Vivekananda Kendra Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari celebrated the 150th Birthday of Swami Vivekananda in a tremendous manner. Our school, organized Viveka Bhanu- 2012 a Mega Suryanamaskar program- on 28th January 2012 in District level for the youth of today, to keep the body & mind healthy- under the magic spell of Swami Vivekananda’s message, “We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded & by which one can stand on one’s own feet.”
Vivekananda Kendra made a good use of the ancient yet ever appealing science of Yoga, the path to achieve holistic development of man and society.
“God is the lord of all creation”. The Mega Suryanamaskar program began at 10.30 am. Sri. P. Arumugampillai, Correspondent of S.T. Hindu college inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. That was a powerful & colourful light which made the function a grand manner.
Prayer combines body, heart & mind together. The program performed the first part with an invocation by V.K.V.school students. Sri. Abraham Lingom, Principal of V.K.V. Kanyakumari welcomed the gathering wholeheartedly. Mann. M. Hanumanta Raoji, Treasurer of V.K. rooted firmly about the benefits of Yoga. Smt. M. Meenadev, Mayor of Nagercoil admired the marvelous sight of the youth & advised the students for their healthy & successful future.
The valuable presence of Mann. Bhanudasji General Secretary of V.K. Mann. Rekha Didi, Joint General Secretary and Mann. Aparna Didi, All India Vyavastha Pramukh blessed the event. Both the guests were honoured by Sri. Hanuji by presenting the memento.
‘The youth of today’ began their performance. The mantras were being chanted by Akku Didi & Sureshji and with every count followed by drum beat. Mann. Krishna Moorthiji gave a boost to each & every individual by his cheerful wards which made the students gleeful. All the 4364 students gracefully did the Suryanamaskar 12 times. The 124 teachers, parents & guests were astonished by their fabulous performance. Each and everyone, who witnessed the program said, “Never in all my born days”.
All the schools which participated in Mega suryanamaskar program where encouraged and awarded by Mann. Bhanudasji & Mann.Rekha Didi.
Finally, Sri. S. Raja Sekar, Principal of Amritha Vidhyalaya school, Kanyakumari expressed gratitude to the well wishers, teachers, non-teaching staff & students who made the program victorious.
