Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme, Vallioor branch organized a 1008 Thiruvilakku Puja (Deepa Puja) at Arulmigu Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in Vallioor.
This mass deepa puja, which was held on 17th March, 2024, saw the participation of 1,315 women hailing from more than 61 villages around. The aim of the Puja is to invoke blessings for the prosperity of the nation and the well-being of humanity.
Smt. Abhiramasundari Ganesapattar, Smt. Durga Devi Sudhir Kandhan, Dr. Asha Aavudaiyappan, Smt. Ponmozhi Balasubramanian from Selvi Jewellers in Vallioor, Smt. Vaanila, a retired professor from T.D.M.N.S College in T.Kallikuzham, and Smt. Subbulakshmi Arunachalam, Ward Member (Ward 6) of Vadakkuvalliyoor Town Panchayat, inaugurated the program by lighting the thaai vilakku (mother lamp).
Under the guidance of Sri. N. Krishnamoorthi Ji, Editor of Vivekavani Tamil Monthly Magazine, and a Senior Jeevanvrati Karyakartha, in the presence of Sri S.K.Subramanian ji, the Correspondent of VKV MHSS, Vallioor, Sri. Ayyappan Ji, the Secretary of VK-RDP offered Asiyurai (Asirvachan). Smt. Janaki Pushpam, Thirunelveli District Incharge, VKRDP and Smt. Vaanila, Retired Professor from T.D.M.N.S College in T.Kallikuzham offered the felicitation address.
Kendra Sisters took the opportunity to interact with attendees on the topic ‘Wake up Hindus’. Following that, Samugarengapuram Sanskar Varga students presented cultural programs. Then, Kendra sisters Smt. Chandra and Smt. Lalitha lead and conducted the Puja. Arrangements for the puja were made by Vallioor Kendra Karyakarthas Sri. Shanmugabharathy ji, Smt.Vasanthi, Smt. Shanthi.
