Deepavali Seva Activity by VK Dilsukhnagar Branch

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Telugu Prant, Hyderabad Vibhag, Dilsukhnagar Branch, organized a Deepavali Seva Activity on 18th October 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Devathala Gutta Swayambu Anjaneya Swami Temple, Balapur. A total of 34 participants, including 22 volunteers and 12 karyakartas, took part in the programme.

As planned by Yuva karyakarthas of Kendra during earlier sessions, the activity aimed to celebrate Deepavali in a meaningful way by sharing the joy of the festival with children from financially underprivileged backgrounds. Ten children from a local day-care centre were invited to participate in the celebration.

The programme began with a Temple Cleaning Seva, where volunteers and children worked together to remove plastic waste and overgrown grass from the temple premises, reflecting the values of cleanliness and collective effort. This was followed by Hanuman Maharaj Puja and Hanuman Chalisa Parayan, which filled the atmosphere with devotion and spiritual energy.

After the puja, diyas were lit, crackers were burst, and sweets were shared, symbolizing the light of togetherness and service. The event concluded with the distribution of sweets, snacks, and crackers to all the children, spreading festive cheer and happiness.

This Deepavali Seva embodied the spirit of “Love Bharath, Serve Bharath,” demonstrating that true celebration lies in serving others selflessly.

As Swami Vivekananda said, “They alone live who live for others; the rest are more dead than alive.”
