Asmita Conference started at Kanyakumari

160 leaders of 23 Janjatis from ​nine states ​of the country - Arunachal Pradesh​,​ Assam, Nagaland, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Madhya​ Pradesh, Jharkhand​, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh​ ​arrived here for a 3​-​day Janajati Netr​u​t​v​a Sammelan. This conference will continue till 17 of September.

Vivekananda Rock ​M​emorial ​​​and Vivekananda Kendra ​i​s organising this conference in a project styled as Asmita in the birth centenary of ​Mananeeya ​Eknath​ji​ Ranade, Founder​, ​Vivekananda Kendra​, said Dr Joram Begi​, ​​National Co-ordinator,​​ Asmita.

​The 3-day conference is aimed at inculcating understanding and respect for ​Janajati traditional​ practices​ ​which contributes to one’s identity as well.

This conference will be inaugurated by Sri Kiren Rijiju, ​M​inister​ of State, Home Affairs​,​ Govt ​o​f India​, New Delhi, on 15​ ​September​, 2015.
