International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations in Karnataka Prant

As part of the nationwide observance of International Day of Yoga 2026, all the branch centres of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm. The celebrations reflected Vivekananda Kendra's commitment to promoting the true spirit of Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

In Karnataka Prant, International Day of Yoga programmes were organized at 65 locations, bringing together 5,893 participants from different sections of society. A total of 131 karyakarthas were involved in coordinating the events. The Vibhag-wise/Prakalpa-wise details are as follows:

  • Prakalpa (VKV Kallubalu And Anandalaya): 22 locations, 743 participants
  • Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag (Mysore, Hanmanalu, Chamrajanagar Karyasthan, Mandya): 6 locations, 1288 participants
  • Kempegowda Vibhag: 37 locations, 3862 participants

A notable highlight of this year's celebrations was the first-ever Vivekananda Kendra presence in Bidar District through the International Day of Yoga programme. Another significant achievement was the extensive outreach of Anandalaya, which conducted programmes at 21 locations across Mysore District (18), Kallubalu (2), and R.T. Nagar (1), taking the message of Yoga to a large number of children and local communities.

The programmes were held at educational institutions, community centres, and public venues, making Yoga accessible to people of all age groups. Participants enthusiastically performed Yogasanas, Pranayama, and meditation in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH. The celebrations not only encouraged the practice of Yoga but also inspired participants to embrace a healthy, disciplined, and harmonious way of life.
