The traditional ‘Panthakkaal Naduthal’ (installation of holy wooden pole) ceremony was held at Arulmigu Sri Ekakshara Mahaganapati Temple on 19th August 2024, with the participation of around 25 devotees.
Arulmigu Sri Ekakshara Mahaganapati Temple located within the Vivekananda Kendra campus in Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari, is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, the temple serves as a serene place of worship.On the auspicious day of Shravana Pournima, the installation of the holy panthakkaal (wooden pole) took place amid the recital of prayers by priests at the Sri Ekakshara Mahaganapati Temple. This ceremony marks the beginning of preparations for the annual Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. The Ganesh Chaturthi festival is celebrated grandly at the temple each year and spans for ten days.Priests, Jeevan-vratti Karyakarthas of Vivekananda Kendra, and other local devotees participated in the Panthakkal Naduthal ceremony with great devotion. This event signifies the auspicious start of the grand festival.
