The Traditional Dance and Drama Competition on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti organized by VKAJ Pasighat

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti (Arunachal Prant), Pasighat in collaboration with Ignited Youth Forum, Pasighat organized The Traditional Dance and Drama Competition on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 12th January 2026 at the auditorium of IGJ Government Higher Secondary School. The programme witnessed a total participation of 275, including 25 karyakartas, along with an audience of around 250 people.

The Chief Guest of the event was Major General Jarken Gamlin, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd.), Chief Information Officer, and the Guest of Honour was Colonel Rimo Karkbak, the first Army Officer from Arunachal Pradesh. The program was conducted under the supervision of Group Captain Mohonto Panging Pao ji.

The proceedings began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, followed by a warm welcome address from Dr. Dilum Modi ji. After the felicitation of Group Captain Mohonto Panging Pao ji and a soulful welcome song by the Ignited Youth Forum, the audience was introduced to the organization’s mission through the Kendra Parichay. The day continued with a series of spirited traditional performances, a recitation of the Swadesh Mantra by Jasmine Dai, and a compelling traditional drama.

The atmosphere turned particularly nostalgic and joyful as both the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour shared personal school-day memories during the prize distribution for the Arise Awake and cultural competitions.  The audience greatly appreciated the performances, which beautifully reflected the richness of traditional culture.
