Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh recently conducted one Free Surgical Camp in collaboration with Remote Area Medical (RAM) corp., Knoxville, U.S.A. The camp was inaugurated on 12.02.2012 and was successfully concluded on 17.02.2012 at Central Hospital of Coal India Ltd., Margherita, Assam. The Chief General Manager of Coal India Ltd. Sri P.K.Borah Inaugurated the camp.Coal India Ltd under its Corporate Social responsibility fully cooperated with Vivekananda Kendra with its manpower and all sort of logistic support. People from many remote areas of Tirap,Changlang and Lower Dibang Valley districts of Arunachal Pradesh registered their names for the camp. A total 78 patients were screened by our own doctor and 37 were registered for surgeries. During the camp 34 operations were done successfully by a six member team of dedicated NRI Doctors.
Mitra Medical Services LLP provided endoscopy machines with experts. They conducted 59 endoscopies free of cost and medicines were prescribed and provided. During the camp 124 patients came for various check-ups and after examination were provided free medicines. Medicines were supplied by Govt.of Gujarat and Geo-Enpro Petroleum Company, Kharsang oil fields.
