National Youth Day at Rourkela

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Odisha Prant, Jyoti Vibhag, Rourkela Branch, celebrated National Youth Day at Uditnagar Field with a Samuhik Surya Namaskar on 12th January 2024. The event began at 7 a.m. and saw the participation of 250 people.   

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at Coimbatore

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, Coimbatore Niyojit Nagar organized Universal Brotherhood Day Program on 21st September 2024 Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Keartiman Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kanuvai, Coimbatore. 110 people participated in the event including the school Students, teachers, parents and well-wishers and Karyakartas of VK Coimbatore.

Onam Celebration at Kodungallur

 Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Kerala Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungallur celebrated Onam on 18th September 2024 with Karyakartas, Yoga Varga participants, children of Sandeepani Sisuvihar and their parents, teachers, and senior Jeevan-vratis of the Kendra. A total of 140 people participated in the event held at VK-VVF Karyalaya.

Ganesh Chaturthi - Bhajan Sandhya at Hebbal

 

Ganesh Chaturthi is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrated on the Chaturthi Tithi (fourth day) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Bhadrapada, according to the Hindu calendar. The festival, also known as Vinayagar Chaturthi, is celebrated with great devotion and grandeur at the school each year.

As part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Hebbal Nagar organized a Bhajan Sandhya at Winst Apartment, Hebbal, Kempapura, on the evening of 14th September 2024. A total of 100 people participated in the event, singing Ganesh bhajans with heartfelt devotion.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at RT Nagar

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, RT Nagar branch celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day at MS Convent School, Mannaranya Palya, RT Nagar, on 14th September 2024, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event was attended by a total of 153 people, including 101 students, 8 teachers, 27 Karyakarthas, 15 parents, and 2 Chief Guests.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration at VKV Kanyakumari

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kanyakumari, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi from 7th to 12th September 2024 with great devotion.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at VK Mysore

On the occasion of Universal Brotherhood Day, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mysore Branch, organized a series of Cultural Competitions at the Kendra Karyalaya in Mysore on 11th September 2024. The event saw a total of 240 attendees, including 212 students, 5 teachers, 16 parents, and 7 karyakartas.

Universal Brotherhood Day, celebrated annually on September 11, commemorates the profound message of Universal Brotherhood delivered by Swami Vivekananda at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago on September 11, 1893. It is one of the five Utsavas celebrated by Vivekananda Kendra across all its branches in Bharat.

The program began with a prayer, followed by an introduction to the significance of the day for the attendees. The cultural competitions then commenced, featuring the following events and participation numbers:

• Patriotic Song Competition: 13 teams, 94 students
• Essay Competition on Chicago Address: 38 students
• Quiz Competition: 34 students
• Drawing Competition: 31 students
• Swami Vivekananda costume: 2 students

The students participated enthusiastically, showcasing their talents and reflecting the significant impact Swami Vivekananda has made on their thoughts. Following the competitions, value games were conducted for the students, and sweets were distributed to all attendees.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at VKV Kallubalu

 Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Kallubalu celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2024, from 9.30 a.m. to 11.15 a.m., at Kuvempu Sabhangana Auditorium, with a total of 384 students participating.

Universal Brotherhood Day, observed annually on 11th September, commemorates Swami Vivekananda’s profound message of universal brotherhood, delivered at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago on 11th September 1893. It is one of the five Utsavas celebrated by Vivekananda Kendra across all its branches in Bharat.

The celebration began with a Shanti Pat led by Smt. Anita Didi, followed by a welcome address by Sri. Manjunath Ji, a Kendra Karyakarta. The Chief Guest, Sri. M.L. Ravi Ji, along with other dignitaries, inaugurated the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp (Deepa Prajwalan). Smt. Rekha Didi then delivered the Vivekavani, and Sri. Rishikesh Ji spoke about the significance of the day.

The event featured a dance drama titled “Vedantave Vishwabhratrutva”, which presented a conversation between Swami Vivekananda, Bhagini Nivedita, and Goodwin, highlighting significant incidents. The students enacted scenes demonstrating Lord Rama’s brotherhood towards various beings, such as Ahalya who was in the form of stone, Guha, his brother Bharata, Jatayu, Shabari, Kabanda, Hanuman, Sugriva, Jambavanta, and Vibhishana. Another drama depicted how Buddha's brotherhood transformed Angulimala from a murderer into a monk and emphasized his reverence for all living beings.

The students also portrayed modern-day personalities like Sri Jadhav Payang, Sri Narayana Reddy, Sri Vandana Shiva, and Sri Prakash Amte, showcasing their acts of brotherhood in alignment with Vedanta's teachings. Smt. Pratima Didi provided a summary of these key points in Kannada.

In his address, Chief Guest Sri. M.L. Ravi Ji urged students to uphold the values of Dedication, Determination, and Discipline (3Ds). He also encouraged teachers to impart the true history of Bharat, emphasizing its rich cultural heritage, rather than focusing solely on the invaders who exploited the land.

The Chief Guest’s address was followed by prize distribution for the inter-house competitions and Rakhi-making competition held during Raksha Bandhan. Smt. Bhargavi Didi delivered the vote of thanks, and the program ended with the Shanti Mantra. Ms. Prarthana V.M., an alumna of the Vidyalaya, served as the master of ceremonies.

Universal Brotherhood Day - Cultural Competitions at Mysore

 

On the occasion of Universal Brotherhood Day, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka  Vibhag, Mysore Branch, organized a Rural-level Cultural Competition at Rotary School, Bannur, on 9th September 2024. A total of 112 students participated in the competitions, along with 9 teachers and 5 karyakartas.

विश्व बंधुत्व दिवस विवेकानंद केंद्र कांगड़ा

 विवेकानंद केंद्र कन्याकुमारी, शाखा-कांगड़ा और हिमाचल प्रदेश केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में विश्व बंधुत्व दिवस धूमधाम से मनाया गया। कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य स्वामी विवेकानंद के विश्व बंधुत्व के विचारों को जन-जन तक पहुंचाना और युवाओं में राष्ट्रीय एकता की भावना जागृत करना था।

11 सितंबर, 1893 को शिकागो में विश्व धर्म संसद में स्वामी विवेकानंद जी के ऐतिहासिक भाषण की याद में प्रतिवर्ष विश्व बंधुत्व दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष भी विवेकानंद केंद्र कन्याकुमारी की शिमला शाखा ने इस दिवस को हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाया।

 विवेकानन्द केन्द्र कन्याकुमारी की चांडिल शाखा में दिनांक 11/09/2024 को शाम 4:00 बजे विश्व बंधुत्व दिवस का एक भव्य आयोजन किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत तीन ओमकार मंत्र के उच्चारण के साथ हुई, जिसने पूरे वातावरण को पवित्र बना दिया।

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Kerala Vibhag, Guruvayur Branch, celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day at the Tourist Facilitation Centre, East Nada, Guruvayur, on 11th September 2024, starting at 10.30 a.m. A total of 80 people attended the event.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at Marathahalli

 Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Marathahalli Niyojit Nagar celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2024 at the College Quadrangle, RJS First Grade Degree College, Koramangala. A total of 300 participants, including students, 30 volunteers, 5 faculty members, and 5 supporting staff, attended the event. The organizing team comprised Kendra Karyakarthas: Sri Shirish Anna, Smt. Padmarekha Akka, Sri Vinay Anna, Smt. Lavanya Akka, and Smt. Veena Akka.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mysore Branch, organized a Universal Brotherhood Day programme at the Kendra Karyalaya in Jayanagar on 15th September 2024, with a total of 23 people in attendance.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at VKV Vallioor

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2024 in the school’s Yoga Hall. A total of 950 people, including 850 students and 50 parents, participated in the event.

A total of 850 students participated in the event, which was presided over by the school’s Correspondent, Sri S.K. Subramanian Ji.

 स्वामी विवेकानंद के शिकागो विश्व धर्म संसद में दिए गए ऐतिहासिक भाषण की वर्षगांठ के उपलक्ष्य में विवेकानंद केंद्र कन्याकुमारी, पटना शाखा द्वारा 11 सितंबर, 2024 को विश्व बंधुत्व दिवस धूमधाम से मनाया गया। पटना के बिहार इंडस्ट्रीज एसोसिएशन सभागृह (BIA Hall) में आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल श्री R.N. रवि मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित थे।

Lord Ganesha Idol Making Workshop at Hebbal
