The Kishori Vikas Workshop at Mysore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Mysore Branch, organized the Kishori Vikas workshop on February 21, 2026, at Sri Sharada Shikshana Samsthe in Hanumanaalu, Mysore. The event brought together 60 Kishoris, 6 teachers, and 5 Kendra Karyakartas.

The program began with the release and distribution of the Kishori Vikasa book to all participating Kishoris. Smt. Tanuja didi introduced the Kendra karyakartas – Ms. Gayatri Didi, Ms.Vasumathi Didi, Ms. Supriya, and Ms. Sowmya Didi. Ms. Supriya served as the anchor for the event.

Ms. Vasumathi Didi rendered two soulful bhajans and presented a patriotic song. Ms. Sowmya Didi sang the Kishori Vikas Geet, then introduced Vivekananda Kendra and elaborated on the objectives of Kishori Vikas workshop, emphasizing mental empowerment, safety, and emotional protection within the family. Ms. Sowmya Didi demonstrated useful hand mudras for the Kishoris. This was followed by a speech on becoming the architect of one’s own life, highlighting the vital role of mothers in the family and drawing inspiration from the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda on women.

Ms. Gayatri Didi spoke about social protection for women and highlighted various ways to achieve it. She provided detailed guidance on adolescent health, spoke about nurturing “Ojas,” and emphasized fostering self-reliance among women. She then conducted three interactive activities, including identifying Shreyas and Preyas.

Ms. Supriya Didi conducted a 20-minute practical session on Yogasanas and Surya Namaskar. She also addressed important topics such as friendship, love, social media, and beauty, stressing that inner beauty surpasses external appearance. She cited the inspiring example of Dr. Droupadi Murmu, the Honourable President of India, followed by slogans.

The workshop also included a short question-and-answer session, followed by three simple and enjoyable games organized by Ms. Supriya didi. The program concluded with the Kendra Prayer.
