ACTIVITY REPORT : 2012-13 : VK MYSORE

SWADYAYA VARGA 2 Places 21 people.   
YOGA CLASS:  2 PLACES- 162 People attended. Apart from Yogasanas morning prayer, karma yoga shloka sangrah, krida yoga and bhajans in different days .
BHAJAN : Daily at Jayanagar - 18 children. Every  Saturday and Sunday at Kendra-  16 people attending.  
VISHNUSAHSRANAMA CHANTING : Every Ekadashi Day Vishnusahasranama and Ramanana chanting
NON-FORMAL EDUCATION -  ANANDALAYA :  58 children from Class 2nd to 9th standard.
VIVEKA SANDESHA PROGRAMME   :  Exhibition organized from 25th June to to 4th July at Kendra , 800 students and teachers from 7 schools saw the exhibition,  spot quiz programme organized for children and distributed prizes.  
MA. SHARADA MATRU MANDALI: Every Wednesday 22  Mothers attending and chanting soundarya lahari, Bhajans, patriotic songs, games etc.,
NARENDRA  BALAK SANGHA : 17 boys from class 2nd to class 10th attending every Sunday. Yoga, games,  Bhajan, songs, cleaning nearby
temples, planting etc are the activities for students.
UTSAVAS (CELBERATION)
SAMADHI DIN:On 4th, Swami Vivekananda’s samadi din observed. Morning all yoga participants chanted Vishnu sahasranama and karmayoga shlokas and offered flowers to Swamiji.
GURUPOORNIMA:  Gurupoornima celebrated at 3 places – K G Koppal, Jayanagar  & R B
I Vistar. At K G Koppal  morning prayer, Karmayoga shlokas , Guru Bhajan and Guru Shlokas chanted- 22 people attended. At Jayanagar evening Sri Satyanarayana Pooja performed and Sri Krishna Prasad, Teacher Sadvidya High School spoke on Guru and his importance in every ones life, he also talked on great Gurus and Shishyas like Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramkrishna, Shivaji & Samarta Ramdas, Maharshi Vidyranya & Hakka and Bukka.  At R B I Vistar in Samskara Varga celebrated. Guru bhajan, shloka and related games. 
SRI KRISHNA JANMASTAMI celebrated by fancy dress competition, Bhajan, quiz .
U.B DAY CELEBRATION :  On 9th September, public function held at Kendra. Sri C V Gopinath Ji, Retd.
Additional Secretary, Govt of India was the Chief Guest. Smt Nagaratnamma presides the function. Sri Gopinath ji spoke on application of Swamiji’s message in present world and Wake up Bharat and enlightened the world.  172 people attended the function.  On 11th September, public function held at Gopal swamy college. Dr. A S Chadrashekar, Nagar Sanchalak,  presides the celebration. Sri Pradhumna Ji, Sangha Chalak, was the Chief Guest. 78 youths attended the function. Dr. Chandrashekarji spoke on 150th birth celebration of Swami Vivekananda and he invited people to spend their some times in this national cause.  
KANNADA
RAJYOTSAVA CELBRATION
: On 1st November Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated at Kendra. Smt. Manorama, Retd. Head Mistress was the Chief Guest. Quiz conducted for the Anandalaya and Samskara varga students.
SADHANA DIWAS:  On 19th November Sadhana diwas observed at Kendra. Karma Yoga shlokas chanted. Sri
Ramachandraji spoke on Ma. Eknathji.  19th morning Shramadhan camp organized near Kendra. Study materials distributed to 20 students. EKNATHJI BALAMOHOTSAVA :  Sports conducted for Samskara varga students
at R B I Vistar. Nearly 85 children took part. GITA JAYANTI: Geeta recitation competition arranged
for Nursery level to college level. 176 students participated.  VIVEKANANDA JAYANTI: On 13thJanuary Vivekananda Jayanti celebrated at Kendra. Smt Komala Harshakumar was the chief guest. Sri Srinivasaiaji and Dr.
Chandrashekarji talked. 2 books released in this occasion. 

CAMPS AND
COMPETITIONS
YOUTH CAMP: 3 Days   Youth Awareness  Camp conducted at  AMRUTA VIDYALAYA for  VIJAYA POORNA VIJAYA Toppers. 128 students
from 16 colleges from Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Hassan district participated. Punya Bhoomi Bharat and  Swami
Vivekananda and Youth by Swami Nageshji, Challenges and responses by Dr. A S ChandrashekarJI, Man making and Nation Building by Sri Sripatiji. Yoga,
pranayama, karma yoga, kridayoga, bhajan, group discussion and gruha samparka are other activities in the camp. Ma. Virajamrutha mataji of Amrutananda Muta inaugurated the camp.                
WORKSHOP ON HOW TO FACE EXAM WITHOUT FEAR: In April  82 students from Class 10thparticipated 2 days workshop. Sri Nirag conducted the workshop. Yoga and meditation, memory development class, creative games, group discussion and presentation are other activities in workshop.
OMKAR MEDITATION: 7  days Omkar Meditation Class conducted at Jayanagar. 24 people attended.
PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CAMP:   In the month of April 5 days camp at Amrutha Vidyalaya . 88 children took part, in May month 1 month Camp at Jayanagar, 18 children took part.
Inter school Cultural Competition:  On 8th September, cultural competition held at Kendra. 202 students from 14 schools participate in different events like Patriotic song, Essay writing on topic My Hero Swami Vivekananda, speech on Chicago speech and drawing – topic swami Vivekananda. Smt. Sreemati inaugurated the function.
Inter college Cultural ompetition:  On 9th September, college level competition held at Kendra. 124 students from 12 colleges participated in Patriotic song, essay on topic “vision 2020 “, speech on “ Punya Bhoomi Bharat”, Drawing on Swamiji.
Quiz Competition: Quiz on Swami Vivekananda , Ramayana and Mahabharat conducted on November 18th for college and high school students.76 students participated.
Patriotic song & Essay  Competition : On 30th December, patriotic song and essay writing conducted for primary, high school and college students. Around 140 students from different schools and colleges from Mysore city participated.
Rural Youth Camp: 52 students from 18 villages attended the camp. Dr. A S Chandrashekar, President Vivekananda Kendra Mysore addressed the students. Swamiji’s influence on India’s Freedom movement topic given for group discussion. Sri Aravinda, Jeevavrati karyakarata, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari talked on our roll in Swami Vivekananda’s 150th celebration.  Songs, Group discussion and presentation, games etc are other activities in the camp.

SANKALPA DIWAS: On 25th evening  Sankalpa diwas observed at Kendra. 23 karyakartas attended the programme.
MATRU SAMMELLANA: On 11th February Matru Sammellana organized at Jayanagar. Dr. Jayashree, well-known ayurvedic doctor spoke on YOGA and WOMEN and roll of the mother in the family and society.
DEEPA POOJA and BHARAT MATA POOJA:  DEEPA POOJA and BHARAT MATA POOJA    organized at Jayanagar, K G Koppal on  2nd   6th and 22nd  February More than 150 people performed pooja. Sri Ratnakara  and Sri Hongirana,  Vidyarthi Karyakarta , talked on greatness of Bharat and briefed about Swami Vivekananda’s 150th celebration. 
VIVEKANANDA DAY at HULLAHALLI Village  SWAMI VIVEKANANDA DAY celebrated at Govt College Hullahalli, Najangudu Taluk on 2nd February.  Essay and Elocution competition
conducted for the youths. Sri Sripati, Sayojak, Swami Vivekananda’s 150th celebration committee, Mysore Vibagh talked on Swamiji and Youth. Sri Mariyyaia, Principal  addressed the students.
VIVEKANANDA DAY at SHASTRI SCHOOL, HUNSURU on 2nd feb   
VIVEKANANDA DAY at Yuvaraja College, Mysore on 12th Feb:  Sri Gurumurthiji, Principal RIMSE was the chief Guest and talked on Swamiji.  Smt S N Gayathri, Principal of the college addressed the gathering. Book stall and exhibition arranged. 
VIVEKANANDA DAY at Sharada Vilas College on 23rd
Januaray 
Dr A S Chandrashekarji was the chief guest. He spoke on Swamiji’s influence on India’s Freedom movement.
VIVEKANANDA DAY at Kuvemu nagar Govt College on 4th February 
Inter school KABBADDI MATCH on 9th March:  Sri Laxminarayanji, famous document writer inaugurated the match. Students of Vanita sadhana von the trophy. 
On 23rd March Sri Gopinatji distributed the prizes and certificate to the winners of Kabbadi match. Same day study materials distributed to the needy students of nearby schools.
