Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Kanyakumari(Tamil Nadu Prant), observed the Punya Tithi of Mananeeya Shri Eknathji Ranade, the founder of Vivekananda Kendra, with devotion and reverence on 22nd August, 2025. The solemn programme was held at the Samadhi of Eknathji Ranade in Vivekanandapuram from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The event was attended by 111 members, including 104 students of Class VII, six teachers, and one Jeevan Vrati Karyakarta.
The programme began with three Omkaras and the chanting of the Shanti Pat, creating a devotional atmosphere. Students recited verses from the Karma Yoga Sloka Samgraha, followed by a speech on the life and message of Eknathji by P.S. Sudharshini (Class VII-C). The gathering was further inspired by a soulful rendition of the devotional song “Vandana Abinandana”.
Addressing the gathering, Aadaraneeya Radha Devi Didi, Tamil Nadu and Kerala Prant Sangathak highlighted the timeless values embodied by Eknathji:
- The Karmayogi spirit of selfless service with purity and dedication.
- Faith in inner goodness, inspiring one to bring out the best in others.
- Detachment and cheerfulness, accepting both success and failure with balance.
- Awareness and sensitivity to the needs of society.
- Recognition of noble souls and their selfless service to the nation.
Didi also explained Bhagavad Gita Shloka 18.26, where a sattvika karta works without attachment or ego, with steadiness, enthusiasm, and balance. She reflected on how Eknathji’s life itself was a living example of this teaching—discipline, cheerfulness, and total dedication to Swami Vivekananda’s mission and the service of the nation.
The programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra, the Kendra Prarthana led by the Principal, and Pushpanjali at Eknathji’s Samadhi by the students and teachers.
The entire observance carried the essence of Karma Yoga—working selflessly, cheerfully, and in service of society and the nation.
