Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kerala Prant, Thiruvananthapuram Branch, organized the Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations on 15 September 2025 at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vazhuthacaud, from 10.00 to 11.00 am. A total of 47 participants, including 42 students, 3 staff members, and 2 karyakartas, took part in the programme.
The celebration commenced with Shantipath and lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome and introduction of the chief guest and karyakartas. Students presented a patriotic song, setting a vibrant tone for the occasion. Adarneeya Priyamvada Didi, Kerala Prant Karyalaya Pramukh, addressed the students of Class VIII. She highlighted how deeply Swami Vivekananda loved the motherland and took pride in Bharat’s culture. Didi explained the great inclusive principles of Vedanta—such as "Each Soul is Potentially Divine" and "Serve Man, Serve God"—which Swamiji introduced to the western world. She emphasized that these principles are capable of bringing humanity together, fostering not just tolerance but true universal brotherhood. She concluded her address by encouraging students to remain in touch with Swamiji’s life-giving thoughts, which would form a strong foundation for their bright future.
As part of the programme, each student was presented with a copy of the book Rebuild India, a compilation of Swamiji’s thoughts. The celebration concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.
