21-Day Yoga Satra Concludes Successfully at SNDP Shakha in Kodungallur

The 21-Day Yoga Satra, conducted by Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungallur (Keralam Prant) concluded successfully on 22nd July 2026 at SNDP Shakha, Kodungallur. The Satra was conducted by Smt. Silja as part of the Yoga Instructor Training. The valedictory programme marked the successful completion of the satra with the participation of 11 participants.

The programme reflected the effectiveness of Vivekananda Kendra's Seven-Step Method of Teaching, as Smt. Silja conducted each session with confidence, discipline, and dedication. Every session commenced with the prayer and concluded with the Shanti Mantra, while the participants themselves actively managed and organized the programme, fostering responsibility and teamwork.

During the concluding session, Aadarneeya Sudhakar Ji, Senior Jeevanvrati of Vivekananda Kendra, interacted with the participants, clarified their queries, and encouraged them to adopt yoga as a lifelong discipline for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The participants shared their experiences from the 21-day Yoga Satra, highlighting improvements in physical health, enhanced concentration, greater mental calmness, and the development of paraspara bhāva—the spirit of mutual care, cooperation, and support. Their testimonials reflected the positive impact of regular yoga practice on their daily lives.

The successful completion of the Yoga Satra not only benefited the participants but also marked an important milestone in Smt. Silja's journey as a yoga instructor. The programme concluded with expressions of gratitude to all the participants and reaffirmed the transformative power of yoga in promoting health, harmony, and holistic personality development.

10-day Yoga Satra at Jorhat

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Assam Prant, Rongpur Vibhag, Jorhat Branch, in collaboration with Sri Sri Satyanarayana Seva Samiti, Jorhat, organized a 10-day Yoga Satra from 12th to 21st June 2026 at Sri Sri Satyanarayana Seva Kendra, Jorhat. Conducted daily from 5:45 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., the Satra was attended by 35 participants, including members of the VK Satyanarayana Yoga Varg, students, and local residents. The programme aimed to provide systematic training in Yoga through the Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Satra syllabus, covering Yogasanas, Pranayama, relaxation techniques, and theory sessions on the definition and types of Yoga, Pancha Kosha, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, and Ashtanga Yoga.

The Yoga Satra was inaugurated by Dr. Priyabrata Sen, eminent Agricultural Biologist and President of Sri Sri Satyanarayana Seva Kendra, who emphasized the importance of regular and systematic Yoga practice for healthy ageing and the need for proper guidance to derive maximum benefits from Yogasanas and Pranayama. The inaugural programme was attended by Dr. Ranjit Kumar Choudhury, Shri Nalin Sarmah, Shri Pranjal Sharma, Smt. Munu Devi, and Shri Prithwiraj Purkayastha. The training sessions were conducted by Shri Pranjal Sharma, with the support of Niwasi Karyakartas Shri Kaustavmoni Saikia, Shri Hrishikesh Bordoloi, Shri Bhargab Jyoti Bora, Shri Kapil Ray, and Shri Hemprakash Medok.

The concluding day of the Yoga Satra coincided with the International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2026. A Yoga Sangam was organized in the morning in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) under the Ministry of AYUSH, witnessing the participation of 75 yoga enthusiasts, including Yoga Satra participants, Sanskar Varga students, and members of the local community. A book stall featuring publications of Vivekananda Kendra was also organized and received an encouraging response.

The concluding ceremony was held in the evening with a Bhajan Sandhya at Sri Sri Satyanarayana Seva Kendra. Devotional bhajans rendered by Smt. Lakshmi Nath Chetry, Smt. Jhumpa Ghosh, and Smt. Purnima Bhattacharyya, accompanied on tabla by Shri Subir Mozumder, created a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Participation certificates were distributed to the Yoga Satra participants in the presence of Dr. Shilpi Dhar, Nagar Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra, Jorhat Branch, Dr. Priyabrata Sen, President of Sri Sri Satyanarayana Seva Kendra, and Shri Abhijit Gupta, Secretary of Sri Sri Satyanarayana Seva Samiti.

During the valedictory session, several participants shared that the structured training had significantly deepened their understanding of Yoga and enhanced their practice. They expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive nature of the Satra and requested Vivekananda Kendra to organize similar programmes regularly so that more people could benefit from them.

Yoga Satra at Thiruvananthapuram - April 2026

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Keralam Prant, Thiruvananthapuram Branch, successfully organized a Yoga Satra from 23rd March to 3rd April 2026 at Manikandeswaram. Held daily from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, the session saw the enthusiastic participation of 8 people.

Each day commenced with the 3 Omkars and Shanti Path, The comprehensive curriculum included breathing and loosening exercises, Suryanamaskars, various Asanas, and Pranayama, with a special emphasis on Chair Suryanamaskars to assist participants with knee issues.

Beyond physical practice, the Satra delved into the spiritual and theoretical dimensions of Yoga by explaining the meanings of Mantras and covering the principles of Ashtanga Yoga.

Participants were also inspired by a dedicated session on Swami Vivekananda’s historic meditation on the Mid-Sea Rock at Kanyakumari and the diverse service activities of Vivekananda Kendra.

To further encourage spiritual study, a book stall was arranged, providing attendees with access to transformative literature.

The Satra concluded with the Patanjali Vandana and Shanti Mantra.

Yoga Satra - Ajmer

एक विचार लो। उसे अपना जीवन बना लो। उसके बारे में सोचो उसके सपने देखो, उस विचार को जीओ। अपने मस्तिष्क, मांसपेशियों, नसों, शरीर के हर हिस्से को उस विचार में डूबो दो और बाकी सभी विचारों को किनारे रख दो। यही सफल होने का तरीका है। स्वामी विवेकानन्द के इस विचार से विश्व में महान व्यक्तित्वों का निर्माण हुआ है। कार्य करते समय केवल कार्य का चिंतन करना और परिणाम को ईश्वर के चरणों में समर्पित करने का भाव रखना ही जीवन में न केवल सफलता प्राप्त होती है अपितु चिंता एवं तनाव भी दूर रहता है। उक्त विचार विवेकानन्द केन्द्र कन्याकुमारी राजस्थान के प्रान्त कार्यपद्धति प्रमुख डाॅ. स्वतन्त्र शर्मा ने क्षेत्रीय शिक्षा संस्थान, अजमेर के बी.एस.सी. बीएड के विद्यार्थियों को त्रिदिवसीय योग सत्र के समापन के अवसर पर व्यक्त किए। उन्होंने व्यक्तित्व के पांच आयामों की व्याख्या करते हुए कहा कि हमारे अस्तित्व के पांच भाग होते हैं जिसमें पहला शरीर होता है तथा दूसरा उसे चलाने वाली ऊर्जा जिसे प्राण कहते हैं। तीसरा इस प्राण का स्रोत मन होता है तथा चैथा मन को दिशा देने वाली शक्ति बुद्धि होती है। पांचवा और अंतिम आयाम इन चारों के योग से बनता है जिसे आनन्द कहते हैं और यही योग का अंतिम लक्ष्य है। 

इस योग सत्र में विद्यार्थियों को श्वसन के अभ्यासों के साथ ही शिथिलीकरण अभ्यास सिखाए गए तथा बीजमंत्रों के साथ सूर्यनमस्कार का अभ्यास सिखाया गया। इसके अतिरिक्त मन को शांत रखने के लिए आसन कराए गए तथा कपालभाति क्रिया, नाड़ी शुद्धि प्राणायाम एवं भ्रामरी प्राणायाम का अभ्यास भी कराया गया। विवेकानन्द केन्द्र अजमेर के युवा प्रमुख अंकुर प्रजापति ने अभ्यासों का प्रदर्शन किया तथा सत्र समन्वयक प्रो0 आयुष्मान गोस्वामी रहे।

Yoga Satra Concluding and Gita Jayanti Programme – Madurai

A Yoga Satra was conducted from 21.11.2022 to 30.11.2022 (10 days) at Sri Varatha Raja Perumal Temple, S.R.V. Nagar. Totally 9 participants comprising 8 sisters and 1 brother participated in the yoga satra. 


The concluding program of the yoga satra and the Gita Jayanti celebrations were held together on Dec 1, 2022, from 6.15 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. in which 45 people participated.

The program started with prayer followed by the welcome address, a presentation of the yoga satra report, and experience sharing by satra participants. Vyavastha Pramukh, VK Madurai Sri. Palaniappan Ji gave a brief speech on the topic ‘Yoga, a way of life’ in which he explained the real meaning of yoga and the importance of character-building in yoga sadhana. After that, all yoga varga participants did pushpanjali to Omkar and took Sankalpa to continue their yoga practice regularly. Subsequently, Gita Jayanti was also celebrated. President of Sri Ramakrishna Sevashramam, Thiruparankundram Sri. Natarajan Ji gave a brief talk on the importance of Gita Jayanti in which he cited some important slokas from the Bhagavad Gita and explained their meaning. All the program participants did pushpanjali to Omkar and Sri Krishna and all took Sankalpa to read Bhagavad Gita and practice its message in daily life. The program was concluded with the Shanti mantra and Kendra Prarthana.

Report For The Month Of June - Mysore


 Yoga Satra And Pranayama Class ( Online) Report :  5 Satras

Vivekananda Kendra Mysore conducted 3 pranayama  satra from 04.06.2021 to 12.05.2021,  Morning 6.00 to 6.45, noon 10.00 to 10.30 and evening 6.00 to 6.45. All together 22 participated.
Yoga Satra:  Morning and evening , started on 14th to 27th June, Practice given to Protocol of International  Day of Yoga , Breathing , loosening exercises, Surya namaskara, Asanas, pranayama, Bhajans taught to participants. 32 people participated. 

Yoga varga: everyday 6 karyakartas from Mysore.

Kendra varga ( online) : on every Sunday 6.00 am to 7.15 am . 20 karyakartas attending regularly. Prayer, Shubashita, Bhajan, Viveka vani, Patriotic song, Yogasana, Games, Boudhik on Kendra Prayer. 

Bhajan Sandhya: on every Sunday 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm .( Guru, Ganesha, Shiva, Devi, Rama, Krishna, Mishra and Nirvanashatak)  24 people attending . Assam-7, Bangalore-7, Udupi-2, Mysore-7 , Maharastra-1  , Kerala- 3, and  4 families from Mysore are attending .

Morning Prayer on everyday 5.45 to  6.00.  6  karyakartas  attending
Vishwa parisara diwas on 5.6.2021 , saplings planted and distributed. 100 banana sapling planted at Yelwala . 
On Ekadashi day Vishnusahasranama chanting in online. 

Vimarsha: on 12th June Sri Ravi Kumar talked on the subject Hanuman – ideal for Karyakarta. 31 people attended in this vimarsha. On 26th Su. Soumya Didi given guidance on the subject Goal for Life. 16 attended. 

Covid Assistance: Provisions worth Rs. 3,800/- for 5 families of  Smt . Rangamma, Smt. Jayamma, Smt. Shivamma, Smt Rama bai, Sri Bassanna . weekly vegitables distribution for 9 families worth Rs. 100 per family.

Ananadalay: 2 places- One in Mysore 4 students . Bagalkote- 7 students  and  2 in online.
Paper bag making : 42 kgs bag prepared and sold @Rs.30/-.

Special Report

Vivekananda Kendra, Mysore conducted Sthaniya Karyakarta Prasikshan Shibir from 12th June 2021 to 23rd June 2021. Due to pandemic the KPS was held virtually on Google Meet. All the esteemed speakers guided our karyakartas with their invaluable knowledge on various topics.

On 12th June Sri Ravi Kumar spoke on the topic “Hanuman, The Ideal of a Karyakarta”. He characterized Hanuman and added why it is so important for a karyakarta to inculcate those in their life. 

On 14th June Sri Ramesh talked on “Ma. Eknathji and Vivekananda Rock Memorial”. He emphasized mainly on how Ma. Eknathji faced the challenges during construction of the rock memorial. And also he presented a video of the vrm construction. 

On 15th June Rishikesh Kumar spoke on “Swami Vivekananda’s life with patriotic dimension”. He talked about how swamiji built a broader picture of India and its spirituality. Adding swamiji’s work in uprising Indians in various ways and inspiring many patriots.

On 16th June all India general secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Ma. Bhanudas Ji addressed the meeting about “The problem that the society is facing and need of organized work”. He very presented the current situation of the society and its adversities. Further he guided all the karyakartas for working in an organized way to overcome all those adversities. 

On 17th June Sri Ravi Kumar briefed about “The Pariposhak Yojana” of Vivekananda Kendra. He clearly explained why subscriptions are made and how to make patrons.

On 18th June Dakshin Prant Sanghatak Ma. Radha Didi guided all the karyakartas on “Methodology for Conducting various Programmes and Baithaks”. She well explained each and every subtle aspects of conducting any programme. She spoke of the post programme activities like report writing and its importance. 

On 19th June Ma. Priyamvada Didi gave her talk on importance of “Anushasan” (Discipline) in one’s life. She guided everyone saying as banks of river help the stream to reach the ocean, so does discipline in our life. Her experience inspired all the karyakartas to be more disciplined.

On 20th June Sri Pravin Ji briefed about “Kendra Parichay”. He talked about Vivekananda Kendra objectives and explained all the service activities being done by Kendra. All karyakartas got a clearer picture of Kendra.

On 21st June Sri Shreenivasiah Ji expatiated about “Yoga – A way of life”. He educated everyone on Patanjali Yoga Sutras, and also spoke briefly on Ashtanga Yoga. It was a very knowledgeable session as all karyakartas learnt the history and importance of yoga in daily life.

On 22nd June Sri Nirag dave Ji guided on “Skill development for conducting Samskara Varga”. He gave his new ideas and techniques for planning and conducting Samskara Varga. Overall main objective being character and personality development of kids.

On 23rd June Ma. Lalitha Didi explained the “Meaning of Kendra Prayer and Shanti Mantra” in simpler way. All karyakartas understood the meanings and were made to sing with the very essence of the prayers.

Yoga Satra at Chandigarh

A 10 day yoga satra was organized at Ramkrishna Mission, Chandigarh, sec15-B by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari branch panchkula.  There were 15 participants in the satra.

Daily 1.5 hour session start with Shanti Path - Aum Sahana vavatu and session ends with Shanti Mantra - Aum Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah. In 10 days  satra, some important Loosening Exercises, Suryanamaskar with mantra, Asanas, Pranayama, Relaxation technique and Kriyas had been taught.

Loosening exercises like Jogging, jumping, ankle joint stretch, knee joint stretch etc.., Standing postures, Sitting postures, Pron-line posture and Supine-line postures in Asanas, Kriyas like Kapalbhati, Neti and Dhauti and Pranayama like Nadi Suddhi & Bharamari. Quick and Deep Relaxation technique also had been introduced.

Apart from practical session, in theory session some dimensions of Patanjal Yoga Sutra, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Rajyoga and Bhakti yoga has been introduced.

Yoga Satra @ Kovilpatti


Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari Kovilpatti Branch conducted 7days yoga satra at Kovilpatti Nadar Kamraj Metric School from 21st to 27th May 2017. Participants learn about Relaxation Technique, SuryaNayaskar, Assan, Pranayam and also get first hand experience of Neti​ ​Kriya. Total 45 person encouragingly took participation in all the activities.

Vivekananda Kendra Mysore Feb (2017) Month Activities

On 3rd February, RATASAPTAMI day Samuhika suryanamaskar was organised at Bannur, Sri Ramachandraji briefed the importance of the day. All participants did 54 rounds suryanamaskara.

On 7th February, arise awake exhibition and book sales was organised at Capitol public school, saraswstipuram.

TEJAS workshop at V K Mysore : Vivekananda kendra was organized tejas workshop for class 10th students of J S S High school, laxmipuram from 8th February to 14th February. Nearly 180 students attended the workshop. Yoga, games, group discussions and song sessions taken. SRI RAMAKRISHNA JAYANTI celebrated on 18th February. Books and uniforms distributed to needy students. YOGA SATRA was organised at Vardaraja swamy temple, Varkod, T Narsipura taluk from 26th to 4 th March. 98 students from Mahajana 1st grade college, Mysore attending . breathing exercises, loosening exercise, surya namaskar, asanas, pranayama and games were taught to the students.
