The Yoga Shiksha Shibir was held at Vivekanand Kendra, Kanyakumari between 1st to 15th May 2022, With this the YCC new batch also started. Total 56 participants attended the shivir who came from various states like Maharashtra, Gujrat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Aasam, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu & Kerala.
Formal reporting and registrations started from the morning on 30th April and introductory session was held the same day in the evening after Bhajan Sandhya & Supper wherein participants were given orientation of the camp.
Medium of the camp was Hindi & English.Participants were organized into 7 different groups that were named after ShadDarshan Pranetas Kapil, Patanjali, Gautama, Kanad, Jaimini, Vyas and seventh as Vashishth.
The 15 days camp had morning prayers, yogabhyas, pranayama, shramsanskar, theory sessions, group discussions, chanting practice, bhajan sandhyas & prerana se punrutthan sessions.
In yoga practicals, participants were taught loosening exercises, suryanamaskaras and various asanas that are done in a particular way. In pranayama practice they were trained into a systematic order of pranayamas that follows a sequence for optimum benefit.
Theory lectures comprised of sessions on concept of yoga, yama, niyama, aasana, pranayama, antrang yoga,kriya-bandha-mudras, yoga & food, bhagvad gita , karmayoga, jnanayoga, bhaktiyoga, anand mimansa, omkara & Indian culture.
There were lectures about Swami Vivekananda, Ma. Eknathji, Story of Rock Memorial, Kendra Prarthana & Sanghe Shakti Kaliyuge.
All these were followed by Manthan i.e. group discussions so participants could get deeper insights and express their understanding about the subjects.
In Geet Abhyas satras, participants were taught various chantings that included shanti mantra, Aikya mantra, pratahsmaran prayer, bhagvadgeeta karmayog shloksamgraha & Shivir geet along with few other songs.
Participants did Shuddhikriyas Jalneti, Sutraneti & Vaman dhauti twice during the Shivir. They practiced Trataka as well in a session and also experienced Omkara Dhyan & Cyclic Meditation during the shivir.
Daily bhajan sandhyas added a flavour of Bhakti & emotional culture through devotional chantings.
Pure & Satvik food devised according to the routine was a part of daily diet which supported the yogsadhana of the participants throughout the days.
Prerana se punrutthan sessions introduced participants to various VK activities & projects and also helped them unwind through actions songs, games & cultural performances.
Shramsanskar sessions instilled attitude of service, cleanliness & self sufficiency into the participants.
All took part in ‘Kendra Vargas’ on 2 Sundays during the shivir. Participants visited Rock memorial on 5th May that stands as a source of inspiration & energy for all. They also had darshan of Kanyakumari temple. On 10th May participants trekked onto Marutvamalai hill which is a very significant mountain in many ways.On 11th May they went to see 3 exhibitions in the campus; Gangotri, Arise-Awake and Ramayana Darshanam which gave them an idea and outline about Swamijis Vision, Ekanathjis life and chronology of the epic Ramayana.
The Shivir went on well in a congenial, spiritual atmosphere with moderate discipline and affection.
Many of the participants have expressed their willingness to devote their time & energy for the service of the society through Kendra activities.
विवेकानन्द केन्द्र कन्याकुमारी, शाखा-गया द्वारा योग सत्र का आयोजन शुक्रवार, 15 अप्रैल 2022 से रविवार, 24अप्रैल 2022 तक प्रात: 6:00 - 7:30 बजे तक धर्मशाला भवन, रमना रोड, गया में किया गया। जिसमे कुल पंजीयन 23 की रही; जिसमे ओसतन उपस्थिति 17 की रही।
दस दिवस के योग सत्र में योगाभ्यास में शिथलीकरण, सूर्यनमस्कार, आसन, प्राणायाम सीखते हुए योगाभ्यास की दैनिक दिनचर्या सीखी। योग के सिधांत एवं अष्टांग योग को अपने जीवन में कैसे आत्मसात कर सकते है यह भी देखा। योग सत्र में सभी प्रतिभागीयों में बड़ी ही उत्साह एवं सिखने की ललक दिखी।
आज योग सत्र का समापन दिवस था। विशेष उपस्थिति आ. विजय कारण जी, विभाग संचालक, पटना विभाग की रही उन्होंने योग और जीवन शैली कैसा हो, खान पान कैसा हो, इसपर चर्चा करते हुए उपयुक्त जानकारी दी; एवं प्रो. अरुण कुमार प्रसाद, नगर संचालक, गया नगर की रही उन्होंने विवेकानंद केंद्र का परिचय कराया और केंद्र की गतिविधियों के बारे में जानकारी दी।
योग सत्र के पश्चात वहां योग वर्ग शुभारम्भ करने की योजना है।
विवेकानंद केंद्र के जोधपुर के गीता भवन कार्यालय में प्रतिदिन सुबह 6:30 से 7:30 तक योगाभ्यास होता है। इसमें शिथिलीकरण, सूर्य नमस्कार, आसन और प्राणायाम के नियमित अभ्यास होते हैं और साप्ताहिक ध्यान का अभ्यास भी होता है। विवेकानंद केंद्र के योग वर्ग प्रमुख पंकज व्यास ने बताया कि प्रतिदिन लगभग 20 साधक इसमें सहभागी होते हैं और स्वास्थ्य लाभ करते हैं। विवेकानंद केंद्र के विभाग प्रमुख प्रेम रतन सोतवाल ने कहा कि विवेकानंद केंद्र की योग गतिविधियां पिछले दो दशकों से गीता भवन में निरंतर चल रही है और अनेकों ने इसका लाभ उठाया है। जीवनव्रति दीपक खैरे ने कहा कि विवेकानंद केंद्र राजस्थान के अनेक शहरों में नियमित रूप से इस तरह के योग वर्गों का आयोजन करता है। युवा प्रमुख शाम मालवीय ने कहा कि विवेकानंद केंद्र समय-समय पर जोधपुर शहर के विभिन्न पार्कों और सार्वजनिक स्थलों पर योग सत्रों का आयोजन करता है जिससे कि अधिकाधिक लोगों को इसका लाभ मिले। राज भूतड़ा ने बताया कि वे पिछले 5 वर्षों से केंद्र के योग वर्ग में आ रही है और इससे जीवन में अनुशासन लाने और स्वस्थ रहने में उन्हें बहुत मदद मिलती है। जुगल किशोर अग्रवाल ने बताया के योग से जीवन में आनंद प्राप्त होता है और वे पिछले 5 वर्षों से नियमित योगाभ्यास करते हैं। अनीता बोराना दीदी ने बताया कि वह वजन कम करने के लिए नियमित आती है और उसका उन्हें लाभ भी प्राप्त हो रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि बच्चों को भी नियमित रूप से योगाभ्यास करना चाहिए। प्रिया अग्रवाल बताया कि उन्हें यहां योग सीखने और सिखाने में मदद मिलती है। नियमित अभ्यासी प्रकाश भाटी, भगवान पंवार, विनीत कपूर, अनुराधा दीदी, मनीष चौहान ने इस योग वर्ग को अत्यंत लाभप्रद बताया और सभी को इसमें सहभागी होने का आह्वान किया।
The fifth Yoga Sastra Sangamam was held at Vivekananda Kendra, Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari from 25th to 27th February 2022.
In all 216 delegates and 11 guests participated in the deliberations. The National Conference was organised with the collaboration of Centre for Yoga and Naturopathy, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala and supported by Indian Yoga Association. Dr Jayaraman Mahadevan of IndicA Yoga explained in four sessions the depth of Hatha Pradipika Text. His sessions were highly appreciated by one and all for the scholarly exposition of this important Yoga Sastra in detail. On 25th evening there was a grand cultural fete by the students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari.
The Yoga Sastra Sangamam was inaugurated by the Honourable Governor of Kerala Sri Arif Mohammed Khan. He in his inaugural address traced the roots of Yoga in Vedas, Upanishads, Astavakra Gita and the traditional texts. He summed up with the message of yoga to the modern age. Honourable Governor also released the ‘Conference Proceedings’ containing all the abstracts of the paper presentations and the Vivekananda Kendra Patrika titled ‘The Saga of Vivekananda Rock Memorial’.
Mananeeya Nivedita Bhide, Vice President, Vivekananda Kendra in her inspiring scholarly address explained the importance of Sastra and Science. She emphasised that yoga is the life based on the foundations of Dharma.
Dr Harilakshmeendrakumar, Director, Centre for Yoga Naturopathy, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala expressed his happiness for collaborating with such a unique national conference on Yoga Sastra.
Simultaneously three multi track paper presentation sessions were held at three different venues in which 70 scholarly papers were presented by Yoga Professionals, Phd. Research Scholars, Doctorates in Yoga and Sanskrit. There are 10 foreign delegates, seven from Afghanistan and three from Nepal. Three key note addresses were given by Dr K Subrahmanyam of Svyasa, Sri NV Raghuram from Yoga Bharati, Bangalore and Dr TV Padmanabhan from Mahatma Gandhi University. The Yoga Sastra Sangamam was concluded on 27th February with Patanjala Yoga Sutra Parayanam led by Dr Jayaraman Mahadevan.
Speaking on the Topic “Yoga a way of life” as the first speaker of this webinar Dr Subash Chandra Dash, Associate professor, Head Department of Sanskrit, Utkal University, said “The land of India is a sacred since time immemorial and Yoga is the greatest contribution to the world. The world has learned a lesson in this pandemic and has acknowledged Yoga as a way of life. Dr. Dash mentioned the three kinds of sorrows adhyātmika, adhibhautika and adhidaivika. He also explained the six SadhakaTattwa on the Path of Yoga- Enthusiasm (Utsah, Courage (Sahas), Perseverance (Dhairya), Discriminative knowledge (Tattvajnana), Determination (Nischaya), Aloofness from company (Janasanghaparityaga).
The Second speaker Professor Rabindranath Pati, department of anthropology Mekelle University East Africa, on the Topic “Yogic way of Energy balancing” mentioned about on Chakasand Ajapa Japa meditation.
The third speaker Dr.SANJIB KUMAR PATRA, Associate professor Yoga, Central University, Rajastahan on the topic“Yoga and Stress management” said “Stress is a threat to ourbody’s homeostasis. He discussed the sources of stress, fight and flight condition, stress hormones, how to identify the stress and manage the stress through Yoga”.
The 2nd day webinar was on 20thJune.Mananiya Sri Hanumantha Rao ji, All India Vice President of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari has delivered lecture on “Yoga a Path towards Man-making”. Speaking on the topic Hanuji said “Yoga is the only path for man making because we can get good samskar through yoga. Man making is what is shown outside, should be what we are inside. Freedom from negative emotions e.g. Kama (lust/craving), Krodha (anger), Lobha (greed), Moha (delusion), Mada (arrogance, vanity) and Matsarya (jealousy) is man making. Vrittis are the cause of our problems. MaharshiPatanjali point out how to transformation the vrittis. ChittaVrittinirodha is man making. Man making need a long time practice (dirgha kala nairantarya) with tapas (which will reduce our comforts), Asana (for bring stability in body and mind) and Pranayama (for capable the mind to remain focus our activity, work and attitude). Man making means develop the positive qualities, attitude and guna by inculcating four primary virtues i.e. Maitri (Friendship) ; Karuna (Compassion) Mudita (Joy) and Upekshanam (Indifference). As per Bharatiya sanatana Samskritithe world is one family (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) and human being is a part of creation. So for the benefits of others through Seva yoga is Man making. Swami Vivekananda who is a Nabayuga Patanjali says Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity by controlling nature, external and internal. Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy - by one, or more, or all of these - and be free. This is man making.”
The two days’ live webinar witnessed through youtube over 600 viewers. Prof. Dr. Basudev Chhatoi gave well come address, Prof. Dr. Nirmal Chandra Das presented the concluding remark with vote of thanks and Sri Ajaya Kumar sahoo co-ordinated the two-days webinar.
विवेकानंद केंद्र कन्याकुमारी शाखा जोधपुर, राजस्थान प्रांत द्वारा 11 जुलाई से 15 जुलाई तक प्राणायाम सत्र का आयोजन किया गया। यह सत्र ऑनलाइन गूगल मीट पर तथा ऑफलाइन केंद्र परिसर भवन में किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में ऑनलाइन तथा ऑफलाइन 52 अभ्यासियो ने भाग लिया जो 15 से 70 वर्ष आयु के थे।
प्रथम दिन कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत मां भारती के समक्ष दीप प्रज्वलित कर की गई। शिथिलीकरण की क्रियाओं का अभ्यास श्याम मालवीय तथा पंकज व्यास द्वारा कराया गया । दीपक जी द्वारा शरीर में प्राण क्या है ? प्राणायाम क्या है? इस विषय को समझाया गया। प्रेम रतन जी द्वारा कपालभाति , खंडिय और पूर्ण योगिक श्वसन का अभ्यास कराया गया।
सत्र के दूसरे दिन श्याम मालवीय और जुगल किशोर अग्रवाल ने श्वसन क्रियाओं का अभ्यास, व्याघ्र श्वसन तथा लघु शवासन कराया। दीपक जी द्वारा पंचकोश का विस्तृत वर्णन और प्रेम रतन जी द्वारा चंद्र अनुलोम विलोम,चंद्र भेदन,सूर्य भेदन, नाड़ी शोधन का अभ्यास कराया गया।
सत्र के तीसरे दिन श्याम मालवीय और जुगल किशोर अग्रवाल ने श्वसन अभ्यास, ॐ कार उच्चारण के साथ शशांक आसन श्वसन कराया गया। दीपक खैरे जी द्वारा पंचप्राण का विस्तृत वर्णन किया गया । प्रेम रतन जी द्वारा भस्त्रिका, भ्रामरी का भी अभ्यास कराया गया।
चौथे दिन के सत्र में श्याम मालवीय और जुगल किशोर अग्रवाल ने श्वसन अभ्यास को मंत्रों के साथ कराया । दीपक जी द्वारा कोविड महामारी को ध्यान में रखते हुए अधोमुख श्वसन की जानकारी हरि भैया के डेमो के साथ दी गई । प्रेम रतन जी द्वारा उज्जायी , शीतली, शीतकारी का अभ्यास कराया गया।
सत्र के समापन दिवस 15 जुलाई को मुख्य अतिथि और वक्ता जोधपुर नगर संचालक अशोक दानी जी ने सहभागियों को स्वयं को स्वस्थ रखते हुए राष्ट्र को भी स्वस्थ रखने का आव्हान किया । इसके पूर्व राज भूतड़ा द्वारा सत्र परिचय व नगर प्रमुख डॉ अमित व्यास जी द्वारा केंद्र परिचय, श्याम मालवीय द्वारा सभी का धन्यवाद ज्ञापन किया गया। उसके पश्चात सभी सहभागियों ने अपना अनुभव साझा किया। केंद्र प्रार्थना के पश्चात अल्पाहार रखा गया।
For the International Day of Yoga program, 2551 registrations were received from people all over Tamil Nadu till 18th June 2021. Yoga practice sessions as per common yoga protocol were conducted for all the registered participants on 19th and 20th June 2021. The practice sessions were conducted from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on both days through ZOOM which was broadcast live on YouTube also. The yoga demonstrations and instructions were given by Vivekananda Kendra Chennai Karyakarthas.
On 21st June 2021, the collective online program was organised from 6 a.m. to 7.30 a.m. The program was conducted through ZOOM and was also broadcast live on YouTube [Click here to watch]. About 1100 people joined this program via Zoom & YouTube.
The program started with lighting the lamp and prayer. Sri. Saravanakumar, Karyakartha, VK Madurai sang a patriotic song which was followed by welcome address by Smt. Sariga, Vice Principal, VKV Kanyakumari. Mananeeya Sri. Hanumanth Rao Ji, All-India Vice President, VRM & VK gave the Asirvachan in which he expounded the positive effects of Yoga and stressed upon the continued practice of Yoga.
Then, yoga practice (as per CYP) was done for which the demonstration and instructions were given from VK Chennai. The yoga practice session was completed with Sankalpa which was led by Sri. Natarajan, Karyapaddhati Pramukh, VK Madurai. Smt. Thangalakshmi, YCC Coordinator, VRM & VK gave the vote of thanks with a brief introduction of Kendra activities. The whole program was anchored by Kum. Vedha Vidhya, Karyakatha, VK Chennai and it was concluded with Shanti Mantra.
Apart from this online program, several programs were done in actual also with COVID precautionary measures:

Altogether around 2000 people participated in the International Day of Yoga 2021 celebrations in Tamil Nadu Vibhag. Totally 1524 feedback forms were received from the participants and 1539 E-certificates of participation were issued.

Sri Laxminarayan Bhai, Prakalpa Sangathak spoke on PANCHAKOSHA in general and Pranamaya Kosha in particular.
• When a man involves in any activity, he uses 5 aspects – the Body (Annamaya Kosha), energy behind (Pranamaya Kosha), Mind (Manomaya Kosha), the thinking faculty (Vijananmaya) and the feeling of Bliss (Anandamaya kosha).
• This is beautifully described in Taiteriya Upanishad – Brigu-Varuni samvad.
• Veda say we have to live upto 100 years. For that the body should be properly utilised. The nearest thing to the Physical body is the Pranic body.
• Pranayama important to balance and activate the Pranic body.
