International Day of Yoga Celebration at Samhita School of Performing Arts – Karnataka Prant

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar Branch organized a program on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Samskara Varga conducted in Samhita School of Performing Arts on 22nd June 2025. A total of 30 participants (29 vidyarthis and 1 shikshak) attended the session.

The celebration began with a prayer, followed by the chanting of subhāṣita and a karmayoga śloka that was taught to the participants. A bhajan, “Gajavadhana Gananātha,” was sung with devotion, after which various games were conducted to energize and engage the children.

Participants practiced āsanas, kriyās, and prāṇāyāma as per the Common Yoga Protocol. The session was vibrant with enthusiasm, and the environment was filled with positivity. Children expressed happiness and interest in continuing Yoga as part of their daily routine.

The session concluded with meditation, Śānti Mantra, and Kendra Prārthanā, followed by the distribution of prasāda.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Siang Vibhag organized the 11th International Day of Yoga by conducting programmes at 18 different locations, with a total participation of 2,063 people. The celebrations were held across various institutions and public venues, including GREF, Department of Forestry, IGJGHS School, JNC School, LBS School, Balek, Mer Kadung, New Thumba, Kendra Karyalaya in Aalo, New Market Govt. Sec. School Aalo, Govt. Sec. School Kombo, Doji, Kerang, Kaying, Komsing, Boleng, Kamba, and KGVB Kamba.

The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups and backgrounds. Participants actively engaged in the practice of Yogasanas and Pranayama following the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH, reflecting the spirit of oneness and holistic well-being promoted through Yoga.







International Day of Yoga Celebration at VKV Vallioor

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School, Vallioor (Tamil Nadu Prant) celebrated International Day of Yoga 2025 on 21st June 2025 at the school premises. The programme commenced at 10:30 a.m. with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri. Poovendiran jiRSS Organizer of the Six District Environment Unit, and the Special Guest, Shri. S. Sudhir Kandhan jiFormer President of Rotary Club, Vallioor Central. A warm welcome address was delivered by teacher Smt. Usha.

A total of 450 students participated in the celebration, which featured vibrant demonstrations of Bharatanatyam, Karate, and the traditional martial art Silambam. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of Yoga as a holistic practice for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. A mass yoga demonstration was conducted, actively involving all students and emphasizing Yoga as a disciplined way of life.

The Principal, Smt. S. Esakkiammal @ Devi, and the Special Guest jointly presented a memento to the Chief Guest. A group of students also participated in the International Day of Yoga celebrations held at VOC Ground, Tirunelveli, at 6:00 a.m., organized by the Indian Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department and My Bharat, Tirunelveli District. The Principal and Chief Guest distributed participation certificates to those students.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by teacher Miss Nisha, followed by the Kendra Prarthana, marking a meaningful and grand celebration of the International Day of Yoga.


International Day of Yoga Celebration at Narendra Anandalaya in Jayanagar

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch, organized a Yoga session at Narendra Anandalaya, Jayanagar on 21st June 2025. Narendra Anandalaya is one of the Anandalayas run by Vivekananda Kendra Mysore. The session witnessed the participation of 10 students.

The Yoga session was conducted by Shri Nishant, a Nivasi Karyakarta of the Kendra, and followed the Common Yoga Protocol laid out by the Ministry of AYUSH. Participants engaged in āsanas and prāṇāyāma practices, aligning with the year's theme—"Yoga for One Earth, One Health."

Though small in number, the session was conducted with sincerity and commitment, promoting Yoga as a way of life.


International Day of Yoga Celebration at Government School in Manorayana Palya

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar Branch organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Government School, Mannorayana Palya on 21st June 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The event witnessed the participation of 127 students, guided by 9 Karyakartas, bringing the total upasthiti to 136 participants.

The celebration began with a prayer and a brief Kendra parichay. The session followed the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, and all students participated with great enthusiasm in practicing āsanas and prāṇāyāma.

Prof. K.C. Mishra ji presented a memento to the school principal as a token of appreciation. The session focused on the importance of maintaining physical and mental balance, and students were encouraged to adopt Yoga as a regular part of daily life, in alignment with the year’s theme—“Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

s a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagar Branch organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Sri Vinayaka Sunrise English Medium School, Hebbal Kempapura on 21st June 2025, from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A total of 242 students participated in the session, supported by the involvement of 3 Karyakartas.

The session began with an introduction by the Karyakartas, who explained the importance of Yoga, its physical and mental benefits, and the significance of International Day of Yoga. The program was conducted following the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, including a sequence of prārthanā, warm-up exercises (shīthilikaraṇa vyāyāma), Yogāsanas, prāṇāyāma, and meditation.

The students participated with enthusiasm, and the session helped instill awareness about Yoga as a way of life. The program concluded with a prayer and received appreciation from the school management, marking a successful and impactful celebration.

International Day of Yoga celebration at Mamatha School in Bengaluru

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.  As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar Branch organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Mamatha School, RT Nagar, Bengaluru – 32 on 21st June 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The program saw the enthusiastic participation of 342 students, 7 faculty members, and 4 Karyakartas, totalling 353 participants.

The Yoga session was conducted in three batches for Primary, Mid-Primary, and High School students. The sessions followed the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH. Students participated energetically, performing āsanas, prāṇāyāma, and relaxation practices with great involvement.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks and the chanting of the Shānti Mantra, leaving a positive and joyful atmosphere.


International Day of Yoga Celebration at Ananda Dham VK-VVF Campus in Kodungulur

As part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungulur (Kerala Prant), organized a special event on the morning of 21st June 2025 from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at the Ananda Dham VK-VVF Campus.

The program began with a mass Yoga demonstration conducted at the open auditorium, with the participation of Karyakartas and Yoga teachers from the local area. The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Panicker of Panicker’s Hospital, Kodungulur.

Mananeeya Dr. Lakshmi Kumari Didi, Director of Vivekananda Vedic Vision Foundation, also graced the occasion and addressed the gathering. She spoke on this year’s IDY theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasizing the interconnectedness of personal well-being and planetary harmony.

As a symbolic gesture to promote ecological awareness, all participants along with Senior Jeevanvrati Adarneeya Sudhakar Ji participated in a tree planting activity, based on the beautiful theme: “Let’s plant a tree in mother’s name” (അമ്മയുടെ പേരിൽ ഒരു മരം നടാം).

A total of 78 participants took part in this meaningful celebration, embracing the spirit of Yoga and sustainable living.

International Day of Yoga Celebration at Sharada Shikshana Samste in Hanumanalu

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.  As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch, Hanumanalu Karyasthan organized an International Day of Yoga programme at Sharada Shikshana Samste, Hanumanalu in Mysore on 21st June 2025. The session was conducted in line with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

A total of 229 participants including 203 students, 20 teachers, and 6 Karyakartas enthusiastically took part in the session. The Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH was followed, incorporating āsanas, prāṇāyāma, and meditation to promote holistic well-being.

As a follow-up to the International Day of Yoga celebration, a Swadhyaya competition on the occasion of Guru Purnima was planned to nurture further cultural engagement among the students.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at The BEST School campus, Kuderu, Chamarajanagar on 21st June 2025. The event was held under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” The session saw active participation from 258 students, 15 teachers, and 4 Karyakartas, making a total of 277 participants.

The program introduced students to the significance of Yoga as a lifestyle practice for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Participants followed the Common Yoga Protocol of the Ministry of AYUSH, performing āsanas, prāṇāyāma, and meditation with enthusiasm.

As a follow-up to the event and to further deepen engagement, a Swadhyaya Competition is planned for the future.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness. As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, RT Nagar Branch organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Ashraya Vidya Kendra, RT Nagar, Bengaluru on 21st June 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The session witnessed the participation of 80 students and 8 Karyakartas, totaling 88 participants.

The session followed the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH and focused on cultivating physical and mental balance. Participants were encouraged to embrace Yoga as a daily discipline and a path toward a healthy lifestyle, resonating with this year’s theme—“Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

International Day of Yoga celebration at RJS Group of Institutions in Bengaluru

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.  As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Marathahalli Karyasthan organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at RJS Group of Institutions, Bengaluru on 21st June 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A total of 250 students from RJS PU College and RJS School, along with 5 Karyakartas, participated in the session.

The event was presided over by the Principals of RJS PU College, School, and Degree College, along with Shri Vasudev Ji, Managing Committee Chairman of the institution. The celebration highlighted the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” and emphasized how Yoga contributes to physical and mental well-being.

The session was conducted by the students of VKV Kallubalu, following the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH. Ms. Mitra Didi provided the Kendra Parichaya, helping participants understand the vision and activities of Vivekananda Kendra.

The program was well received and appreciated by the institution, leaving a meaningful impact on all participants.


International Day of Yoga Celebration at SNDP Hall - Kannikulangara

As part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungulur (Kerala Prant), conducted a Yoga Sangamam at SNDP Hall, Kannikulangara on 22nd June 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Adarneeya Sudhakar Ji, Senior Jeevanvrati Karyakartha of Vivekananda Kendra, was the Chief Guest and delivered the introductory address, highlighting the spiritual and practical significance of Yoga in daily life. Smt. Dimple Reeshen, a Counseling Psychologist, served as the Guest of Honour and shared her insights with the participants.

A total of 75 people took part in the session, making it a successful and inspiring celebration of International Day of Yoga.


International Day of Yoga Celebration at Sharada Gramam Edavilangu

As part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungulur (Kerala Prant), conducted a Yoga Sangamam programme at Sharada Gramam, Edavilangu on 21st June 2025 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The session was led by Ms. Suja Chechi and saw active participation from the local community.  The event was graced by the presence of Adarneeya Sudhakar Ji, Senior Jeevanvrati karyakartha of Vivekananda Kendra, who delivered the introductory address and highlighted the importance of Yoga in daily life. Bindu Teacher from Sandeepani Shishuvihar and senior Karyakarta Shri Radhakrishnan Ji also participated in the session and supported the event.

A total of 92 participants attended the session, making it a meaningful celebration of International Day of Yoga in a traditional and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.  As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch, Mandya Karyasthan organized a Yoga session at Gurujnana Vidyalaya, Hosalli, Mandya on 21st June 2025, under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

The event saw active participation from 98 students, 8 teachers, and 2 Karyakartas, making a total of 108 participants. The session followed the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, comprising āsanas, prāṇāyāma, and meditation, encouraging holistic well-being and discipline.

As a continuation of this programme, a Swadhyaya competition is planned as a follow-up activity to promote deeper understanding about Bharatiya Samskriti among students.


International Day of Yoga Celebration at Manikandeshwaram School in Thiruvananthapuram

As part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kerala Prant, Thiruvananthapuram Branch, organized a special session at Manikandeshwaram School on 21st June 2025. The program was led by Aadharneeya Kum. Kalyani Didi, Jeevanvrati Karyakartha of Vivekananda Kendra, along with Smt. Vasanti Amma, Kendra Karyakartha.  The event began with a warm welcome and introduction by the Principal, Smt. Deepa. The session started with Shantipath, followed by a well-structured Yoga practice that included loosening exercises, concentration-enhancing āsanas, and prāṇāyāma techniques. The entire session was conducted in an inspiring and disciplined manner, encouraging all participants to embrace yoga in daily life.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Principal Smt. Deepa, expressing appreciation to Vivekananda Kendra for organizing the meaningful session.

A total of 95 people participated in the celebration, including 86 students, 6 staff members, and 3 Karyakartas.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

As a part of the celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagar Branch organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Godwin Public School, Kodigehalli on 21st June 2025 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The event was attended by 250 students, with active support from 3 Karyakartas of the Kendra.

The session began with the Karyakartas explaining the importance of Yoga, its benefits for physical and mental well-being, and the significance of the International Day of Yoga. The session followed the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, which included prārthanā, warm-up exercises (shīthilikaraṇa vyāyāma), Yogāsanas, prāṇāyāma, and a concluding prayer.

The enthusiastic participation of the students and the positive response from the school staff made the event a meaningful and impactful celebration of the International Day of Yoga.

International Day of Yoga Celebration at REVA College in Bengaluru

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness. Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagar Branch organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at REVA Independent PU College, Sanjay Nagar on 21st June 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The event was attended by 50 participants and facilitated by 2 Karyakartas of the Kendra.

The Guest of Honour, Shri Shivaramakrishna Ji, graced the occasion. Shri Prasad Ji addressed the gathering and explained the importance of Yoga, its benefits in daily life, the origin of the International Day of Yoga, and the Common Yoga Protocol developed by the Ministry of AYUSH.

Following the introduction, Shri Prasad Ji conducted a 45-minute Yoga session in accordance with the protocol. The session included prārthanā, shīthilikaraṇa vyāyāma (warm-ups), Yogāsanas, prāṇāyāma, and concluded with meditation and prayer, along with the spirited chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”

The program was well-received and marked a meaningful and successful celebration of the International Day of Yoga.



International Day of Yoga Celebration at Hebbal Kempapura in Bengaluru

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagar Branch organized a large-scale Yoga event on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Coffee Board Layout Road, opposite the park in Hebbal Kempapura, on 21st June 2025 from 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 450 people, supported by the active involvement of 15 Karyakartas.

The program began with an invocation by Ms. Abinaya Ji, followed by an address by Ms. Smitha Ji, who explained the significance of the International Day of Yoga, the background of its global observance, and introduced the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP).

The ceremonial Deepa Prajwalana (lamp lighting) was done by Shri Prasad Ji, Rajashree Ji, and Chief Guest Shri. Thammesh Gowda Ji.

The Yoga session was led by Smt. Rajashree Didi as per the Ministry of AYUSH's Common Yoga Protocol, which included prārthanā, shīthilikaraṇa vyāyāma (warm-up exercises), yogāsanas, prāṇāyāma, and a meditation session. The concluding prayer, along with patriotic chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram,” was conducted by Shri Prasad Ji.

The event received widespread appreciation and was also telecast live by Ayush TV and streamed live on YouTube, extending its reach to a broader audience. The program concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impact on the participants.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagar organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Government School, Hebbal Kempapura on 21st June 2025 from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. A total of 270 students participated in the event, along with 5 dedicated Karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra.

The Karyakartas initiated the session by explaining the importance of Yoga, its health benefits, and the significance of International Day of Yoga, along with an introduction to the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP). Following this, they conducted a 45-minute Yoga session as per the Ministry of AYUSH guidelines, which included prārthanā, shīthilikaraṇa vyāyāma (warm-ups), Yogāsanas, prāṇāyāma, and concluded with prayer and patriotic chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”

The program was conducted with great discipline and enthusiasm and was received with appreciation by all present, making the celebration a grand success.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, JP Nagar Branch organized a Yoga session on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Government Higher Primary School, RBI Layout, JP Nagar 7th Phase on 21st June 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The event saw the participation of 3 Karyakartas, 9 teachers, and 130 students, totaling 142 attendees.

The 45-minute session followed the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) 2025 guidelines and was conducted by Shri H. Ramesh Bhat, with demonstrations led by Smt. Amitha and Smt. Poornima, both Karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra. The session included a complete flow of āsanas, prāṇāyāma, and relaxation practices, offering participants a holistic Yoga experience.

International Day of Yoga Celebration at Wellness Yoga Path Centre in Jalahalli

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Jalahalli Karyasthan organized a program on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Jalahalli Wellness Yoga Path Centre on 21st June 2025 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. A total of 14 participants attended the session.

The yoga session was conducted by Sri Jayasankar M.C., Sayojak of VK Jalahalli Karyasthan and trainer at Wellness Yoga Path Centre. The session followed the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, guiding participants through a sequence of āsanas and prāṇāyāma practices. Alongside the physical postures, participants were also enlightened on the value of Yoga in daily life, aligning with the year’s theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

The session created an atmosphere of awareness and well-being, reinforcing Yoga as a means to inner balance and holistic health.



International Day of Yoga Celebration at VKV Kanyakumari


Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu Prant) organized a program on the occasion of 11th International Day of Yoga at Swami Vivekananda Sabhagriham, Vivekanandapuram on 21st June 2025 at 8:00 a.m. A total of 840 students and Kendra Karyakartas enthusiastically participated in the celebration.

The program was anchored by Kum. Babitha, teacher at VKV. The event began with an invocation by Sri R. Manikumar, followed by a warm welcome by Kum. K. Esai Reshma.

A dynamic yoga demonstration by students and Karyakartas showcased the practical application of various āsanas. The session commenced with standing postures such as Pādrāsana, Vṛkṣāsana, Pādahastāsana, and Ardha Chakrāsana, followed by sitting and prone āsanas including Sasāṅgāsana, Vajrāsana, Bhujangāsana, and Pavanamuktāsana. Prāṇāyāma techniques like Nāḍī Śuddhi and Anuloma-Viloma were also practiced. The session was conducted by Smt. Jothi, teacher at VKV.

An insightful talk was delivered by Dr. R. Sundarakumar, who emphasized the historical relevance of Yoga, its benefits for health, focus, and longevity.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Kumaraswamy, Retired Headmaster of D.V.D. Higher Secondary School, Kottar, addressed the gathering with reflections on his personal journey with Yoga. He emphasized Yoga as an invaluable gift from India, its ancient roots, and its capacity to extend human potential—citing sages like Patañjali Maharishi and Thirumoolar Maharishi. He noted the global spread of Yoga to over 175 countries and envisioned India as a spiritual guide for the world by 2047.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Mananeeya Nivedita Didi, All-India Vice President, VRM & VK. She highlighted the spiritual and cultural vision of Yoga as presented by Swami Vivekananda and reiterated the Kendra’s commitment to promoting Yoga as a way of life, rooted in Bharatiya Samskriti. She also informed that a simple Yoga handbook will be distributed to VKV students in the upcoming academic year to lay a foundational platform. She concluded by encouraging students to continue Yoga practice sincerely and regularly.

As a gesture of gratitude, Mananeeya Nivedita Didi presented a memento to Dr. Kumaraswamy. The vote of thanks was proposed by Smt. Kalaivani, teacher at VKV, who extended heartfelt appreciation to all dignitaries, organizers, parents, students, and volunteers.

The program concluded with the Kendra Prārthanā, marking a spiritually uplifting and inspiring celebration of the International Day of Yoga.


 

International Day of Yoga Programme at Hebbal

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Hebbal Nagar organized a program on the occasion of International Day of Yoga at Kenai Technology, Sahakar Nagar, Bengaluru on 18th June 2025 from 5 p.m. to p.m. A total of 16 people participated in the session including 13 employees and three Karyakartas— Shri Mohan Ji, Shri Prasad Ji, and Smt. Sitalakshmi Ji—who represented Vivekananda Kendra.

 Shri Prasad Ji addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of International Day of Yoga and the relevance of incorporating Yoga into daily life, especially in the corporate environment. Practical demonstrations of simple and useful āsanas and prāṇāyāma techniques were conducted, enabling participants to experience Yoga as a tool for holistic well-being. The program was well received with enthusiastic involvement and appreciation from the attendees.



International Day of Yoga Celebration at Erattu Temple in Edavilangu

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, through all its branch centres across Bharat, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm, aiming to bring forth Yoga in its true essence—as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness. As part of these celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation in Kodungulur (Kerala Prant), organized a Yoga Sangamam programme at Erattu Temple, Edavilangu on 18th June 2025 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Yoga Sangamam is an initiative by VK-VVF Karyakartas to spread the message of International Day of Yoga and its protocol. The session was led by Smt. Sheela Lal Ji, Karyakarta of VKVVF.

The program was graced by the presence of Adarneeya Sudhakar Ji, Senior Jeevanvrati of Vivekananda Kendra, who attended as the Chief Guest and blessed the participants with his inspiring words.

A total of 65 people participated in the Yoga Sangamam, engaging actively in the practices and reinforcing the significance of Yoga as a means to holistic well-being and inner harmony.

Yoga Satra concluding programme at Valiya Panickan Thuruth - Kodungallur

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kerala Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation (VK-VVF), Kodungallur conducted the concluding session of the 9th Yoga Satra at Valiya Panickan Thuruth on 14th June 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A total of 25 participants attended the event. The 21-day satra, initiated by Kendra Karyakarta Remya Ji, aimed at introducing the participants to a disciplined yogic lifestyle rooted in Bharatiya culture. 

The concluding programme was held at Island Arts Club and began with the lighting of the lamp by Adarneeya Sudhakar Ji, Senior Jeevan-vrati of Vivekananda Kendra. Senior Karyakartas Sri Radhakrishnan Ji, Smt. Remya Ji, and a representative from the Island Arts Club also addressed the participants, appreciating their commitment and encouraging continued practice.



Free Medical Camp by VK-NRL Hospital at Numaligarh

 Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Assam Prant, Vivekananda Kendra NRL Hospital, in collaboration with Aanandalaya Prakalp, Golaghat, organized a Free Medical Check-up Camp for adolescent girls and women on 14th June 2025 at Numaligarh Rawduar Pothar L.P. School as part of its flagship health programme.

A total of 82 patients were examined, and free medicines were distributed.

The medical team comprised Dr. Nipankar Mahanta, Dr. Hiranya Kumar Barua, and Dr. Karabi Saikia, supported by Jaya Sarkar, Thirthajit Gogoi, and other dedicated medical staff members of Vivekananda Kendra NRL Hospital.

The camp was graced by Shri Umesh Tossa, Sah Pramukh of Aanandalaya Prakalp, along with five Acharyas of Numaligarh Mandal and Gram Samiti members, whose presence and support contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the camp.

Such initiatives reflect Vivekananda Kendra’s continued commitment to holistic rural development and Swami Vivekananda’s vision of ‘Shiv Bhave Jeev Seva’ - serving the needy as worship of the Divine dwelling in all beings.

Yoga Satra at Thoothukudi

 Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamilnadu Prant, Thoothukudi Branch, organized a 10-day Yoga Satra exclusively for the college professors of Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi. The Satra was conducted from 3rd to 13th June 2025, with daily sessions held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. An average of 40 professors enthusiastically participated in the Satra, displaying keen interest and commitment throughout the program.

Shri Veluswamy ji, Yoga Pramukh, conducted the practical sessions, which included loosening exercises, Surya Namaskar, a variety of Yogasanas, Pranayama, and relaxation techniques. The theory sessions were enriched by insights from experienced Karyakartas—Shri Balasubramanian Anna, Senior Yoga Instructor and Kendra Karyakarta, Shri Ayyappan Anna (Sah Prant Sanghatak, Tamilnadu Prant and Prakalpa Sangatak, VKRDP), and Shri Paramaguru Anna (Sah Prakalp Sanghatak, VKRDP). These sessions provided valuable insights into the foundational concepts of Yoga, including its definitions, the principles of Ashtanga Yoga, and the deeper philosophical aspects of a yogic lifestyle.

A special contribution came from the regular Yoga Varga participants of Vivekananda Kendra Thoothukudi, who volunteered their time during the Satra. Their presence greatly enriched the sessions as they assisted in guiding and correcting postures during practice, ensuring a more personalized and effective learning experience for the participants.

Participants were also provided with our yoga book and supportive learning materials, enabling them to continue their practice beyond the Satra. Many of them shared that the Satra was a transformative experience and expressed deep satisfaction and joy in learning Yoga in its traditional and holistic form. The sessions not only introduced them to physical well-being but also inspired an inner journey towards understanding the spirit of Oneness, which Yoga ultimately aims to achieve.

International Day of Yoga 2025 Celebrations at Pondicherry University

Pondicherry University Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, in collaboration with the Siddha Regional Research Institute (under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India) and Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant proudly hosted the International Day of Yoga 2025 at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium, PU Campus.  This year’s celebration was themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” highlighting the holistic benefits of yoga for both personal and planetary well-being.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. M. Elayaraja, Director of Sports (i/c), Pondicherry University, after which all the participants performed the CYP enthusiastically and to the best of their ability.  The Chief Guest for the program was Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University. The Guests of Honour included Dr. K. Tharanikkarasu, Director (SEI&RR), Dr. Shyamala Rajkumar, Research Officer (Siddha), HOD - DCR, Siddha Regional Research Institute, Smt. R. Thangalakshmi, Tamil Nadu Prant Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra, Dr. M. Vijay Kumar, University Librarian and Dr. Vengat Rao, Dean, Student Welfare.

More than 300 participants experienced the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) including the Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries. The CYP was followed after the live broadcast of motivating speech of our Honourable Prime Minister. The event commenced at 6:30 a.m. with a grand Inaugural Ceremony and Yoga Sangam, uniting participants in a shared vision of health, harmony, and sustainability.

Honourable Vice Chancellor highlighted the need for making yoga practice a regular part of everyone's life and brought to light how yoga was becoming popular worldwide especially due to the thrust from our Prime Minister. He appreciated the effort put in by the organizers in making the event a grand success and expressed his happiness seeing very young children also participate in the program enthusiastically.  The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. P. Thenmozhi, Research Officer (Siddha).

The event served as a meaningful reminder of the power of yoga to foster unity, resilience.

International Day of Yoga 2025 Celebration at Vivekananda Rock Memorial

In a spiritually uplifting and serene atmosphere surrounded by the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean, the International Day of Yoga 2025 was meaningfully observed at the iconic midsea Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari. The celebration commenced at 8:00 am on the morning of 21st June 2025. A total of 31 karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra – comprising 9 sisters and 22 brothers – all staff members of the Rock Memorial, gathered at this sacred space to participate in the yoga session. The session included a series of loosening practices, selected asanas, and pranayama techniques, conducted with devotion and focus in the spiritual ambiance of the Rock Memorial.

Practicing yoga at the very place that commemorates the meditation of Swami Vivekananda adds deeper significance to the occasion. For Vivekananda Kendra, Yoga is not merely a physical discipline but a core element of its mission. The practice of yoga on the Rock Memorial – a symbol of national awakening and inner transformation – reaffirms the Kendra’s commitment to the integral development of individuals and society through yoga.

The gentle breeze, rhythmic waves, and the morning sun created a naturally meditative environment that enhanced the experience of inner harmony and oneness – beautifully resonating with this year’s theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

The event concluded with Shanti Mantra. The celebration stood as a powerful reminder of how Yoga, when practiced in sacred spaces with sincerity, becomes a transformative force for individuals and the nation alike.

Yoga Maha Kumbh Programme at Chennai

Under the Ministry of Ayush’s SE–9 Yoga Maha Kumbh Programme – a unique initiative titled ‘संयोगो योगः’ (Samyogo Yogah) was jointly organised by Samskrita Bharati, Vivekananda Kendra, Arogya Bharati, Indian Yoga Association, and Kalakshetra Foundation from June 15 to 21, 2025. As part of the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations, the programme featured two major events: the Yoga Chikitsa Shibiram and an International Conference on Yoga.

Under the Ministry of Ayush’s SE–9 Yoga Maha Kumbh Programme – a unique initiative titled ‘संयोगो योगः’ (Samyogo Yogah) was jointly organised by Samskrita Bharati, Vivekananda Kendra, Arogya Bharati, Indian Yoga Association, and Kalakshetra Foundation from June 15 to 21, 2025. As part of the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations, the programme featured two major events: the Yoga Chikitsa Shibiram and an International Conference on Yoga.

The seven-day celebration, held from 15th to 21st June 2025, aimed to raise awareness about Yoga and its holistic benefits among the general public. It was a vibrant and meaningful initiative, drawing participants from diverse walks of life and highlighting Yoga’s enduring value in promoting individual well-being and collective harmony.

The inaugural ceremony was held on June 15 at the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, Kelambakkam. During the event, Samskrita Bharati released a booklet listing key Yoga texts in both Sanskrit and Tamil. Trained medical students from Arogya Bharati performed Surya Namaskars, demonstrated important asanas, and conducted a special Chair Yoga session. Representing Vivekananda Kendra, Smt. Thangalakshmi Balasubramanian, Prant Pramukh of Tamil Nadu Prant, addressed the gathering and highlighted the connection between Swami Vivekananda’s vision and the practice of Yoga.

From June 16 to 19, the Yoga Chikitsa Shibiram was held at Kalakshetra Foundation, Tiruvanmiyur. Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, coordinated the sessions by inviting a range of speakers to deliver talks on various aspects of Yoga therapy. Shri. Abhinav Kadambi, a Sanskrit scholar and karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra, delivered an interactive session on Karma Yoga, where students participated in activities that explained the concept of action and its consequences. Other sessions focused on therapeutic topics such as stress management and the yogic approach to respiratory disorders. Dr. R. Elangovan, Executive Committee Member of the Indian Yoga Association – TNSCC, addressed common misconceptions surrounding Yoga and provided clarity rooted in both tradition and contemporary understanding.

The International Conference on Yoga commenced on June 20 and continued through June 21. It included plenary sessions with eminent speakers from India and abroad, as well as paper presentations exploring textual, cultural, and traditional dimensions of Yoga. Of the 35 abstracts received, 27 were presented. Shri. Anand Kumar Reddy, Managing Committee Member of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra, represented the organisation during the inaugural session of the conference. Shri. Balasubramanian, Tamil Nadu Prant Toli Member, spoke on the theme of Yoga and Dharma. A Yoga Gītam composed by Prof. M. Jayaram of SVYASA was performed on both days, adding a musical dimension to the event. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. N. Gopalaswami, former Chief Election Commissioner of India, and concluded with a valedictory address by Sri S.K. Dogra, former Director General of Police.

The entire programme witnessed enthusiastic participation, with a total of 920 attendees, including more than 400 students from nearby schools who participated in the sessions daily. The confluence of scholarship, practice, and service highlighted the essence of the theme – संयोगो योगः – reinforcing the unifying and healing power of Yoga in contemporary society.












International Day of Yoga 2025 Celebrations at Samadhi Yoga Sewana in Sri Lanka

As part of the global observance of the International Day of Yoga 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Valmiki Nagar Chennai Branch organised a vibrant and spiritually enriching yoga session at Samadhi Yoga Sewana, Makola, Sri Lanka on 21st June 2025, from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM. The celebration aimed to deepen the understanding of yoga as a unifying force for personal well-being and collective harmony, in alignment with this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

A total of 70 participants, primarily regular practitioners of Samadhi Yoga Sewana, gathered at the venue to perform the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) as prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The session was guided live via online platform by yoga instructors from Valmiki Nagar Branch, Chennai. Loosening Exercises led by Kendra Karyakartha Kum. Akshaya Padmanabhan, Yogasanas by Kendra Karyakartha Shri. Viswanathans. Relaxation and Pranayama practices were conducted by Smt. Kavitha, Sah Sanyojak, Valmiki Nagar Branch.

The participants followed the session with great enthusiasm, maintaining synchrony and focus throughout.

Following the session, Shri. Balasubramanian Ji, Prant Toli Sadasya, Tamil Nadu, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari addressed the participants with an insightful talk on the significance of June 21st as International Day of Yoga and the timeless wisdom of yoga and meditation in India and Sri Lanka.

He emphasized the multidimensional healing aspects of yoga—physical, psychological, and intellectual—and how such practices enhance not only personal well-being but also foster harmonious societal relationships. He encouraged everyone to take a personal sankalpa (resolution) to continue the daily practice of yoga, stressing that physical well-being is a foundation for living a life of good actions and service.

The session concluded with the chanting of Patanjali Vandana and the Shanti Mantra, resonating peace and unity among the participants.

Shri. Thilakaratne ji from Samadhi Yoga Sewana expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Vivekananda Kendra for organising and guiding the event. Following his remarks, all participants also shared their sincere appreciation for the meaningful celebration.

This collaborative celebration across borders reflects the spirit of universal brotherhood through yoga and stands as a testimony to the cultural and spiritual ties between India and Sri Lanka.
