of applause. Finally the programme ended with Kendra Prayer. Our Correspondent Sri. S. K. Subramanian organised the function in a grand manner.

International Yoga day Celebration Vallioor

The international yoga day was celebrated in our school premises on 21st June 2018. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Our honourable chief guest Mr. T. Kanagaraj (Deputy superindent of police) inaugurated the function and delivered a provoking speech about yoga. Two of our wellwishers Shri Dharmar proprietor of Selvi Jewellery  &  Shri Chenthamarai Kannan (Proprietor, Valli Corporation) participated and made the function great made. Next our beloved teacher Mrs. Muthu Deiva Nayagi delivered the welcome address and explained about the importance of yoga. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried away. The school organized mass yoga demonstration for the students. The students of classes V – IX  performed yoga. Nearly 1100 students participated. More than 550 students from various schools participated in the event. Our correspondent Sri .S.K.Subramanian presented the memento to all the dignitaries and the teachers of other schools. The celebration was concluded with the Kendra Prayer. The function was arranged in a grand manner. Sweet was distributed to all the students.

Annual Day, Vivekananda jayanti,, National youth day and Inauguration of Science Center at VKV Vallioor

Vivekananda Jayanthi was observed on 12th January 2017. The combinations of four celebrations (Vivekananda Jayanthi, School Annual Day, National Youth day.

The Inauguration of Mini Science Center)   were celebrated together.  Sri. NELLAI S. MUTHU  Former Scientist, ISRO, NCSTC – National Awardee for Science Popularization was the chief guest. Sri S. Ayyappanji, Secretary of RDP, Vivekananda Kendra Sri. Subramanian, Smt. Shanmuga vadivu, Trustees of Redington foundation were the special guests. Sri. S. Muthu  inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp & inaugurated our Mini Science Center, Sponsored by Redington foundation.  Speeches on the greatness of Bharath, Views of Swami Vivekananda on Mother Bharat, Greatness of Thirukkural, Aim of students, Discipline of students and the improvement of science were presented by the chief guest.  Rs. 10,000/- awarded to the top scorer in std XII (G. Gayathri)  by Dr. Muthukrishnan, Eswari Nursing Home, Vallioor in the memory of Dr. Lakshmanan. The prizes were distributed for the outstanding performance of the students in the last academic year. One of our students R. Suman was honoured by the dignitaries for the state level achievement in sports event. Varieties of programmes like drama, dance, yoga, karate, silambam, skit etc. performed by the students exposed their efficiency.  Our  correspondent Shri. S.K. Subramanian organized the function.

Samartha Bharat Parva Celebration at VKV Vallioor

“The  soil  of  India  is  my  highest  heaven.  The  good  of  India  is  my  good”   Swami Vivekananda after his wandering all over India came to Kanyakumari and sat in meditation on 25 , 26 and 27 December 1892. To spread these message of Swami Vivekananda  amongst the public , to focus on cultural tradition, this Samartha Bharatha Parva is being conducted by all Vivekandanda Kendra Vidyalaya Schools.

    This year we have selected the rural area  Thiruvenkadanathapuram (sirumazhanchi) near vallioor. Fifty  Students who were given enough practice and ten teachers went there. The programme  was  started at 6.30 p.m.   Village panchayat leaders Mr.Thangasamy Nadar and  Mr. Dhavasikani Nadar were the special guests. Nearly 325 people were the audience. Our Principal Mrs. R.Andal welcomed the gathering and the programme were commenced by prayer song and Bharathanatyam . Various  cultural programme like Debate ,  Patriotic dance, Folk dance,  National leader’s play @ conversation about Swami Vivekananda  were impressed by the audience.  Finally    Mr. Ooikattan, Rtd Postman  proposed the vote of thanks.  Mr.Jeyarai  who was the members of panchayat gave away the award on behalf of Sirumazhanchi people. The programme was concluded by Kendra Prayer. Our correspondent Mr.S.K.Subramanian arranged the function in a successful way. 

Sadhana Diwas at VKV Vallioor

A mammoth procession was convened to commemorate the 102nd  birth anniversary of Mananeeya Ekanathji Ranade (Founder of Vivekananda Kendra & Rock Memorial)  at Vallioor  on 19th November 2016.

The procession started at the waving of flag by   Mr. Prabhu Baskaran, Sub Inspector of Police, Vallioor, Man. Radha Didi, Dhakshin Prant Sangatak of Vivekananda Kendra & Man. Aparna Didi, All India Vyavastha Pramuk, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari.    Shri. S.K. Subramanian, Correspondent, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya was in the forefront.  The procession started from Vallioor Murugan Temple and ended at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.  The children’s band music was nice. Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring thoughts and slogans were highlighted and echoed at the procession in which nearly 900 students, parents and public participated eagerly.

We started the function at 2.30 p.m.  We have arranged the art & Science exhibition for enhancing knowledge and skills among the students.  The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Perumal, R.T.O., Vallioor.  He was very impressed by the presentation and he congratulated the students.  The exhibition was divided into four section.  1. Art  2. Science  3. Maths & Social   4. K.G. Section   5. Spiritual.  Rangoli of Gita Upathesh, Heart, Bharathiyar, India & Rock Memorial were superb. The paintings of Dasavatharam, Bagavath Gita’s 18 Chapters & the Quotations of Man. Eknathji Ranade were there. Many school teachers, students, parents saw the exhibition and appreciated the students.  Our correspondent Shri. S.K. Subramanian presented the memento to our chief guest. We concluded the function with Kendra prayer. 

Vijiya Dasami & Vidyaramba celebration in vkv Vallioor

In vkv vallioor school, celebrated Vijaya Dasami & Vidyaramba in a grand manner on 11.10.2016.

In school, students arranged kolu two days before itself by building a rack of odd numbered (9) shelves of kolu. After the kolu set up was covered with fabric and adorned with various dolls and toys according to their size, with deities at the top and pooja also offered. This ceremony commenced with devotional prayer song by our teacher. Next one of our teachers Mrs. Devi welcomed the gatherings of the function.  Next our school Correspondent Shri. S.K. Subramanian felicitated the function and started the  Vidyaramba with a great inspiration.  Nearly 35  parents participated with their children  interestingly in this function. Next our new admission students wrote the great Manthra  ‘Ohm’ in the turmeric rice.  This is a way of ancient tradition method writing in the rice. The celebration came to  end with Kendra Prayer.  Prasatham was distributed to all. 

Vinayagar Chathurthi celebration at VKV, Vallioor

Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day Hindu festival celebrated to honour the elephant-headed God Ganesha's birthday. He is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Ganesha is known by 108 different names and is the Lord of arts and science and the deva of wisdom. He is honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies as he's considered the God of beginnings. He's widely and dearly referred to as Ganapati or Vinayaka.

The  Birthday of Lord Ganesha is celebrated as Vinayaga Chathurthi.   Every year we celebrate the festival by preparing the idol of Lord  Ganesha  with the help of XI std  students.  The Vinayaga charthurthi celebration was celebrated  from  01.09.2016 to 07.09.2016.    Each class was given a chance to worship Lord Ganesha by offering flowers and Prasadam.   Students worshipped  Lord Ganesha through chanting  Manthras.

After completing the Pooja, prasatham was distributed to the students and staff.   The last day Pooja was conducted by X, XI &  XII std students in a grand manner on 07.09.2016.   After completing  the last day celebration of Vinayaga chathruthi,  the idol of Lord Ganesha was taken by our students for Visarjanam.  With the blessings of Lord Ganesha the ceremony was conducted very auspiciously.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya MHSS, Vallioor celebrates Gokulashtami and Rakshabandhan

The Birth of Lord Krishna was for the express purpose of re - establishing the fundamentals of faith within the Hindu people

The twin festivals Gokulashtami and Rakshabandhan  were celebrated with an intense fervour on 24th Augest in our school. The festival ceremony started at 11.00 a.m. in the presence of Rtd. Tahsildar Mr.Nambi Ayyankar, Tirukurungudi. The programme was started by prayer song. Chief guest delivered a thought provoking lecture about  Krishna Jeyanthi and Rakshabandhan. On his speech he pointed out the greatness of Lord Krishna and the speciality  of Rakshabandhan . Our students chanted slogans from the Bhagavat geetha devotionally. Dance of Gobikas and Uriyadi by Lord  Krishna were very special . Our kids were dressed as Radhas and Krishnas and beautified  the function. Each class sisters and brothers were asked to tie the Rakhi rope during the function. Parents were invited for the function. Finally celebration concluded by Kendra prayer. “Raksha Bandhan is a term from the Hindi language which means a relationship or an association based on protection”

Nivethitha Didi, Vice president of Vivekananda Kendra and Rock memorial, Kanyakumari was the special guest.  Students from all the level participated in Band Display.  Students made the celebration a grand one by presenting different programmes as Bharathanatyam, different kinds of exercises,  Yoga,  Karate,  Hoops, and Pyramid.   Speeches  about freedom in Tamil and English were delivered by the  Students.  Inspiring speeches were given by our honorable guests and they awarded prizes to the students who scored more than 90% marks during the last academic year.  After the celebration, sweets were distributed to students and parents. The celebration came to end with Kendra Prayer.   Our School correspondent Shri. S.K. Subramanian arranged the function in a grand one.
