Sports Day Celebration at VKV Vallioor

The Annual Sports Day of  Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor (Tamil Nadu Prant), was celebrated with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit on 24th January 2026 at 9.30 a.m. on the school ground. The programme was presided over by Shri S. K.Subramanianji, Correspondent, VKV MHSS, Vallioor. A total of 950 students actively participated in the event. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri. S. Raja, B.A., Special Sub-Inspector (PEW), Tirunelveli District.

The celebration commenced with a vibrant march past by the four houses—Green, Red, White, and Blue—demonstrating discipline, unity, and team spirit. The ceremonial torch was lit by the Chief Guest, symbolising the spirit of sportsmanship and perseverance. The event was organised with the objective of promoting physical fitness, mental strength, and healthy competition among students, echoing the message that a true sportsperson must train the mind and remain fit and prepared at all times.

A variety of track events were conducted, including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m races, and the 400m relay. Field events such as Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw, and Javelin Throw were also held, providing students ample opportunity to showcase their athletic talents and determination.

The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and motivated the students to cultivate discipline, resilience, and a competitive spirit both in sports and in life. The programme concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, during which winners were awarded medals and certificates in recognition of their achievements. The White House was crowned the Overall Champion for its consistent and outstanding performance throughout the competitions.

The Sports Day was a grand success, leaving the students with memorable experiences and fostering a strong spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship.
