Vinayaga Chaturthi Celebration at VKV Vallioor

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Vallioor (VKV-Vallioor), celebrated Vinayaga Chathurthi in a grand and devotional manner from 21st to 28th August 2025 in the school premises. A total of 809 students and teachers participated in the celebration. Vinayaka Chathurthi, one of the most revered and popular festivals of the Hindu tradition, is observed annually to honour Lord Ganesha.

The idol of Lord Ganesha was prepared with the involvement of students from Classes VIII, IX, and XII. Each day during the celebration, students worshipped Lord Ganesha by offering flowers and prasadam, while chanting mantras during the pooja. After the pooja, prasadam was distributed to both students and staff.

On the concluding day, 28th August 2025, the final day pooja was conducted in a grand manner by students of Classes X, XI, and XII. Following the rituals, the idol of Lord Ganesha was taken in procession for Visarjanam with devotion and enthusiasm. The entire celebration was conducted with great fervour and concluded on an auspicious note with the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

Vinayak Chathurthi Celebration at VKV Vallioor

The  Birthday of Lord Ganesha is celebrated as Vinayaga Chathurthi. Every year we celebrate the festival by preparing the idol of Lord  Ganesha  with the help of IX and XI Std  students. The vinayaga charthurthi celebration was celebrated  from  27.08.2014 to 30.08.2014. Each class was given a chance to worship Lord Ganesha by offering flowers and prasadam. Students worshipped  Lord Ganesha with Sastanga Namaskar and chanting Manthras.

After completing the Pooja, prasatham was distributed to the students and staff. The last day Pooja was conducted by X &  XII students in a grand manner on 30.08.2014. After completing  the last day celebration of Vinayaga chathruthi, the idol of Lord Ganesha was taken by our students for Visarjanam.  With the blessings of Lord Ganesha the ceremonies had been conducted very auspiciously.

Vinayaka Chathurthi at VKV Valliyoor

The birthday of Lord Ganesha was celebrated by preparing the idol of Lord Ganesha with the help of IX & XI students.The celebration lasted for 10 days (12.09.2012 to 21.09.2012) with each class performing daily poojas. Chanting of Mantras and songs by students was the main atraction. The 10th day pooja was conducted by X & XII students in a grand manner.  After completing the last day celebration of Vinayga Chathurthi, the idol of Lord Ganesha was taken by the students and staff for Visarjanam.
