Vivekananda Jayanti in Tinsukia at 115 places

The Vivekananda Jayanti was celebrated in Tinsukia in a unique way. Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Laipuli, Tinsukia is the first VK Vidyalaya in Assam started in 1978. Today it has classes from KG to Cl XII with 1309 students, 68 Teaching and 27 Non-teaching staff.
The Vidyalaya and VK Tinsukia combined planned this celebration. The celebration was done wherever the students are staying. All the students were grouped into a smaller group of staying nearby. All of them were inspired to visit the houses of all nearby and invite them for the Pushpanjali karyakram on 12 Jan.
On 12 Jan, in a small decorated pandal, with soothing music around in most of the places, Swamiji's photo was placed, garlanded and flowers were kept in 115 places. In each of the place 100s of nearby people came and with slogans, patriotic songs all of them by turn offered flowers to Swamiji.
In few schools the sales van went around and that also was well received. While talking to Sri Pranav Brahmachariji, Principal of VKV Tinsukia; Sarita Didi, Poornima Didi and Bobita Didi, they expressed a great happiness to the response from children, parents and society as a whole.
