Free Operation Camp by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh conducted a free operation camp from 19th to 21st September 2018 at Marwari Arogya Bhawan Hospital, Dibrugarh. Dr. Raju Wilkinson (General Surgeon ,Nagpur), Dr. Surajit Hazra(General Surgeon ,Nagpur), Dr. Sunil Agarwal(CMC, Vellore), Dr. Raja Phanindra Kumar(General Surgeon ,Amalapuram Medical College, Andhra Pradesh) and Samir Saikia(VKNRL Hospital, Numaligarh) voluntarily participated in the camp. 20 poor and needy patients from Tirap, Changlang, Namsai and East Siang districts of Arunachal Pradesh were operated free of cost during the camp for various ailments like Gall Bladder stones, Appendicitis, Branchial Cyst and Lipomas. 

The mobile medical team of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti conducted three screening camps to identify patients for operations. 52 patients were examined during the screening camps and 25 patients were selected for surgeries. Out of them 20 were operated and rest 5 were medically treated. 

The camp was inaugurated in the evening of 18th September by Sri Jyoti Kanoi, President, Executive committee, Marwari Arogya Bhawan Hospital, Dibrugarh. He lauded the efforts of Vivekananda Kendra in primary health care in the remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh and assured all possible help for such camps in future also. The inaugural meeting was attended by Executive committee members of Marwari Arogya Bhawan Hospital, Dibrugarh and Nagar Samiti members of Vivekananda Kendra, Dibrugarh.

Touch Screen Display at Gangotri Exhibition

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Ma. P. Parmeswaranji, President of Vivekananda Rock Memorial & Vivekananda Kendra has inaugurated Touch-Screen display at Gangotri Exhibition, in Vivekanandapuram campus, Kanyakumari on 31-July-2015 in presence of all the life-workers presence for the All India Organiser Camp at Kanyakumari.

Spiritual Retreat 5th to 11th February 2015

All India Spiritual Retreat was held in Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari from 05th to 11th February 2015.

The reporting day was 4th February and most of the participants had arrived and reported during the day. Thirty One participants from seven different states viz, Maharashtra (12 Participants), Assam (8 Participants), Gujarat (4 Participants) Tamil Nadu (2 Participants) reported. On the same day the participants attended the bhajan sandhya and introductory session, wherein the participants were given orientation for the camp. On 05th Morning, Retreat was inaugurated by Mananeeya Angirasji (Mamaji), Very Senior (1973) Life Worker.

The medium of the camp was in Hindi and English.

The 31 participants were organized into three different groups – three groups and named as Tyaga (English) Seva and Samskar (Hindi).

The seven day camp had Morning Prayers, Gita – Pathan, Yogabhyas, Shram – Samskar two lecture sessions, Manthan, Geet – Abhyas, Omkar Dhyan – Meditation, Bhajan Sandhya, and concluded with Ananda Mela.

The lecture sessions were on the topics of Concept of Spirituality, Kendra Prarthana, Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta, Acharya Shankara, Swami Vivekananda, Story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Vivekananda Kendra – Concept and activities and purposeful life and Manneeya Eknathji Janma Shati Parva Celebration.
During Manthan Participants discussed over different Chapters from Sadhana of Service.

During Shram – Samskar, Participants took care of the cleanliness, arrangement and management of the premises, accommodation, class rooms and dining hall displaying team – spirit and selfless service.

During the camp, participants visited Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari Amman Temple, Wandering Monk, Vivekananda Pictorial, Gramodaya and Gangotri exhibition. One day Pratahsmaran was held at Mandapam and participants also enjoyed the sunrise that day.

The Retreat went on well in a congenial, spiritual atmosphere with moderate discipline and affection.
Many of the participants have expressed their willingness to devout their time and energy for the service of the society through Vivekananda Kendra. Several enrolled as Patrons thus joining the large family of Vivekananda Kendra.

Declamation Training Camp at Mumbai

Declamation Training Camp at MumbaiSecond Declamation Training Camp (वक्ता प्रशिक्षण शिबिर) was Organized at Vile Parle, mumbai on 15th July 2012,  as a preparatory camp for 'Wake up Bharat Enlighten the world' with 55 participants.

In this Sri. Arvind KulkarniJi delivered talk on “Swami Vivekananda - Need of hour”. In that he highlighted the points that how Swamiji's life and teachings is role model for students, youth considering his concentration, curiosity, scientific approach and Rashtrabhakti. Man making education is the only solution for today's challenges. By giving examples of Swamiji life he highlighted the point that Hinduism is Nationalism.

Swamiji's Pictures was delivered by Shri. Kishor Jawale. He emphasized on fact that, we should not consider swamiji as God, and become free from our responsibilities but learn from his life, how a common man can become VishwaManav. He throw light on the concept of 'Spirituality'. Spirituality lies only in renounciation and selfless work. This session was followed by Manthan. Four groups discussed on the topics-1. Vivekananda's Childhood 2. How I like Vivekananda 3. Vivekananda- Patriotic monk  4. Vivekananda- Need of hour.


The camp was concluded by Shri. Abhay Bapat, Maharashtra Pranta Sanyojak. He told that success of the oratory lies in the character of the orator. He appealed the participants to work for स्वामी विवेकानंद सार्ध शती समारोह (150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda).

Personality Development Camp at Aalo

Personality Development Camp at AaloVivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti organized a camp for the students of class-VI to class-XII of  Upper  Subansiri, West Siang, Upper Siang and East Siang which were divided into 8 groups, 4 of brothers and 4 of sisters headed by Arun Jyoti karyakartas. V.K.V Jirdin, Aalo played host to the participants from 24th April-28th April, 2012.
The main motto of this five days camp was to develop the overall personality of the participants. This was done through many awe inspiring sessions, yoga, memory developing games, creative workshops.
Eminent personalities like Shri Tuter Nima, Dr. Tape Kaye, Shri Markar Padu, Kum. Suthapa Roy, Shri Romin Rava, Shri Rupesh Mathur, Shri Taro Sindik took the sessions.

Free Homoeopathic Medical Camp at Shimla

VK, Shimla branch organised a free Homoeopathic medical camp in its premises on 20/5/12 Sunday with sponsorship from Prof. S.R.Mehrotra, Retd. Professor in History, H.P.University, Shimla. Dr. Poonam Sood, D.H.M.S. from Rammandir Market treated the patients. About 43 patients got benefit from this camp. All the patients were given free medicine also.

Science Exhibition Training Camp at Umrangso

Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag, Assam organised a Science Exhibition Training camp at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Umrangso, Assam for the students of different Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas on 8th, 9th and 10th May 2012. On the first two days, the students were given training in various experiments in science and on 10th May trained students performed in front of other students and other schools (GARAMPANI GOVT. HIGH SCHOOL and KOPILI HIGH SCHOOL). For this purpose 30 students were selected from classes IX and X standard. The resource persons were Sri R.N. Dixit, lecturer in Sivaji Vidya Mandir Junior Science College and State Coordinator (Maharashtra) of National Children’s Science Congress, and Smt. Manjusha Dixit, Lecturer in Geography at Kanya Vidyalaya, Pune.
