Vivekananda Kendra Vidhyalaya News Letter - 2020-2021

The year 2020 has seen some unprecedented events. The entire human race was attacked by an unknown and exampled enemy. The enemy disguised by the name Corona was so fierce that it caused havoc and despoliation wherever it went. However, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. With their backs to the wall the entire Homo sapiens race fought back. The VKV family in this hour of great crisis has shown exemplary courage and determination and with the blessings of Thakur Sri Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada Devi and Swamiji we are slowly but surely returning back to normalcy. But we should not let our guards down any time. These difficult times have taught us to explore new horizons which otherwise would not have been traversed under ordinary circumstances. Numerous activities were conducted during the year using different unique techniques. Some of the glimpses are below link.

VKVAPT August month newsletter

A martial arts student went to his teacher and said earnestly, “I am devoted to studying your martial system. How long will it take me to master it?”

The teacher’s reply was casual, “Ten years.” Impatiently, the student answered, “But I want to master it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice every day, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?”

The teacher thought for a moment, “20 years”.

In life we require Sadhana and Shradha to live a meaningful and successful life. It should be our earnest efforts to see that our students are growing with both qualities which would help them to master the basic skills from School education.

The gaon burahs (village elders) of Chayang Tajo, with this, go on to show that they got big hearts if not big literate heads.

“In addition to this (honorarium), I’ll give away one mithun to the cause,” declares, amidst a loud applause, Taffe Eri, the president of Chayang Tajo Goan Burah Welfare Association. “Nobody could better understand than us what it meant to be not educated,” he adds while speaking in a public meeting on 27th February last.

The image of Goddess Kanya enshrined in the temple.
kanyakumaritemple1
Kanyakumari is a veritable symbol of sanctity as well. As the legend goes, it was here that Goddess Parvati in one of her incarnations as Devi Kanya, did Tapasya to obtain the hand of God Shiva, the Lord of Kailash, in the Himalayas in the distant north. As a reminder of that event, there at the land's tapering end stands, from ancient times, a magnificent temple enshrining the Image of Goddess Kanyakumari. In fact, the Kanyakumari village has been known by that name only because of its association with this temple.
