Dr. P.K.Chaurasia , the renowned academician  has enriched the teachers through various sessions on the  Nature of Mathematics, Constructivism in Maths teaching, Need of developing Number sense among students, Conceptual understanding on fractions and  Art of Problem posing and problem solving skills. He has also equipped the teachers in handling Geogebra to enhance Mathematics teaching.

Dr. P.K.Chaursia appealed the teachers to focus more on the process of teaching to give more conceptual clarity. It is a harmful trend that the Teachers for their convenience and also due to the lack of pedagogical understanding focus only mechanical operations in Mathematics. The mastering mechanical operations may help the students to get marks in the Primary and upper primary stages. But the students would suffer during the higher classes due to the lack of conceptual clarity. He urged the teachers to focus on the five characteristics of Maths namely precision, definition, reasoning, coherence and purposefulness. He appealed them to be imaginative and continuously think on the process of teaching.

There were also sessions on Formative assessment in Mathematics by Smt. Shilpi Das Gupta , and the Use of teaching aids in Mathematics by Shri. Ratul Sharma . The 3 day camp was concluded yesterday at VKV Nirjuli. In the concluding function at VKV-Nirjuli,  Kum. B. Radha Devi, Joint secretary of VKVAPT extended the gratitude to the high profile academician from NCERT for his support to equip the teachers of this state to deliver maximum to the students.
