5th June, 2014 was a day of joy and proud moment for
the people of Sadiya as it was the day when their much awaited dream of
having Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya at Sadiya was finally going to
become true. People started rushing in by as early as 7.00 am.
The day started with ‘Ganpati Puja’, which started at
8 am and went up to almost 9 am. The premise had the presence of
distinguished guests as well on this auspicious occasion. Some of the
important guests were Dr. Lakshmanan S., IAS, SDO (Civil), Sadiya, Dr.
Dhananjay P Ghanawat, IPS, Additional SP, Chapakhowa, Sadiya, Sri M.
Bordoloi,Election Officer, Sadiya, Sri B. J. Manta, Circle Officer,
Sadiya, Sri Rintu Bodo, EAC, Sadiya, Smt. Kalawati Limboo, wife of
Ex-President of NEA, School Society, Sri Keshab Singh Limboo, son of
Late Gopal Singh Limboo, Sri Kamalakantji, RAO, VKSPV and Sri Ravi
Sawdeykar, Principal, VKV Dibrugarh. Apart from them, the number of
other parents and non- parents went almost up to more than 300.
The main programme started at 9.00 am. Some of the
highlights of the program were–Rabha Dance, Rabindra Sangeet, which
was performed by the students of VKV, Sadiya. A patriotic song was
presented by Nishita Jha, student of Class–VI of VKV, Tinsukia. There
were speeches by distinguished guests. Thereafter, there was tree
plantation done by the distinguished guests in the school premises.
Foundation of one classroom was laid by Sri Keshab Singh Limboo in the
memory of his father Late G. S. Limboo, Ex-President of NEA School
Society. Kheer was offered to all as prasada. Then the Chief Guest , Dr.
Lakshmanan S., IAS, SDO (Civil),Sadiya, inaugurated the banner of VKV,
Sadiya as well as School bus. Though it was a rainy day but that did not
affect the enthusiasm of the people and they remained till the end of
the program, which ended at around 1.00 pm.
