The Vice President of the Vivekananda Kendra, Mananeeya Nivedita Bhide was delivered lecture on the subject. Sri V.R. Muthu, eminent industrialist was the Chief Guest.Sri V.S.P. Solaimalai Pitchai, Chairman of Solaimalai Group, Madurai, Sri. Indra Soundrarajan, Tamil Writer and Dr. M. Srinivasan, Correspondent of M.S.R. Matriculation Higher Secondary School were the Guests of honour.
At 5.30 p.m., in Sambhandhar Hall, the guests of honour and the special invitees were introduced to the Vice President of the Vivekananda kendra Kendra and they had an interaction after taking tea and snacks.
At 6.00 p.m., they were received at the programme hall, Dr. Radha Thiagarajan Auditorium. In the meanwhile the participants of the programme were watching the video on the activities of Vivekananda Kendra Madurai branch.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp followed by the prayer song. The Principal of Thiagarajan College Dr. D. Pandiaraja welcomed the gathering. The Madurai Nagar Pramukh of the Kendra Sri A. Selvaraj introduced the guests. The patriotic song was sung by the students of the college.
The Chief Guest Shri. V.R. Muthu in his address appreciated the activities of the Kendra. He suggested conducting competitions among the various college students on the life history of Swami Vivekananda. He also offered to donate funds for organising such competitions.
The Vice President of the Vivekananda Kendra Mananeeya Nivedita Bhide was introduced to the gathering by Sister Radha Devi, Dakshin Pranth coordinator.
Mananeeya Nivedita Bhide delivered a beautiful speech on the topic “Seva – India’s Holistic Approach”. She explained the meaning of the term Seva and the four types of Seva. She emphasised that the country should create good people to have a nation without orphanages. She welcomed the gathering to give their time and energy to shape the Vivekananda Kendra as a Karmayoga based thought movement.
Then the session was opened to the participants to have an interaction with the main speaker, Mananeeya Nivedita Bhide. She clarified the various questions raised by the participants and it was a useful and knowledgeable discussion.
The Karyapaddhati Pramukh D. Natarajan explained various activities of Madurai branch of the Kendra and he also welcomed the participants to have a one to one meeting with our Vice President, the next day at 4.30 p.m. at Ananda Nilayam, TVS Nagar, Madurai.
The programme has been concluded with Vande Mataram song.
