Gita Jayanti Celebration at JP Nagar

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, JP Nagar Nagarasthan organized Gita Jayanti celebration on 1st December 2025 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the residence of Dr. Padmarekha Didi in Pandurang Nagar. A total of 53 participants attended the programme.

The programme commenced with prayers, followed by a brief explanation on the significance of Gita Jayanti by Dr. Padmarekha Didi, who also introduced the mission and activities of Vivekananda Kendra through Kendra Parichaya.

Subsequently, all participants collectively chanted the Karma Yoga Sloka Sangraha in a lead-and-follow manner. This was followed by bhajan sandhya for about twenty minutes, creating a devotional and reflective atmosphere.

An interactive session among the participants was held thereafter, encouraging sharing of thoughts and reflections. The programme concluded with the distribution of prasada.

Sadhana Diwas Celebration at JP Nagar

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, JP Nagar Nagarasthan organized the Sadhana Diwas celebration on 19 November 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the residence of Shri Ramnath Ji. A total of 10 karyakartas were present for the programme.

The programme commenced with an address by Shri Prakash Ji, Nagar Pramukh, JP Nagar, who spoke on the life and contributions of Mananeeya Shri Eknathji Ranade and explained the significance of Sadhana Diwas for all Kendra karyakartas.

The programme also provided an opportunity for healthy interaction and exchange of thoughts among the karyakartas, strengthening team bonding and clarity of purpose. Towards the end, a song dedicated to Ma. Eknath Ji was sung in a lead-and-follow format, adding an inspiring touch to the celebration.

The event concluded with renewed dedication and collective resolve to carry forward the national work with enthusiasm and commitment.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at JP Nagar

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, JP Nagar Nagarasthan, celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 20th September 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Yoga Hall, BBMP Office, RBI Layout. The event, attended by 75 participants, was organized to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago on 11th September 1893, spreading his timeless message of harmony and oneness.

The programme commenced with three Omkaras and a prayer led by Vyavastha Pramukh Shri Anantharamu Ji, followed by a welcome address by Nagar Pramukh Shri C.V. Prakash Ji, who also presented the context of the event. Chief Guest Shri Y.V. Gundu Rao Ji, an eminent motivational speaker, and Sanchalak Prof. S.M.S. Gouda Ji were welcomed onto the stage. Karnataka Prant Sampark Pramukh Ramesh Bhat Ji presented the Kendra Parichaya, and Karyalay Pramukh Amitha Didi introduced the chief guest.

In his inspiring address, Shri Y.V. Gundu Rao Ji spoke on Swami Vivekananda’s noble qualities, achievements, and their relevance in shaping a purposeful and meaningful life. Following his talk, Shri K.N. Anantharamu Ji gave a brief presentation on this year’s flagship initiative — the Swadhyaya Competition. Students from BES B.Ed. College rendered Chaagi Geetha, a Kannada translation of Swamiji’s composition by Rashtrakavi Kuvempu, filling the hall with devotional fervor. Students from RV Teachers Training College also shared their enriching experiences from the Swadhyaya Competition and the Leadership Development Shibir held at Kanyakumari.

Prof. S.M.S. Gouda Ji, JP Nagar Nagarasthan Sanchalak, delivered an impactful closing note and expressed gratitude through the vote of thanks. The event concluded with an open interactive session and the chanting of the Shanti Mantra led by Poornima Didi, Karyapaddhati Toli Sadasya. Shri R. Srikanth Ji, Nagar Sah Pramukh, efficiently compered the entire program, while Shri Bheemesh Ji provided IT support for the presentations.

Amrutha Prasada was distributed to all participants. The program was generously supported by Shri M. Prakash Ji, office bearer of the Senior Citizens Association and a well-wisher of Vivekananda Kendra, who sponsored the major expenditure.

The celebration concluded successfully, leaving the participants deeply inspired by Swamiji’s message of universal brotherhood, selfless service, and national integration.

Gurupurnima Celebration at JP Nagar

Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is revered as the Guru, and Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers and projects of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.          Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, JP Nagar Branch observed Gurupurnima on Ashadha Purnima (10th July 2025) from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Sakalangana, the residence of Sri Ramnath Ji in RBI Layout, JP Nagar. A total of 13 people participated in the programme.

The venue arrangement and stage preparation were coordinated by Karyapaddhati Pramukh Smt. Laxmi Didi and Karyapaddhati Sah Pramukh Smt. Poornima Didi. The Utsav began with a prayer and Deepa Prajwalan by Prof. Shambulinge Gowda, Sanchalak, and Sri Ramnath Ji. The group chanted selected stotras and sang a bhajan on Guru, invoking a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

Sri H. Ramesh Bhat Ji provided a brief introduction to the significance of the day and an overview of Vivekananda Kendra’s mission and its seva activities. He also shared the intention to organize a larger-scale Gurupurnima Utsav in the month of August.

Prof. Shambulinge Gowda ji and Sah Pramukh Sri R. Srikanth ji shared inspiring thoughts on the significance of the Guru and the relevance of Gurupurnima in personal and collective spiritual growth. Sri Ramnath Ji contributed a heartfelt touch by singing a self-composed devotional song on Guru Bhagva. Other Karyakartas also shared their experiences and reflections related to the Guru Tattva.

All participants did pushparpan to Omkar while a devotional song on Omkara played in the background. The celebration concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra and the Kendra Prarthana, followed by the distribution of Prasada, marking a peaceful and heartfelt conclusion to the Utsav.

Swadhyaya Workshop and Prize Distribution Ceremony at JP Nagar

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, JP Nagar Branch organized a half-day Swadhyaya Workshop for the participants of the Swadhyaya competition at Surana College, Bangalore, on 3rd May 2025. The workshop saw active participation from a total of 46 people, including 36 students, 2 teachers, and 8 karyakartas.

The event was arranged by the Nagarasthan of JP Nagar and graced by the presence of Prof. Shambhulingegowda ji, Shri Prakash ji, Dr. Padmarekha didi, and Ms. Nagalakshmi didi. Under the leadership of Shri Bharath anna, a series of engaging activities were conducted to spark creativity and foster holistic development among the students. These included intellectual and physical activities centered on themes such as nationalism, leadership, and self-analysis. Shri Bharath anna was supported in organizing these activities by his dedicated team comprising Shri Tarun, Shri Dhruta, and Shri Bhavesh.

All the students participated with great enthusiasm. A Vivekavani—an inspiring thought of Swami Vivekananda—was shared and its relevance was elaborated by Nagalakshmi didi. Dr. Padmarekha didi introduced the objective and vision behind conducting the Swadhyaya exam, as well as the upcoming personality development camp at the Vivekananda Kendra, which was further explained by Shri Prakash ji.


The workshop concluded with concluding remarks by Prof. Shambhulingegowda ji, who also facilitated the distribution of prizes to the Swadhyaya exam winners and certificates to all participants. The students expressed their appreciation for the enriching experience with great enthusiasm.
