Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Nagarsthan, organized an Amrit Parivar Programme on 18 January 2026 at Oramzi Road, Girraween, Sydney, Australia. The programme witnessed the participation of 18 members representing 4 families, reflecting a meaningful beginning towards strengthening family-based spiritual practices.
The session focused on introducing the vision and activities of Vivekananda Kendra and highlighting the importance of the Bhagavad Gita in daily life. The discussion emphasized that Hindu families should come together regularly to preserve and transmit Bharat’s Sanatana Dharma and cultural values to future generations.
Participants were encouraged to cultivate the practice of collectively reciting at least three to four shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita every week, followed by discussion of their meaning and relevance in daily life. The importance of integrating such practices within existing family sankuls was also stressed, thereby nurturing spiritually rooted and culturally aware family units.
The programme concluded with a resolve among the participating families to implement these practices consistently, making the gathering both purposeful and inspiring.
