International Day of Yoga celebrations in West Bengal Prant

International Day of Yoga is celebrated with enthusiasm by all the branch centers of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari across Bharat. Through these celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra aims to bring Yoga to the general public in its true essence, i.e., Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.

This year, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant organized International Day of Yoga programs at 96 places in West Bengal, with a total participation of 6,188 people. For organizing these programs, 339 Kendra Karyakarthas were involved. 

The details of programs Nagar-wise/Karyasthan-wise are given below:

Suckhar Khardha: 8 programmes, 1651 participants (24 Karyakarthas involved)

Dakshineswar Nagar: 17 programmes, 1016 participants (63 Karyakarthas involved)

Vivekananda Nagar Karyasthan: 15 programmes, 467 participants (43 Karyakarthas involved)

Bidhan Nagar: 10 programmes, 450 participants (25 Karyakarthas involved)

Hooghly Sadar Karyasthan: 5 programmes, 372 participants (37 Karyakarthas involved)

Durgapur Nagar: 7 programmes, 360 participants (13 Karyakarthas involved)

Haripal - Antpur Karyasthan: 5 programmes, 330 participants (17 Karyakarthas involved)

Kamarpukur: 2 programmes, 241 participants (5 Karyakarthas involved)

Cooch Behar: 1 programme, 220 participants (2 Karyakarthas involved)

Madhusudan Nagar Karyasthan: 6 programmes, 201 participants (34 Karyakarthas involved)

Chaknan Narghat, Purba Medinipur: 1 programme, 195 participants (2 Karyakarthas involved)

Netaji Nagar Karyasthan: 9 programmes, 328 participants (13 Karyakarthas involved)

Behala: 3 programmes, 129 participants (7 Karyakarthas involved)

Kalyani, Nadia: 1 programme, 65 participants (3 Karyakarthas involved)

Jhargram: 1 programme, 61 participants (1 Karyakarta involved)

Gobor Danga Karyasthan: 2 programmes, 28 participants (4 Karyakarthas involved)

Kharagpur Karyasthan: 2 programmes, 50 participants (3 Karyakarthas involved)

Balagarh Karyasthan: 1 programme, 24 participants (3 Karyakarthas involved)

The programs were conducted in Kendra karyalayas, various institutions and public places, engaging people from all walks of life. All participants actively joined in, practicing Yogasanas and Pranayama as per the Common Yoga Protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH.

These celebrations not only promoted holistic well-being but also deepened cultural and spiritual awareness, firmly rooted in the timeless wisdom of the Yogic tradition.

Vivekananda Janmothsov Celebration at Durgapur

Vivekananda Janmothsov O Seve Somiti and Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari Durgapur Branch are celebrating Swamiji's Birthday by organizing some cultural Program .

This program was continued for 3 days. 

On 9th January Our program was started with Masal run called Vivek Jyoti. In this run we have covered approx 15km with 105 participants.

Then on 11th January we had conducted some cultural program those are

Drawing Competition: Total 333 participators participated in this Drawing competition. We have divided this competition into 4 groups according to the class division.

1. Surya Namaskar Competition: Total 40 candidate participated in this competition 
2. Quize on Swami Vivekananda : Total 20 Candidate participated in this competition
3. Sanskrit Sloke Competition : Total 29 Candidate participated in this competition 

       

On 12th January from morning puja, yagya were held. Then 2 more competition were held on this day .Those are

   

1.  Story Telling of Swamiji Childhood : Total 20 children participated in this competition.
2.  Bhakti Geeti Competition : Total 43 Candidate participated in this competition.

       

The main attraction of the day is that "Dharma Shabha". Our main guest Prof. Janardan Ghosh (Professor of Vivekananda University of English Department) was present in this program and delivered his valuable speech . Along with Vivekananda Kendra Karyakarta Sri Biswanath Chakrabartty (Shantiniketan Bhibagh Promukh) also present . And also some of delegates personality of our society were present in this program .At the end of the program was the Prize distribution ceremony .

Safal Yuva - Yuva Bharat Presentation is based on success story on Vivekananda Rock Memorial was conducted at purulia west bengal on 16th November 2014.

Universal brotherhood day celebration at Durgapur

Vivekananda Kendra Kolkatta, durgapur branch was organized universal brotherhood day celebration at Rahul foundation, Rajbandh, Durgapur on 11 September with presence of 102 engineering students and senior professor. In that programme Prof Rakesh das speak on universal brotherhood: swami vivekananda and manoj das speak on vivekananda kendra concept.
