International Day of Yoga Celebrations at Eknath Vibhag

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness. In West Bengal Prant, Eknath Vibhag organized 75 Yoga programs across various Nagars and Karyasthans from 15th to 28th June 2025. These sessions collectively witnessed a participation of 4,652 people and the active involvement of over 102 Karyakartas.

The programs were conducted in schools, educational institutions, and public places, engaging people from all age groups and walks of life. Participants actively performed Yogāsanas, Prāṇāyāma, and meditation practices as per the Common Yoga Protocol outlined by the Ministry of AYUSH.

In addition to the one-day sessions, Vivekananda Nagar Karyasthan, Hooghly Sadar Vande Mataram Karyasthan organized seven-day Yoga Satras, while Dakshineswar Nagar conducted a three-day Yoga Workshop to mark the occasion. These extended sessions emphasized regular practice and deeper understanding of Yoga as a holistic discipline for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

These initiatives helped reinforce the vision of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” and further strengthened community bonds through shared Yogic experiences.

Guru Purnima Utsav Celebration by Paschimbanga Prant , Bangla Prakasan Vibhag

 A Discourse session was organised by Bangla Prakashan Bibhag, Vivekananda Kendra, Paschim Banga Pranta on the occasion of Gurupurnima on 25th July.

The program was held online. It started with Shantipath by Anuradha Das. After that Sri Dipten Chatterjee from Kamarpukur presented Staba and Gurubandana.
Introductory lecture was presented by Dr. Purnendu Shekhar Das (Retired Principal, Tinsukia Commerce College). Dr. Das etched a picture of the 'Rishis' of ancient India,their types , their characteristics.He spoke about saptarishi, maharshi Vyas, maharshi Balmiki and so on.

The Chief Speaker  was Swami Prabuddhananda Maharaj  (Principal Ramkrishna Vivekananda Mission, Joyrambati, Bankura). In a very simple language Swami ji enumerated the importance of a Guru in our life. A Guru is very important to guide us in our journey of life. But we have to select our Guru cautiously. The disciple has to be mentally prepared  to accept his Guru. Psychologically he has to  prepare himself, otherwise his diksha would be futile. Once we meet our Guru, we should consider him as the pole star of our life. Only then our spiritual enlightenment would be possible. In a very lucid manner Swami ji discussed this .

The program came to an end with shanti mantra. The whole program was conducted by Mitali Dutta.

Total 57 participants were joined in this program

Guru Purnima Utsav Celebration by Paschimbanga Pranta, Vivekananda Nagar

 On the occasion of Gurupurnima Vivekananda Nagar  organised an offline - onsite programme on 24th July 5.30 at MA Niwas, house of Shri  Pradeep Jayaswal.
 
The programme started with 3 Omkars Shantipath, Eikyamantra followed by Stavan and Guru Bhajans .
Shri Shyamsunder Jaiswal(Eknath Vibhag Vavyastha Pramukh) analysed the message sent by Mananeeya Nibedita Didi.

Shri Arvind Singh (Prant Saha Karyalay Pramukh) informed all about the Sages of India with reference to Swami Vivekananda's lectures from Colombo to Almora,

The Programme ended with Santi Mantra followed by Prarthna.

Total No of attendees were 65.

Guru Purnima Utsav Celebration by Shantiniketan Vibhag, Paschimbanga Prant

 Shantiniketan Vibhag of Paschimbangla Pranta  organised a virtual program on 25th July to celebrate Gurupurnima.

The programme was started with 3 Omkars and Shanti Path followed by Guru Bandana performed by Sayan Pal, a little kendra Karyakarta  ,and  Shri Subha Bagdi (Sanskar Varga Pramukh, Durgapur) .
 
Shri Someswar Boral,Sah sanjojok of Siuri Karyasthan threw light on the message of Gurupurnima sent by Ma.Nibedita Didi. Didi pointed out the importance of observing different festivals which would help to  preserve Sanatan rituals.

Shri Subrata Das (Research Scholar and Karyakarta of Vivekanada Kendra) introduced Shri Biswanath Chakraborty, the key note speaker-the Secretary of Vivekananda Seva O Shiksha Bikash Sangha,Birbhum.

In his speech Biswanathda told that Guru parampara,an age old tradition in our country helped
since time immemorial  disciples to find out right path in the life .

He focused on Omkar, the Guru of Vivekananda Kendra , as the highest entity in Bharatiya culture.

The Program was concluded with vote of thanks by Shri Ruhidas Ghosh(Durgapur Nagar Pramukh)  followed by Santi Mantra .

The program was conducted by Shri Subrata Mondal (Sampark Pramukh,Durgapur Nagar).

In this program 38 participants took part .

Discourse on Raja Yoga organised by Paschimbanga Prant

 Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Paschimbanga Prant has conducted a series of Five Discourses on the four paths of Yoga and their synthesis in commemoration of the 7th International Day of Yoga through Webex & YouTube Live.

On 19th June Shri S. Sridharan Ji (Member, Board of Trustees, Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai) gave a talk on Raja Yoga' (3rd Discourse). It started with the welcome speech by Supriya Chandra followed by Shanti Path.
A brief introduction of the speaker was given by Ma. Debasish Lahiri (Sanchalak,Eknath Vibhag). Thereafter, Shri S. Sridharanji presented a crisp exposition on Raja Yoga. With warm gratitude expressed to Swami Atmapriyananda ji Maharaja and his Guru, Sri S. Sridharanji commenced his discourse on Raja Yoga. At the outset, he recited the prayer of Patanjali and this he followed with a prayer composed by him in reverence of Swami Vivekananda and two of his other Teachers.

Sridharanji drew extensively from Patanjali’s Yoga sutra and Swami Vivekananda’s Raja Yoga to place the context, the origin of Yoga, its approach, the essential message, specialty among the various Yoga forms, the need and use of commentaries of Yoga Sutra, etc. He entered into an elaborate elucidation of the origin of the Yoga, hence spoke at length about the Vedas and essence of Upanishads. In his extraordinary discussion, he covered areas such as the science of Raja Yoga, practice as the foremost path to realization, control of the psychic prana, and concentration and meditation. The clarity and precision of the talk on such a significantly solemn topic was remarkable.
 
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ma. Debasish Lahiri (Sanchalak,Eknath Vibhag) followed by Santi Mantra. The whole program was conducted by Ma.Nirmalya Bhattacharya (Sah Prant Sanchalak, Paschimbanga Prant).

International Day Of Yoga Celebration - Durgapur Nagar

 Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Durgapur Nagar celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga both Physical and Online.

Physical program was conducted in 9 places and the online program was conducted with collaboration with CSIR-CMERI Durgapur .


The program was started with 3 ॐ & Shanti Path followed by introduction Speech given by Dr. Harish Hirani ( Director ,CMERI Durgapur)
.
Shri Subrata Mondal (Sampark Pramukh, Durgapur Nagar and Pravasi karyakarta of Eknath Vibhag) conducted the yoga session as per the Yoga Day Protocol, loosening exercise, Aasans and Pranayam.

Ma. Vishwas Lapalkar (Prant Sanghatak, Paschimbanga Prant, Vivekananda Kendra) taken the Dhana and enlightened about the concept of oneness through yoga.

Program Concluded with Shanti Mantra.

Total 108 participants in the physical programmes and 55 participants were participated in the online program via Google Meet.

Adi Guru Shankaracharya Jayanti Celebration at West Bengal Prant

 Namaste, On the auspicious occasion of Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Paschimbanga Pranta organised an Online Bhajan Sandhya program followed by Omkar Dhyana on 17th May 2021, Monday from 6 to 7 pm.

It started with 3 Omkar, Aikya Mantra followed by Bhajan & Nirvanshatakam.

Prof.Rakesh Das (Prant Pramukh) enlightened the karyakartas about the life & teachings of Adi Guru Shankaracharya. Shri Vishwas Lapalkar (Prant Sangathak) took the Omkar Dhyana Session.

The programme was Concluded with Shanti Mantra & Kendra Prarthana.

Ma.Pravin Dhabolkar (All India Treasurer, Vivekananda Kendra) also embraced us with his presence in the program.

In this Program total 107 participants were taking part of it .

72nd Republic Day Celebration - Durgapur Nagar

 Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Durgapur Nagar celebrated the 72nd Republic Day on 26th January with different cultural program at Vivekananda Uddyan , Viswakarma Nagar .

 The program begins with 3 Om kar Santi Path followed by Flag hoisting,Bharat Mata Pujon. Shri Ashok Borah(Nagar Sanchalak,RSS) and Shri Niloy Munshi (Ex. Airforce Officer and Anandalaya Palak) was present during the Flag hoisting.

Later different type of games was organised throughout the day and all Sanskar Varga Karyakarta, Anandalaya students were participated .

At the evening a cultural program was organised where Anandalaya students has participated and perform Recitation, dance on patriotic song also Sanskar Varga karyakartas performed yoga pyramid.

The program was concluded with Prize distribution for different competition followed by a heart touching Speech by Shri Santi Nath Bhattacharya (President, Vivekananda Janmotsav O Seva Samiti) also Shri Achyut Hazra(Vibhag Karyavah,RSS) . We did Kendra Prarthana at the end.

The whole program was conducted by the Yuva Karyakartas under the guidance of Shri Prolay Dhali (Nagar Karyapadhati Pramukh).

Total 157 audience present in the program.

Netaji Birthday Celebration at Durgapur

 Vivekananda Kendra,Durgapur Nagar has Celebrated the Nataji Subhas Chandra Bose's 125th Birth Anniversary, PARAKRAM DIWAS on 23rd January,2021 with different cultural program at Vivekanada Uddyan, Viswakarma Nagar .

The program begins with Flag hosting by Shri Santi Nath Bhattacharya (President, Vivekananda Janmotsav O Seva Samiti) followed by National Anthem,  Pushpanjali to Bharat Mata & Netaji. Samskar Varga karyakartas performed Geet followed by Swadesh Mantra Path. Different type of Games, Surya Namaskar, Quiz on general knowledge was organised throughout the day.

On this auspicious day 62 woolen blankets were distributed to the needy people and in this ocassion Shri Debasish Sinha , Ex Director (M&RA), DPL and Dr. Polash Dalui , Zela Pracharak (RSS) was present with us. An heart touching speech was given by Dr. Polash Dalui on Netaji and his freedom fight against British.
 
Shri Ruhidas Ghosh(Nagar Pramukh) and Shri Swapan Kumar Samanta (Vyavastha Pramukh) did "Ek Bhata - Vijayi Bharat" Sampark on the occasion of 50 years of Rock Memorial with  Shri Debasish Sinha , Ex Director (M&RA), DPL and handed over to him picture of Rock memorial , booklet on history of Rock memorial and activity report of Durgapur.

The whole program was conducted by Karyakartas under the guidance of Shri Prolay Dhali ( Karya Padhati Pramukh)

Total 87 Sisters and Brother along with organizing team participated in this auspicious occasion with divine blessings of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration at Durgapur

 On the Occasion of Swami Vivekanan's Jayanti Vivekananda Kendra, Durgapur Nagar, West Bengal organised a whole day program on 12th January at Vivekananda Udyan, M.A.M.C .

Day Started with Yagna followed by Gita path. Special Guest Dr. Subhas Sarkar , MP of Bakura was present in Malyadan karyakram on Swamiji Stachu .

Organised different competition's started with Surya Namaskar and total 54 little sisters and brothers were participated in the event .

In the afternoon program continues with Sanskrit Sloke , Quiz on Vivekananda , Blowing Sankha and Bhakti Geeti competition followed by Dharma sabha.

In the Dharma Sabha Introductory speech was given by Shri Shri Raja Halder and Shri Kunal Mondal Karyakarta of Durgapur Nagar followed by the speech our chief Speaker Shri Santinath Bhattacharya , President of  Vivekananda Janmotsav O Seva Samiti .
Total 153 audience was present in the Dharma Sabha.

Shri Ruhidas Ghosh Nagar Pramukh described the Kendra activities in durgapur and make appeals to the audience to join with us in this Man Making Nation building work. Shri Tapas Pal ( Saha Nagar Pramukh) delivered Vote of Thanks .

The program was concluded with Prize distribution ceremony .

Total 276 Audience was present throughout the day.

Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration at Balagarh , West Bengal

158th Swami Vivekananda Jayanti was celebrated at Balagarh, west bengal Sripur Kalyan Samity Pathagar Auditorium on Tuesday  12th January,2021,

🔥 1st program started with Padayatra a Rally at 9-30 a.m.from Sripur Kalyan Samity Pathagar Campus & returned to the same point at 10-30 a.m Total Participants- 33
 🔥 2nd Program "Sit & Draw" Art competition was arranged from 10-30 a.m.to 12-30 p.m.It was divided in 4 groups ranging from Nursery level. to H.S. level students.The participants were 44.
🔥 3rd Program Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, Bharat mata Bandana & Matri-Bandana followed by cultural program on Swamiji's life & Message.

The guests were Sri Samir Sinha, Kamala Kanta Acharya & Ambika Prasad Seth. The unique idea of Matri-Bandana was initiated & innovated by Dipankar Biswas, Sampark Pramukh of Balagarh and Conducted by Subarna Halder. Total 70 people participated in the program.

Total participants 147 in Vivekananda Jayanti Celebrations.

Run with Vivek Jyoti on Samartha Bharat Parva at Durgapur

 On Samartha Bharat Parva Vivekananda Kendra, Durgapur Nagar was organised a run with Vivek Jyoti on 12th January from Vivekananda Udyan .

Program was started with the Nagar Parikrama with Vivek-Joyti. Total 65 sisters and Brothers were participated in the auspicious run and  covered Apx. 10 km area around the city. During the run slogan's of Swami ji was given and the mother's were welcomed the karyakartas by blowing Sankha and with flowers in different places.

Total 145 audience was present in the Karyakram.

Geeta Jayanti - Balagarh Karyasthan West Bengal

 On the occasion Geeta Jayanti, Balagarh Karyasthan of Paschimbanga Pranta was organised a physical program on 2nd January,2021 at 3PM .

The program has started with Shanti Mantra Path & Lighting Lamp by Mananiya Pradeep Jaiswal ji , Prant Sampark Pramukh. Karma yoga slokes of Bhagavad Gita were chanted  followed by a ' Krishna Bhajan by the karyakartas. A mind blowing speech was delivered on Geeta Mahatya and we should implement it in our daily life by our special Guest Mananiya Ambika Prasad Seth.

Total 36 participants were present in the Program .

Geeta Jayanti Celebration at West Bengal

 On the occasion Geeta Jayanti, Santiniketan Bibhag of Paschimbanga Prant was organised a virtual program to celebrate the Gita Jayanti on 3rd January 2021

The program was started with a Vagan of Geeta and Shri Subrata Mondal , Sampark Pramukh Durgapur gave small introduction about Geeta Jayanti .

Our Chief Guest and Main speaker Shri Santinath Bhattacharya, President Vivekananda Janmotsob O Seva Samiti,Durgapur and Nagar Swadhay Varga Pramukh spoke on Karmayoga. He explained the inner meaning of Karmayoga with very simple language and how we should do our karma in our daily life .

Total 16 persons were participated in the program.

Weekly Kendra Varga at Durgapur Nagar ,Paschimbanga Prant

 

 Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Durgapur Nagar Weekly Kendra Varga On 3rd January ,2021 from evening 4.30PM to 5.30PM at Vivekananda Uddyan ,M.A.M.C .

Kendra varga was started with Santi manta followed by Aikya mantra and Yoga Abhyas . We did swadhay on Samartha Bharat Parva , Shri Ruhidas Ghosh ,Nagar promukh conducted the Swadhay .

Kendra Varga was concluded with Santi Mantra followed by Kendra Prarthana .

Total 37 participants were participated in the Kendra varga .

Monthly Kendra Varga Paschimbanga Prant

 

Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Paschimbanga Prant Monthly Kendra Varga On 3rd January from evening 5.30PM to 6.30PM.

Kendra Varga started with 3 Omkar, Shanti Path followed by Yoga Abhyas conducted by Shri Sanatan Mahakund ,  and Geet . Geeta Karma Yoga slokes were chanted by Ku. Subhangi Upadhay and We did the Swadhyay on Geeta Jayanti. Shri Janardan Ghosh Prof. of Belur Math University and Dakhineswar Karyasthan Sanyojak  did the presentations on Geeta in our daily life .

It was concluded with Shanti Mantra followed by Kendra Prarthana.

The Varga sanchalan was done by Shri Subrata Mondal.

Total 22 participants were participated in Kendra Varga .

Geeta Jayanti and Dhuni Utsab Celebration Durgapur Nagar

 Vivekananda Kendra , Durgapur Nagar was organised a program on the occasion of Geeta Jayanti and Dhuni Utsab at Vivekananda Uddyan, M.A.M.C on 25th December .

Dhuni utsab was celebrated with yagna followed by mantra chanting . Shri Santi Nath Bhattacharya Ex. Sanskrit Teacher and President of Vivekananda Janmotsab O Seva Samiti described the Karmayoga with very simple words and by chanting the Karmayoga sloke .

In this occasion Woolen Blanket was also distributed to the needy people .

Total Participants in the Program - 67.

Geeta Jayanti Celebration at West Bengal

 On the occasion Geeta Jayanti, Eknath Bibhag and Bangla Prakashan Bibhag of Paschimbanga Pranta jointly organised a virtual program in celebration of Gita Jayanti on 25th Dec 2020.

Smt. Mitali Dutta Bangla Prakasan Vibhag karyakarta gave small introduction about Geeta Jayanti followed by Geeta Karmaya Yoga Sloke chanting by the karyakartas.

Chief Guest and Main speaker Swami Shivananda Maharaj, Assistant General Secretary of Shree Shree Anandamayee Sangha,Kankhal Haridwar spoke on Karmayoga. He explained the inner meaning of Karmayoga with very simple language.

Total 85 person was participated in the program.

Winter Relief Work Durgapur Nagar, Pachimbanga Prant

 In this Covid Pandemic Situation Vivekananda Kendra , Durgapur Nagar has started Woolen Blanket distribution (Winter Relief Work) from December,2020 . One of our well wisher Shri Mukesh Trivedi donates 1000 woolen blanket to Durgapur Nagar . We have started distribution those blankets in 7 slam areas of Durgapur where Some kendra work , Anandalaya are going on . Apart from this blankets were distributed to many daily wager and beggar also .

Till now total 600 woolen blanket were distributed and rest 400 yet to be distributed within December .

Sadhana Divas Celebration Shantiniketan Vibhag

 Vivekananda Kendra , Paschimbanga Prant, Shantiniketan Vibhag was organised a webinar of the Sadhana Divas on 22nd November, Sunday from 7:30pm. to 8:30pm on Google Meet.
       
The introductory speech was given by Shri Subrata Das (Bolpur Sampark Sthan Karyakarta).
followed by Geet and Swamiji Pranam mantra by Sanskar Varg Karyakartas.

On the auspicious occasion our chief speaker Shri Soumeswar Boral (Saha Sanyojak ,Suri Karyasthan ) gave a talk on the Sadhana Divas to explained the Sadhana of Ma . Eknath Ji and what does actually Sadhana means to him.

The program concluded with Vote of thanks by Shri Pulok Chatterjee (Tarapith Sampark Sthan Karyakarta). The whole  program was  coordinated by Shri Subrata Mondal (Sampark Pramukh , Durgapur Nagar).

Total Participation was 49.
