Republic Day Celebration at VKV Kanyakumari


Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari Rebublic Day Celebration Republic Day is one of the most important national festivals in India. It is celebrated with great splendor of the grandeur to commemorate the enforcement of the Indian constitution on 26th January 1950. It was also on this day that our motherland was declared a total sovereign, democratic and republic state for the first time.

Our school respected this patriotically charged day with deep reverence and deep appreciation for the constitution of India. The event took place in the school premises from 8.30 am to 10.00 am. It was started with invocation. The tricolour flag was unfurled by the special guest Man. Hanumanta Raoji, Treasurer, Vivekananda Kendra with a firm salute by everyone concluded by singing National Anthem and taking pledge.

Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari Rebublic Day Celebration The gathering was welcomed by our teacher Smt. Thanga Janaki. The patriotic songs ‘Gir Kar Utna’ and  ‘ Entha Punnia Naadengal’ were sung by the students of 7th and 8th std very nicely. The importance of the day was portrayed clearly by student Maria Christina Esli of 9th std. The guests were enamored by the karate performance of the young children.


The Chief guest who graced this occassion, for this function was Er. R.I. Ramkumar, Principal, Vivekananda Polytechnic College, Agasteeswaram. This auspicious morning gave an overview of the inborn love of V.O. Chithambaranar towards the motherland through a short drama performed by 9th and 11th std boys.

The special guest addressed the gathering. The E.A. toppers were awarded with shields by both the guests and Man. Aparna Didi. They encouraged the students with immense amount of adulations. The Chief guest felicitated by Man. Hanumanta Raoji, the special guest. Teacher Kumari. Muthukani gave the vote of thanks. The entire celebration came to a conclusion through Kendra Prayer. Everyone enjoyed refreshments. It was memorable day etched in the minds of  students, parents and staffs.


The Republic Day of India sparks a patriotic fervor in our hearts, reminding us of our glorious history, our rich culture and heritage. It is a day to remember and honour our heroes. It is a day to renew our pledge to protect and cherish our motherland.
