Formation of Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroha Samiti in Andaman

The year 2013 is the 150th birth anniversary year of the great patriot-monk and nation-builder of our country  – Swami Vivekananda. In order to celebrate this occasion in a befitting manner in these Isles as the part of its national programme, by spreading the message and the principles of the great Swamiji to every individual of these islands, a Samiti has been formed in the name Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroha Samiti (SVSSSS). In a program organized on 8th December 2012 in Vivekananda Kendra, Portblair, people from different walks of life attended and a Samiti was formed with Pujya Swami Haripadananda of Bharat Sevasharam Sangh and Pujya Swami Suddhananda of Chinmaya mission Portblair as the patrons, Sri P.K.Singh, Chief Engineer, APWD as the President, Dr. R.N.Rath, Principal, M.G. Govt College, Mayabunder as a Vice President, Sri Sumanta Kumar Nag, Manager, United Bank of India, Prothrapur as the Secretary, Sri P.S.Murty, Vivekananda Kendra, Andaman and Sri S.Vijayakumar, Principal, VKV Portblair as Joint Secretaries, Sri Anil Goel of Karan Trading (I) Pvt Ltd as Treasurer, Sri A.K.Maheswari, businessman as Joint treasurer. The samiti also has many leading personalities of the islands as its members.

During the programme, Sri S.Vijayakumar, Principal, VKV explained that the aim of the celebration is to give the universal message of Bharat – oneness, respect, diversity and immortality of the soul – in the words of Swami Vivekananda to as many as possible. As planned at the national level, there will be five segments of work area (Aayaam) to be carried forward such as –Yuva, Prabhuddha Bharat, Asmita, Gramayan and Samvardhini. Swamiji’s message has to be spread through out all segments of the society like youth, intellectuals, Tribals, Rural masses and women to gain confidence in the self, having higher aim in the life, spreading universal love and strengthening our traditional values and knowledge. Sri Sumanta Kumar Nag briefed the future plans of the samiti to the gathering. Swami Haripadananda blessed all. The programme concluded with Shanti mantra after the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Amitabh Dey.

Universal Brotherhood Days Celebration at Mysore

Universal Brotherhood Days Celebration at MysoreInter school Cultural Competition was organized on 8th September at Vivekananda Kendra, Mysore Branch. 202 students from 14 schools participate in different events like Patriotic song, Essay writing on topic My Hero Swami Vivekananda, speech on Chicago speech and drawing – topic swami Vivekananda. Smt. Sreemati inaugurated the function.

Inter college Cultural Competition was organized onn 9th September, at Vivekananda Kendra, Mysore Branch. 124 students from 12 colleges participated in Patriotic song, essay on topic “vision 2020“, speech on “Punya Bhoomi Bharat”, Drawing on Swamiji.

Universal Brotherhood Days Celebration at MysoreLater on 9th September, public function held at Vivekananda Kendra, Mysore Branch. Sri C V Gopinath Ji, Retd. Additional Secretary, Govt of India was the Chief Guest. Smt Nagaratnamma presides the function. Sri Gopinath ji spoke on application of Swamiji’s message in present world and Wake up Bharat and enlightened the world.  172 people attended the function.

On 11th September, public function held at Gopal swamy college. Dr. A S Chadrashekar, Nagar Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra Mysore presides the celebration. Sri Pradhumna Ji, Sangha Chalak, was the Chief Guest. 78 youths attended the function. Dr. Chandrashekarji spoke on 150th birth celebration of Swami Vivekananda and he invited people to spend their some times in this national cause. Sri Aravinda Prasad briefed the Kendra activities.  Sri Pradhumanaji  inaugurated the “ YUVA BHARATA” activities and spoke on that segment.
