Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Kempegowda Vibhag, Hebbal Nagarsthan celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 through a series of five programmes conducted across four venues in Bhalki Taluk, Bidar District, from 20 to 22 June 2026. Organised under the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," the programmes witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 404 people and promoted yoga as a holistic way of life for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
On 20 June, the first programme was conducted at Khadkeshwar School from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., where 130 participants enthusiastically performed the Common Yoga Protocol and learned about the importance of yoga for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The second session was held at Mauli Function Hall, Satra Village, Bhathmara, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with 120 participants. The programme highlighted yoga as a holistic way of life and its role in promoting healthy ageing and overall development.
On 21 June, another session was organised at Shivaji College, Bhalki, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., with 51 participants, who actively participated in the Common Yoga Protocol and gained awareness about the benefits of yoga. The fourth session was conducted at Mauli Function Hall, Satra Village, Bhathmara, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with 55 participants. The programme emphasised the role of yoga in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The celebrations concluded on 22 June with a yoga programme at Government School, Dongapur Village, Bhalki, where 48 participants took part in the yoga practices, and pranayama. The session reinforced the significance of yoga in promoting holistic health and well-being.
All the programmes received an encouraging response from the participants and effectively promoted awareness about the values and benefits of yoga for individual and societal well-being. As a follow-up initiative, discussions have been initiated to start regular Vivekananda Kendra activities in Bhalki Taluk.
