Free Hearing Aid Distribution Camp at Pasighat by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti
Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Arun Jyoti Project in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) organized a Free Hearing Assessment and Hearing aid Distribution camp at Bakin Pertin General Hospital, Pasighat, on 26th August 2024 for senior citizens.
A total of 67 patients registered for the camp. After thorough assessments conducted by audiologists, 57 patients were diagnosed with moderate bilateral hearing loss, and 57 pairs of high-quality hearing aids were subsequently distributed.
The distribution ceremony was graced by the Deputy Commissioner of East Siang District, Sri Tayi Taggu, Group Captain Sri Mohanto Pangging Pao, Nagar Sanchalak of VK Pasighat, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. T. Tali, and officials from ALIMCO. Group Captain Mohanto Pangging Pao Ji briefed the attendees about the healthcare services provided by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti across Arunachal Pradesh and encouraged the public to participate in such Seva Karya. Sri Tayi Taggu, DC, East Siang, praised the service activities undertaken by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti for the welfare of the needy and assured all possible support for future camps.
Patients from the entire Siang region, including East Siang, West Siang, Siang, and Upper Siang, attended the camp. Recognizing the growing need, plans were made to conduct a mega camp for various disabilities at Pasighat in the near future.
