Amrita Parivar - Thiruvananthapuram

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kerala Prant, Thiruvananthapuram, successfully hosted an Amrita Parivar Milan at Vikas Nagar, Vattiyurkavu. The event, held on March 21, 2026 from 5 PM to 6 PM, saw an enthusiastic participation of 19 members from 6 families.

The programme commenced on a serene note with 3 Omkars and Shantipath, followed by a brief explanation of their significance to ensure everyone connected with the spiritual intent. This was followed by a soul-stirring rendition of a patriotic song, 'Matrubhumi Gan se', led by Aadaraneeya Kalyani Didi, which filled the atmosphere with national pride.

A highlight of the evening was the outdoor game session, which brought great joy to both children and elders alike, bridging generational gaps through active participation. The gathering also facilitated a productive and spirited discussion on 'Amrita Prabhat', where all attendees shared their thoughts with great enthusiasm.

The programme concluded peacefully with the recitation of the Shantipath, accompanied by a concise explanation of the mantra’s meaning, leaving the participants inspired and connected.

Weekly Amrita Parivar Sankul Milan at Keezhvaipur

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kerala Prant, Pathanamthitta Branch conducted the weekly Amrita Parivar Sankul Milan on 25th July 2025 at the residence of Soorya Chechi, Keezhvaipur. A total of 13 members from 5 families participated.

The programme began at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer, followed by a discussion on “5 അ” focusing on the first value – Sughi. Participants then learnt a few lines of a bhajan and engaged in a hands-on activity of making paper bags together. Plans for the next Sankul gathering were also discussed.

The session concluded at 6:00 p.m. with the Shanti Mantra and Kendra Prarthana. All members participated actively in the discussions and enjoyed the craft activity, fostering both learning and bonding. The next Sankul gathering is scheduled for 1st August 2025.

Amrita Parivar Sankul Milan at Keezhvaipur

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kerala Prant, Pathanamthitta Branch organized an Amrita Parivar Sankul Milan on 4th July 2025 at the residence of Smt. Pratibha Chechi in Keezhvaipur, with the participation of 8 families and a total of 16 members. The session commenced at 5:00 p.m. with prayer, setting a devotional tone for the evening. This was followed by a discussion based on the Amrita Charcha from the Amrita Parivar Sankalp.

A few lines of a bhajan were studied and learnt together, adding a musical and spiritual touch to the gathering. Participants then engaged in yoga abhyasa, pranayama, and dhyana, contributing to a sense of relaxation and inner balance. Plans for the upcoming Sankul milans were also discussed collectively.

The milan concluded at 6 p.m. with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra followed by the Kendra Prarthana.

All the members expressed a sense of relaxation and joy in coming together, with active sharing and meaningful participation.

Amrita Parivar Programme at Thiruvananthapuram

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kerala Prant, Thiruvananthapuram Branch, organized an Amrita Parivar programme on the theme of Good Parenting on 28th June 2025 at Sree Sankara Vidyapeedom, Manikandeshwaram. A total of 40 parents participated in the programme, which began with a prayer, invoking a serene and focused atmosphere.

The Principal of the school, Smt. Deepa, warmly welcomed the gathering and introduced the session. Adarneeya Radha Didi, Kerala Prant Sangathak, VRM & VK addressed the parents, emphasizing the importance of inculcating samskaras in children.

She stated, “Samskaras are important to develop the children, and the samskaras reflect in their character,” highlighting the long-term impact of value-based parenting.

An interactive session followed, during which parents shared their experiences and sought clarifications, making the programme engaging and participative. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the end of an insightful and purposeful gathering.

Amrit Parivar Satsang at Anapuzha

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kerala Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungallur organized an Amrita Kutumbam (Amrit Parivar) Satsang at Kalyanadayini Sabha Hall, Anapuzha in Thrissur district on 9th April 2025, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. A total of 15 mothers and sisters attended the event.

The programme aimed to introduce the concept of Amriat Kutumbam to the participants. The session commenced with a Prarthana. Adaraneeya Shri Sudhakar Ji, Jeevan-vrati Karyakartha of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari addressed the mothers, providing a comprehensive introduction to Amrit Parivar and its significance.

He emphasized the significance of a strong family system and highlighted the core values that should be cultivated within families. He also guided the participants on expanding Amrit Parivar work at Anapuzha. The session was well-received by all participants and concluded with the Shanti Mantra.
